In a recent interview, DC Comics President Paul Levitz implied that meetings are still taking place with Superman Returns star Brandon Routh, in spite of rumors that there were plans to reboot the franchise completely. In fact, Levitz seemed to imply that the folks over at DC loved the job Routh did as the Man of Steel.

But wait...it gets better. With recent revelations about the status of Batman 3 the inevitable follow-up question about it came to Levitz, to which he responded:

Everyone is waiting for Nolan to sign on for another Batman, once that happens, the release date for Superman and all other future projects will follow.

?! So it seems that the fate of the next Superman film depends on how things flow for the next Batman film.
