POPSJoe Wilson Exposed as Pathological Liar
When he was in the sixth grade, he lied about painting swastikas on Chung's Low-Country Chinese Restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina, which he mistook for a Jewish Temple. "We had to wash out that boy's mouth so much," said Mamie Pittypat, 93, retired principal of Wilson's alma mater, the Brigadier General Hamilton Prioleau Bee Elementary School, "that he had bubbles coming out of his ass!". Throughout his high school career, he insisted that he was really the love child of Strom Thurmond and Dolly Parton. His lying prowess in college soon made him legendary, earning him the nickname "Jivin' Joe", which he was known to hate because it sounded "so NEGRO". He was such a prolific liar while attending the University of South Carolina School of Law that they made him Valedictorian, and he received more offers from real estate firms than any graduate in the school's history. He went on to make a fortune selling condemned buildings to illegal immigrants before he co-founded the law fir

POPSFor Redskins Fans, Hard Luck Runs Into Team’s Hard Line Hill couldn't afford a lawyer. She did not fight the lawsuit or even respond to it because, she said, she believes that the Bible says that it is morally wrong not to pay your debts. The team won a default judgment of $66,364. Hill is one of 125 season ticket holders who asked to be released from multiyear contracts and were sued by the Redskins in the past five years. The Washington Post interviewed about two dozen of them. Most said that they were victims of the economic downturn, having lost a job or experiencing some other financial hardships.

POPSObama Too Obsessed With Bush-Bashing To Do Anything Worthwhile
Despite his reluctance to “look backward,” Obama made clear in April that he was deferring to Holder on whether to prosecute Bush administration lawyers who drafted the legal justification for the interrogation techniques employed by the CIA on terror detainees. Three months later, Holder is leaning toward appointing a prosecutor, and he could name one in a matter of weeks, a decision apparently made after reading a classified version of the CIA inspector general’s report on enhanced interrogation techniques and other material. But if a prosecutor is appointed, it could be virtually impossible to limit the scope of the investigation, Rivkin said, noting that once a special prosecutor is appointed, he or she is given “unrestrained resources” and expected to find wrongdoing. As a result, a special prosecutor’s investigation broadens and shifts course, distracting the attention of Washington " as in the cases of former President Bill Clinton’s real estate dealings . . . .

POPS Is She Watching You . . . . .
" he consequences of a prolonged economic downturn – including real estate foreclosures, unemployment and an inability to obtain credit – could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and government authorities similar to those in the past," the report says. Most notable is the report's focus on the impact of returning war veterans. "Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists," it says. "DHS/I&A is concerned that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities." aw enforcement agencies to watch for suspicious individuals who may have bumper stickers for third-party bumper stickers. POPSA Backlash Against Obama's Budget LOBBYISTS PLAN PROTESTS So business is hitting hard on the theme that the budget will squeeze vitality out of the economy. Says Jay Timmons, head of government affairs at the National Association of Manufacturers: "They're taking a tremendous amount of money out of the private sector, which will hamper the ability of business to create and retain jobs." The American Petroleum Institute plans to battle Obama's proposals to reduce the industry's tax breaks through presentations to newspaper editorial boards and visits to Washington by top oil company executives and employees, plus drop-ins by ordinary shareholders. The messages: Obama will increase U.S. reliance on foreign oil by eliminating the deduction for drilling in the U.S. and put at risk up to 6 million jobs directly and indirectly reliant on the industry. "They are going to push more of the investment offshore," said Mark Kibbe, the institute's chief lobbyist.

POPSWhere Are They Now: The Clinton Impeachment
Elected twice without ever achieving the majority of the popular vote, President Clinton become the only elected president in the history of the U.S. to be impeached, disbarred from practicing law, and accused of rape by a credible witness. As a chief beneficiary of President Reagan's world vision and the high technology boom of the 1990s, President Clinton enjoyed many of the benefits of residing over relative peace and prosperity. Beneath this thin veneer of economic prosperity, however, existed the most corrupt and scandalous administration in history. Consensual sex may be a private matter, but when a sexual relationship influences a public court case involving the President of the United States, the consensual sex becomes publicly relevant. The Clinton administration holds the all-time record for having the greatest number of associates who have: resigned under fire, pleaded the Fifth, fled the country, gone to jail, or died under mysterious circumstances.

POPSGovernor's Office Deluged With Calls On Atheist Sign In Capitol Rotunda The Capitol has had a holiday tree, provided by the Association of Washington Business, for 19 years. In 2006, it was joined by a menorah sponsored by a Seattle Jewish group. That prompted a lawmaker from Spokane to stage a protest at the Capitol, demanding the holiday tree be called a "Christmas tree." It also led a local real estate agent to sue the state to allow the nativity display depicting the birth of Jesus. Gregoire, a Democrat, and Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna put out a joint statement Wednesday noting that the federal lawsuit led the state to create a policy allowing groups to sponsor a display "regardless of that individual's or group's views."

POPSFBI Asking Questions On Rezko-Obama Land Deal
MarketWatch reports that FBI investigators are asking questions about the Rezko-Obama land deal. ...Chicago real estate developer Tony Rezko was convicted June 16 on felony counts of fraud, money laundering, and aiding and abetting a bribery scheme involving kickbacks from companies wanting to do business with the state... Conner said his appraisal of the Rezko property, held in Rita Malki Rezko's name, was replaced with a higher one and he was fired when he questioned the document. ...According to his complaint, Mr. Conner reviewed the appraisal of the Rezko property by another firm, Adams Appraisal, which had set the value at $625,000. The complaint said he told his bosses the property had been overvalued by at least $125,000 and that a “reasonable and fair evaluation” should have been no greater than $500,000. Mr. Conner said the removal of his appraisal “seemed understood as a crime with respect to the subpoena” of the Rezko property and the FDIC audit.

POPSSound Bites And Sloganeering Just Won’t Cut It Anymore even including such environmentally sensitive countries as the United Kingdom, Norway and France—to limit oil and gas exploration to this extent. Gulf of Mexico that hold billions of barrels of oil and gas are inaccessible for purely political reasons. Appeasing Florida’s real-estate and tourism industries has been more important than U.S. energy security. In addition, politicians throw red meat to the crowd by promising to punish the oil industry for its huge profits, overlooking the small problem that much of this profit is not even made in the United States. In fact, it is not the oil companies, but producing countries like Venezuela, Mexico, Iran and Russia that are provoking the pending production crunch through lack of investment. National oil companies now control nearly 80 percent of worldwide reserves, leaving major Western multinationals with full access to only 6 percent.

POPSMcCain's Fortunes and Family Tied to Mob Jerome Corsi reveals some important and relevant background of the Arizona Senator who pretends to be a champion of "ethics" and accountability of government, while his own past has many skeletons, some flesh still on them. A general defense could be suggested by many that this was merely the rebellion (justifiable in the eyes of many) from days of Prohibition of alcohol, which laws were later repealed (justifiably so). However, this defense will not wash in regard to the Arizona Savings and Loan Scandal, which overthrew almost every bank in the Southwest and reorganized them under national chains (e.g. Bank of America), and his identity as one of the "Keating Five". His marriage to his present mob-boss-daughter wife cements some suspicious ties. Bottom line is that McCain is neither a "war hero" (see previous clip article), nor a champion of "ethics" in Washington.

POPSHagerstown, MD, idea This is an interesting idea... an ALL affordable development. This goes against my grain a bit, since I'd prefer to see mixed income communities where developers offer a range of choices to a range of buyers, but they certainly have a good idea!
