POPSBloggers Pushing Wes Clark Back to the Forefront What Clark said - that McCain has no experience in national security decision-making - is absolutely true, and it's a point that needs emphasis repeatedly and effectively by someone who can deliver it. Clark has a 34 year service record, has won a war, commanded troops all over the world, and nearly died of his injuries in Vietnam. He has run for President and been a surrogate for hundreds of Democrats all over the country, including Ned Lamont. He was against the war in Iraq, and knows the military bureaucracy inside and out. This is someone who would make an insanely good Vice President, and someone who has deep connections to the newly formed progressive communities that emerged from 2002-2006. Senator Obama would do well to choose Clark as his running mate.

POPSThe Media's "Wes Clark Hyperventorama"
Gen. Clark was absolutely right in his praise and valid criticism of Sen. McCain. Bob Schieffer has an opportunity here to show himself to be a responsible journalist by putting the comments back in their proper context, i.e. when he makes his closing comments on Face the Nation. But I'm not holding my breath on that one! Brandon, can you get the vets in your "Veterans Respond to General Clark's Comments" on video? YouTube would be a great vehicle for this. Thanks for the posts. for the last four years, so I am not acclimatized to the US media anymore. WTF happened to my country????? No one has bothered to look at McCains voting record on vet issues for the last twenty years. He's voted no on practically every piece of legislation benefiting the VA. If he used his "military/vet/pow" creds to boost the VA, then I and many of my younger brothers and sisters from Iraq and Afghanistan would probably not have the serious problems they have getting their benefits.

POPSDefending Wes Clark Cont... "Is what Wesley Clark said true? Let's check some other facts: John McCain made claims about progress in security by walking through the streets of Baghdad. But as I recall, he was protected by at least a platoon of American soldiers and helicopters lying overhead. In matters of national security, as General Clark pointed out, "it's a matter of understanding risk," and it's "gauging your opponents;" and it's also a "matter of being held accountable."

POPSWesley Clark on Face the Nation: CNN accuses Clark of “Swiftboating” So how does CNN characterize this tête-à-tête? That Wesley Clark was SWIFTBOATING John McCain! Rick Sanchez’s lead-in to his next segment just now on CNN: “Wesley Clark tried to Swiftboat John McCain today.” I’m liveblogging. He goes on to say: “It will reverberate for weeks. Wes Clark tried to diss McCain’s military record, that his service doesn’t qualify him to be president.” Rick Sanchez is mad. No, not mad…just a huge partisan hack. Now that “swift-boating” has entered the vernacular, let us remember that the original SwiftBoat Veterans for “Truth” were for the most part neither in their hope to take down Kerry’s candidacy. Has Wesley Clark in some way made any untrue allegations in saying that being a POW and a non-combat era fighter pilot does not necessarily qualify you for the highest elected office in the land?

POPSGen. Wes Clark questions McCain's experience "having served as a fighter pilot doesn't prepare you to be commander-in-chief..." I've wondered about that - about exactly what it was that being a war hero 35 years ago contributes toward one's executive capability. Seems like a non sequitur to me. And fair game, since he brings it up every day.

POPSTHE REAL DO-GOODERS VERSUS THE PSEUDO DO-GOODERS Their impassioned desires to make the ENTIRE world look the way THEY want it is a utopian dream - FOR A NARCISSIST! And they don't care if their utopia is just an unrealistic dream. Or, if it's been proven to be a nightmare in other nations, in other centuries. WHY!? Because: For the leftist, it's more about looking like their helping, than really helping.

POPSTELL CONGRESS TO DUMP RUSH Please join General Wes Clark's petition to remove the bigotry of Rush Limbaugh from military radio. Our troops deserve better, they should not be subjected to the lies, distortions and prejudice of this demagogue who's self interest and lack of concern for anyone but himself is beyond belief.

POPSFormer General Wes Clark, Jr. wants to know if you've HAD ENOUGH! From his blog at the Daily Kos: Enough of seeing the Constitution trashed? Enough of the corruption? Enough of the war? Enough of the gutless response of our elected Democratic representatives? If you're answer is yes, he has a suggestion. Every week, starting this Sunday, he and his friend Cenk Uyger will be going to the corner of Veteran and Wilshire in West LA, and they're asking that people in other cities to hold similar one-hour protests in their local areas to help spread the message. Obviously, I can't go myself, but I'm hoping that by posting this, maybe one or two of you will decide to go or will pass it on to your own friends. A Clark notes in his full post (click the link below to read the whole thing), the government isn't listening to any of us at this point - and the only way to change that is to get large enough groups out making it clear they've had enough that the message can no longer be ignored.
