POPSSleep Last Night?............ Don't forget they are serving to protect us and the world. Makes us realize our problems are minuscule, no matter how bad they are. They are our true heroes!

POPSRemnants of Childhood - do you have any? "...there's a brand-spankin' new Walmart that opened near me with mint-condition shopping carts and a fresh, smooth parking lot with a ever-so-slight down hill slope to the cars from the store. A few jogging steps is all I need to roll myself and my groceries from the front doors all the way to the far end of the lot."

POPSI Love When The Courts Smack Walmart I make no bones about it; I despise Walmart and everything it stands for. The exploit and take total advantage of the workers they so condescendingly refer to as "associates." They thrive off the cheap and child labour or the third world and make it sound like they are doing the world a favour. And they have so many poor Americans believing they are getting bargains without ever admitting to the way they are able to keep their prices low or how they are keeping their employees on week to week subsistence levels of income. I am glad the courts are cracking down. Problem is, they can so easily afford these judgments that it probably won't hurt them a bit. The only thing that will actually do them so real damage, is when or if the American people wake up and stop falling for Walmart's so-called bargain prices.

POPSNobel Tops 'SNL' for Obama Joke by Mark Steyn
What "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy" did he make in those first 12 days? Bowing to the Saudi king? Giving the British prime minister the Walmart discount box of "Twenty Classic Movies You've Seen A Thousand Times"? "Er, Barack, I've already seen these." "That's OK. They won't work in your DVD player anyway." For these and other "extraordinary efforts" in "cooperation between peoples", President Obama is now the fastest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in history. Alas, the extraordinary efforts of those first 12 days are already ancient history. Reflecting the new harmony of U.S.-world relations since the administration hit the "reset" button, The Times of London declared the award "preposterous," and Svenska Freds (the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society) called it "shameful." Why, only the other day, very conversationally, the administration floated the trial balloon that it could live with the Taliban returning to government in Afghanistan.

POPSWalmart Once Again Proves It Puts Money Above Life Every time I read a story like this about Walmart, I just wanna cry and/or scream. And yet, with all the abuse this company inflicts on its employees, the workers who manufacture some of their products, and the way they continue to ruin small town America and beyond, I see people streaming into their stores to take advantage of the ultra-cheap prices. I wonder how many of these people ever stop for even a moment to think about the high cost of these cheap prices. The high cost in human suffering and degradation that makes it possible to save some dimes on their purchases of cheap, plasticized crap.

POPSACORN Tentacles Spread Throughout White House Staff
particularly targeting corporations like Wal-Mart: What the Obama Administration’s Buffy Wicks did with Wakeup, and it continues to do with an apparent partnership with ACORN, is to engage in a “corporate campaign” against Wal-Mart in an attempt to inflict as much financial stress on its target as possible. For an insiders view of what it is like to be a target of a corporate campaign a good read is Dave Bego’s book, The Devil at My Doorstep, a chronicle of the shameless three-year corporate campaign he and his employees endured. These corporate campaigns are not about worker choice, they are about inflicting financial costs and public image damages to companies like Bego’s and Wal-Mart. Essentially, this means that Buffy Wicks was a professional troublemaker hired by Big Labor to work hand-in-hand with ACORN in an effort to inflict pain to bring one of the nation’s largest employers to its knees. So far, the efforts by Wicks and ACORN have only served to reduce . . .

POPSThe Ghoul's Glossary: the 2008 Election Withdrawal: A way to avoid the worst consequences of a moment of pleasurable conquest, which, however, often comes too late to avoid years of support payments. Youth vote: The expectation that 21-year-olds will save the nation from the folly of their elders, in preference to gulping shots from the navels of hot barmaids during a Tuesday happy hour. Zionism: The theory that because Nazis hated Jews, the latter would be much better off all gathered together on disputed land in the midst of 300 million Arabs and Iranians.

POPSWal-Mart: "Every Day Price Frauds" More: If you think you save money going there regularly, Wal-Mart is playing you for a fool. There is no good reason to shop at Wal-Mart except that you have absolutely no other choice. . . . PS While we're at it, there's no such thing as the Easter Bunny, you don't get all "A"s if your roommate commits suicide and there were no weapons of mass destruction.

POPSPa. Woman, daughter hold signs admitting theft Excellent punishment for a minor crime. Why clog up the jails or let them off with a fine? I wish this kind of thing would be done more often. It's practical, effective, and hopefully a teachable few hours.

POPSA Prespective on Megachurches I found this in a comment in one of the blogs I read. I found it incredibly fascinating. Megachurches are more like Walmart, and small churches are like those mom-and-pop stores which are threatened. Interesting.

POPSHigh cost of low prices I don't shop at Walmart, unless it's an extreme emergency and then I feel guilty and usually end up throwing out what I bought there.

POPSCan you hear me now???? I had a former employee call me earlier today inquiring about a job, and at the end of the conversation he gave me his phone number. I asked the former employee if this was a new cell phone number and he told me yes this was his “Obama phone.” I asked him what an “Obama phone” was and he went on to say that welfare recipients are now eligible to receive (1) a FREE new phone and (2) approx 70 minutes of FREE minutes every month. I was a little skeptical so I Googled it and low and behold he was telling the truth. TAX PAYER MONEY IS BEING REDISTRIBUTED TO WELFARE RECIPIENTS FOR FREE CELL PHONES. This program was started earlier this year. Enough is enough, the ship is sinking and it’s sinking fast. The very foundations that this country was built on are being shaken.. The age old concepts of God, family, and hard work have flown out the window and are being replaced with “Hope and Change” and “Change we can believe in.”

POPSWal-Mart's threat to America After a recent discussion about Wal-Mart here, I thought I'd just let everyone know about some of the issues in question about them. Also if you haven't seen the documentary "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price" yet, I suggest doing so; it gives even more info on criticisms that are not found in this article.
