It has two long overhead rail circuits, varying in height between two and four metres above the ground. High-performance pedal-powered vehicles hang under the tracks. The pods swing freely from side to side and as your speed picks up, you swing wildly around corners and soar high and low over undulating terrain. Up to five vehicles can be loaded onto each track, enabling teams to race each other either one-on-one or in tandem or you can race against the clock.

So the region seemed to be in the grip of unusually wet spells at the time. That may have been enough to allow sub-Saharan Stone Age Homo sapiens to migrate north: the first fossils of modern humans outside Africa date from 93,000 year ago in Israel. And both genetic analysis and archaeology show that humans didn't spread extensively beyond Africa until 50,000 years ago, suggesting a second migration at the time of the second wet spell. Fossil record Ian Tattersall of the American Museum of Natural History in New York is impressed by the findings. "They tie in approximately with the information we have from the fossil record."

POPSWatch out for the trolls, but don't take your eye off of the road Trollstigen is closed during the fall and winter months. A normal opening season stretches from the middle of May to October, but may sometimes be shorter or longer due to changes in the weather conditions, or unexpected trolls of course. In the summer of 2005 the road was repaired and about 16 million NOK was spent on protection against rockfall, making the road a lot safer to drive on....that is unless you aren't watching closely......for the trolls.....bwahahahahahaha......

POPSAres I-X Launch: NASA's New Rocket Blasts Off On Test Flight The prototype moon rocket took off through a few clouds from a former shuttle launch pad at 11:30 a.m., 3 1/2 hours late because of bad weather. Launch controllers had to retest the rocket systems after more than 150 lightning strikes were reported around the pad overnight. Then they had to wait out interfering rain clouds, the same kind that thwarted Tuesday's try. The ballistic flight did not come close to reaching space and, as expected, lasted a mere two minutes. That's how long it took for the first-stage solid-fuel booster to burn out and separate from the mock upper stage 25 miles up. But it will take months to analyze all the data from the approximately 725 pressure, strain and acceleration sensors.
