POPSBusiness and ObamaCare "Democrats have defined success as dragging any bill into law as quickly as possible, no matter how damaging, while leaving the mess it creates to be cleaned up in the future once the entitlement is entrenched and higher taxes are inevitable."

POPSThis is the worst review of Amplify ever...
So why am i Amplifying this horrible review of Amplify? Honestly, i'm not exactly sure. Hopefully by the time I stop writing this, i'll figure it out. This review was posted by a user who I exchanged several emails with, trying to understand the problems he was having and doing our best to fix whatever we could. Most of the time, his complaints were hard to understand and didn't even seem sensible. So it really stinks that his review now sits as a stain on the official Amplify Firefox Extension page. I wish there was a place i could go to post a review of ConJunTuraL. I think this is what I'd say. "Before you go bashing a company, give some thought to whether your complaints are reasonable. Give some thought to whether your broken English might have impacted their ability to understand and address your concerns. Give some thought to the fact that as a free service, Amplify provides better customer support than Verizon, AT&T or Comcast. Give some thought that by posting

POPSGuess Who Wants to Control the Internet? On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart took up the issue of "net neutrality" and Senator John McCain's efforts to create one of those ironically named pieces of legislation that sounds like it is going to deliver something good -- in this case "Internet Freedom" -- but would actually make the Internet suck out loud, forever and ever. POPSCyber-Security Bill Permits President to "Seize Temporary Control of Private Sector Networks During A So-Called... Emergency The bill would allow the president to unilaterally declare "a cybersecurity emergency" for non-governmental computer networks in order to respond to a threat. Other sections of the bill go even further: they proscribe government-controlled certification programs that license computer security professionals. And it goes on to demand that certain, privately-owned computer systems and networks be managed only by those professionals who have achieved the federal certification. In all seriousness: if you were elected President and wanted to transform the U.S. into a third-world banana republic like Venezuela, how would your policies differ from those of Obama?

POPSThe Rip-Off Cellphone Industry Apple with its iPhone have shown us that that wireless industry is not about phones anymore but web communication and even web existence. When you can navigate with your phone, watch news and podcasts, read any newspaper or book right away, check current weather condition and even your own weight and overall health, stocks, bank accounts and e-mails from any domain, make pretty decent pictures and even movies, listen your favorite songs and movies on the go along with countless other unimaginable possibilities - our relations with our carriers must be honest and transparent. What's the point to cheat in digital era? To become mockery again and again? Besides off respondents in class-action suits?

POPSPhone recommendation Just passing along a little feedback on this new release for those who aren't big on blackberry or iphone. I upgraded to this just released model about two weeks ago. It hadn't even hit the floor yet, but they let me have it because they were out of stock on the previous model. My wife and I both got one and we find them exceptional. For anyone who takes a lot of pictures with their phone, I don;t believe there is a better camera option out there (it will blow you away). I have mine fully loaded with gps, vcast, internet browsing etc and the ease of use and speed is really good. .....just a word on a new product for anyone interested.

POPSAds pulled over radio hosts' transgender remarks Free speech is a cherished right. We also have the right to turn the dial to another station. I applaud these businesses for exercising their right not to support this type of hate mongering. Now, if only advertisers supporting Bill O’Reilly’s show would exercise the same conscience and good sense.

POPSDemocrats Sneak Net Neutrality Rules Into 'Stimulus' Bill
last year that they could "inefficiently skew investment, delay innovation, and diminish consumer welfare, and there is reason to believe that the kinds of broad marketplace restrictions proposed in the name of 'neutrality' would do just that, with respect to the Internet." A report from the Federal Trade Commission reached the same conclusion in 2007. As recently as one day ago, a Democratic Senate aide was saying the topic would be addressed in the Judiciary Committee in the near future; there seems little reason to rush to lard up this particular legislation. But it always seems to happen. Last fall's TARP bailout bill included IRS snooping. A port security bill included Internet gambling restrictions; the Real ID Act was glued onto a military spending and tsunami relief bill; a library filtering law was attached to a destined-to-be-enacted bill funding Congress itself. It's enough to make you want to force our elected representatives to actually read the bills they pass.

POPSA Horse, A Hearse, And A Sense Of Duty "Melgosa inadvertently entered the funeral business in 1991, when her father died two months after being diagnosed with cancer. She and her siblings wanted to celebrate his life with something special and hit upon the idea of using a horse-drawn hearse to carry his body to the cemetery. But they couldn't find one. After her father's funeral, Melgosa and one of her brothers tracked down an $8,400 wooden funeral coach, made in 1867, at an antiques auction in Pennsylvania. They bought a draft horse and a trailer to haul the horse and carriage and decided to go into business. But there was scant interest, and Melgosa's brother quickly gave up. Melgosa kept going. She offers free funerals for children and law enforcement officers, as well as for members of the military. She pays her bills by running a local Verizon shop and selling antiques online."

POPSNow this is what Second Life is for... "the ideas and visions for students here is endless. Economics majors can do research and learn the values of the Linden Dollar (L$) - Second Life's general source of currency. Psychology majors can meet new people and talk to them about their experiences and how it relates to Second Life. Art majors can go behind the scenes making their own buildings or putting their newest creations in a digital gallery. Business majors can follow the trends of the Second Life marketplace and marketing majors can learn how it all works."
