POPSDizzler - All in 1 Mediaplayer Online - TOP!
Dizzler free downloadable application allows users to search online and play free music, videos, games, and radio stations on their desktop or mobile device. Our goal is to create a place where media creators and users can come together and share their passion. We want our members to be able to enjoy all of the free media content on the web as safely and easily as possible without any SPYWARE, ADWARE or storage constraints. All you need is access to the internet and our free media player. Where does the music, video and games come from? When you make a search, Dizzler only returns publicly available content from the Internet. Dizzler’s technology indexes and then encrypts in-line links to 3rd party websites that publicly host media using the same standards and practices as the major search engines (Google, Yahoo). This encryption prevents Dizzler users from accessing the actual paths to content in order to thwart inappropriate downloading, copying or sharing of files.

POPSLifelike Animation Breakthrough AMD last week released a new chip with a billion transistors that will be able to show off creations such as Emily by allowing a much greater number of computations per second. "If you're trying to process the graphics in a photo-realistic animation, in real-time, there's a lot of computation involved," said Mr Koduri. He said that AMD's new chip - the Radeon HD 4870 X2 - was able to process 2.4 teraflops of information per second, meaning it had a capability similar to a computer that - only 12 years ago - would have filled a room. AMD's chip fits inside a standard PC. But he said that the line between what was real and what was rendered would not be blurred completely until 2020.

POPScandle4tibet The world's greatest LIGHT PROTEST will take place on August 7th 2008 - one day before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. At least 100 million people from all over the world will light a candle and say YES for freedom in Tibet! The Campaign started on facebook from the desktop of David Califa, 52, a retired private individual with an investment banking background, from Ramat Hasharon, Israel. Mr. Califa has been financing it with his own private funds. "Candle for Tibet" has quickly developed into a global movement which operates from a multilingual (25 languages, all translated by volunteers) web site with its own social network alongside.

POPSGamers Make Better Surgeons Yet another study, by Fordham University, measured the effect of learning a new video game on problem-solving skills in middle school aged children. It found that "playing video games can improve cognitive and perceptual skills." "Certain types of video games can have beneficial effects improving gamers' dexterity as well as their ability to problem solve - attributes that have proven useful not only to students but to surgeons," the researchers found. There are actually "games" where you perform virtual operations, BTW.

POPSBorn 1920-1979? Congratulations...
No one was able to reach us all day.And we were OK. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just wal

POPSRobot Therapy To 'Recharge' Stroke Victims' Arms
The other half are assigned to the robot group. This is less exciting than it sounds. The robot looks more like a garden-variety brace or splint that is strapped to the wrist, elbow or shoulder, depending on which joint is being used. A flat-screen computer monitor displays colorful dancing dots a la 1980s video games. Using a joystick, the patient is challenged to hit moving targets on the screen, using the stroke-weakened arm. If the patient cannot move the arm, the machine helps. If the machine senses any movement by the patient, it backs off, letting the injured arm do more of the work. Even if the patient at first cannot accomplish the task, the very act of thinking that the arm should move, then having it touch the correct target propelled by the robot, starts to restore or rebuild circuits in the brain, said Hermano Igo Krebs, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology-trained mechanical engineer who developed the device known as MIT-Manus.

POPSUS to House Diplomats in Iran, Oil Prices Drop This is the real reason oil prices dropped sharply today, when this news broke overseas, 5 hours ahead of US time. NBC Nightly News tonight had it right (video here) in interview with economist who said oil prices have included an "Iran premium" due to war rhetoric from US and Israel. Immediately the price fell when it looks like diplomacy might open up a bit.
