According to Linda Tucker, in “Mystery of the White Lions " Children of the Sun God” they are bred in camps in South Africa as trophies for canned hunts. The chinchilla mutation, a recessive gene, gives white lions their unusual colors. A similar gene also produces white tigers. White lions can therefore be selectively bred for zoos and animal shows. Such breeding involves inbreeding of close relatives and can result in inbreeding depression (genetic defects, reduced fertility, and physical defects) although this has not yet been recorded in white lions in zoos as it has in white tigers. According to Tucker, white lions in canned hunt camps have been found to have hind-limb paralysis and serious heart defects, indicating a severe level of inbreeding involved in mass-production although they are rare in the wild.People are concerned about the White Lions mating with regular lions.

Because she has such a huge heart and compassion, Oprah tends to take the emotional liberal side of issues. However, though well intentioned, ignoring reality and human nature can be extremely destructive. A common theme on Oprah's show is everyone is a victim of somebody or something. All abusers are not the products of abuse. History proves some people are simply evil and some people are lazy losers. And why in almost 25 years of broadcasting have we not seen one conservative, "I am not a victim of white America" black guest on the Oprah show? This is a huge disservice to black America. We blacks, I am black, are blessed to be born in the greatest land of opportunity on the planet. And yet, liberal icons are still filling the heads of black youths that they are victims of a sexist, racist and homophobic America.

POPSreview: Oasis Market & Restaurant, Oakland More: I've been in a few more times recently, and I still really like this place, but with some reservations. The biggest issue is the confusion behind the food counter; I don't know if it's a language issue, or just some new workers or both, but every time I've been in recently people seem to not be quite sure of what's going on, can't totally answer some simple questions, have made the wrong food, there have been long delays, forgotten items, things like that. So just pay close attention to your order when you go there for the meals, and bring your patience. There's also a little inconsistency; I've had great dolmas and kabobs there, but the last time I got each item they were both not quite right, the meat was tough and the dolmas were a little hard. The good: the falafels have been fantastic every time I've had them, the baba ganoush is the best that I've ever had, the pita is still pillowy and delicious…
