Mayor Micheal Bloomberg is about to announce that every Taxi in New York City will be a hybrid in a mere five years.

NY taxi regs require cars to be replaced every 3 years for fleet cars and every 5 years for driver-owned cars. They're removing non-hybrids from the 'approved' list so that, when replacement time comes, only hybrids can be purchased.
