POPSDuring Lean Times Parents Risk Dip In Popularity
Lavish parties for children are one of the many reasons so many kids are spoiled brats. They get everything they want without restraint while mom and dad go broke trying to give them everything to make up for having to work to pay for all the lavish crap little Tommy and Janey want. There is no need to spend exorbitant funds on food and party favors. Give the kids DIY activities and snacks, and some cheesy goodie bags and they'll have more fun than any lavish carnival or circus style party in the long run. For the record, that's a rule in good and lean times in our house, especially when we have two birthdays and Christmas that come within six weeks of each other. We can't spend lavishly when the holidays are also so close. Also, kids need to hear the word "no" every once in a while to really appreciate the power of "yes". If they always get, they will take everything for granted. And, we don't need to be raising anymore GWBs, if you know what I mean...

POPSHow Counseling For Engaged Couples Help Newlyweds http://www.josephmalinak.com Marriage is more than a long term relationship. And counseling for engaged couples is one of the places you first learn that. As long as you take responsibility for the effectiveness of the counseling, you may never find yourself ending this long term relationship called marriage. You can make pre-marital counseling more than something you check off your to do list, turning it into a rite of passage that helps you enter your new adult world of being married. And if this is your second or third time around the wedding vows, you can use pre-marital counseling to make this one last a lifetime! For More Information please visit http://www.josephmalinak.com

POPSCupcake Project: An Experimental Cupcake Blog
"At dinner one night, some good friends mentioned that they were trying to decide where to buy cupcakes for their wedding. I surprised myself and others at the table by offering to bake for them. My friends surprised me by accepting…I decided to master the cupcake by then and let them pick their favorite three or four out of all of my experiments. There were just a few rules that I laid down: * I must like the cupcakes. I refuse to serve anything I don't like. This rules out both peanut butter and mint. * The cupcakes are not going to look perfect. I consider myself a good baker but I am not a perfectionist. They will look homemade. However, I will try my best to make them look pretty…I began my cupcake obsession because of the Bride and Groom and it only continues to grow. I am now onto my second Cupcake Project. I'm making cupcakes for other friends of mine who I refer to as Bride and Groom 2.0. Their wedding is Oct. 12, 2008. They have not yet picked their flavors."

POPSHome "staging"... a growth industry? Last time I sold a house was in 1989 - 19 years ago. I was 47 then. Bought and sold 13 homes before 1989 and NEVER heard the term "staging". Now apparently it's a profession... it's an industry... heck it's a GROWTH industry. There are individuals and companies out there who you can pay to help you get your residence ready to sell. Maybe I'm just getting old and cynical, but it sounds a lot like the wedding planning industry to me. Just another frilly way for us to spend money... unnecessarily.

What is the fascination with Star Wars Wedding Themes? "Alien" and "Jaws" were movie favs of mine (back in the day). I never thought of theming them out for my wedding. Anyway, this is a really excellent Wedding Blog. I got a chuckle from the pictures.
