Pollution control and new technology an uphill battle
Togo
by Togo  7-30-2007
Such inventions deserve encouragement and funding.....but in the end it is treating the symptoms, not the illness. The world's population is increasing at a rate that may prove unsustainable.....and it is unlikely that countries such as China will ever adopt these technologies due to the cost factor.

At a time when the delicate ecosystems need to be considered the advance in sustainable energy systems is to be welcomed. As the cost of the technology drops here is hoping more countries will play their part.

Great Global Warming Swindle - Part 1 of 2
crabsallover
by crabsallover  3-22-2007
New Scientist magazine rebuts the Great Global Warming Swindle arguement - that the increase in climate temperatures is as a result of increased solar activity dampening down the effect of cosmic rays (which increase cloud cover and reduce global temperatures).

Earth and moon viewer
misty90210
by misty90210  11-14-2007
Viewing the Earth You can view either a map of the Earth showing the day and night regions at this moment, or view the Earth from the Sun, the Moon, the night side of the Earth, above any location on the planet specified by latitude, longitude and altitude, from a satellite in Earth orbit, or above various cities around the globe. Images can be generated based on a full-colour image of the Earth by day and night, a topographical map of the Earth, up-to-date weather satellite imagery, or a composite image of cloud cover superimposed on a map of the Earth, a colour composite which shows clouds, land and sea temperatures, and ice, or the global distribution of water vapour. Expert mode allows you additional control over the generation of the image. You can compose a custom request with frequently-used parameters and save it as a hotlist or bookmark item in your browser. Please consult the Details for additional information and answers to frequently-asked questions. Viewing the Moon
