POPSGoogle's GDrive a Power-Grab, Make PCs Obsolete Bye, bye Microsoft Operating System. Remote or "cloud computing" would operate from Google servers instead of the PC. Privacy would be sacrificed and Google is positioned for dominance. Seems like MS stock would take a dive too. The GDrive would follow this logic to its conclusion by shifting the contents of a user's hard drive to the Google servers. The PC would be a simpler, cheaper device acting as a portal to the web, perhaps via an adaptation of Google's operating system for mobile phones, Android.Users would think of their computer as software rather than hardware.

POPS Could GDrive From Google "Kill" Off The Desktop PC? Google's rumored "GDrive," a service that would enable users to access their PCs from any Internet connection, could kill off the desktop computer, The Guardian has reported. Google refused to confirm the GDrive, but acknowledged the growing demand for cloud computing. "There's a clear direction ... away from people thinking, 'This is my PC, this is my hard drive,' to 'This is how I interact with information, this is how I interact with the web,'" said Dave Armstrong, head of product and marketing for Google Enterprise.

POPSLinux Mint - The Elegant Ubuntu
Open Source, Linux Mint is an offshoot of the Ubuntu Base Distribution. The operating system can be customised with a package repository that holds over 23000 programs, inluding source codes. It can be installed alongside windows, There is the need to learn some operating commands, but its handy to find out whats going on behind the screen. I didn't have a clue about Linux a few months ago, but the hardest thing was starting. I installed Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10, and started to play with some other variants including Ultimate, Ultimate Gamer, and Mint. I was having wso much fun, I burned out my RAM just after Christmas, (It was a Hot Day.) I've found answers to problems through the support communities, and I don't need to look for Programs or applications. The next base Upgrade will be named 8.04 Hardy Heron, and there is an upgrade faculity in the update manager. I thought I'd use Mint as an example . If I'm going to bring a Gutsty Gibbon to clipmarks I want it to be wearing a suit

POPSYouTube restores account of Egypt anti-torture blogger Abbas was a key player last year in distributing a clip of an Egyptian bus driver, his hands bound, being sodomized with a stick by a police officer -- imagery that sparked an uproar in a country where rights groups say torture is commonplace. That tape prompted an investigation that led to a rare conviction of two policemen, who were sentenced to three years in prison for torture. Egypt says it opposes torture and prosecutes police against whom it has evidence of misconduct.
