POPSCongresswoman Dina Titus urges constituents to print their own money Earlier in the year, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner unveiled a new program designed to combat falling prices, called the No Sales & Low Prices, or NOSLOP, program. The target is for consumer staples to rise at least four or five times wages. So far, the efforts have failed to make prices rise substantially. This failure has been blamed on inadequate money printing measures by the Fed. "The Treasury has a plurality of tools at its disposal to combat price deflation and prevent people from finding bargains. We all know that consumers get upset at low prices, so we started a new program called No Sales & Low Prices . We are asking consumers to report any store that is advertising anything as being on sale, or if they find anything on a store shelf that is marked down," said Treasury Secretary Geithner. It is now a federal felony to lower prices without the approval of President Obama's Consumer Price Czar.

POPSObama Helps Strengthen General Electric-Putin Ties "U.S. companies have arguably lost out to some European companies in joint ventures, and better diplomacy will likely improve the chances for investors in the strategic sectors of the Russian economy," said Carlo Gallo, senior Russia analyst at London-based consultancy Control Risks. POPSHas Japan's Dolphin Slaughter Been Prevented?
Today, the dolphin slaughter was set to begin in Taiji, but the tides there may have changed. Here's a dispatch from O'Barry who has just returned to Japan for the start of the killing season: When I got off the bus at the Cove this afternoon, I was accompanied by my son Lincoln O'Barry's film crew, a crew from Associated Press, Der Spiegel (the largest magazine in Germany), and the London Independent. No dolphins and no dolphin killers. We would not have had a story at all, except for the police who were there, waiting all day for us to appear. Nine policemen came to talk to us... And as I was talking with the police, as the international journalists stood around listening, suddenly a camera crew arrived from Japan! And then another! And then still another! You have to understand that this is SO IMPORTANT. These TV stations have REFUSED to cover the story in Taiji for years and years. NOW, for the first time, they have shown up, with cameras rolling. T

POPSJust say No to Government Motors and Obamacars
History tells us that ventures between government and private enterprise are highly unlikely to succeed. Rolls Royce and British Leyland Motor Corporation were nationalized by the British government. Neither intervention succeeded in making either company profitable. The DNA of America is coded with private enterprise and individual risk-taking and reward. The idea of the government owning businesses of any sort is not merely bad economics, it is terrible government. Any American who values their traditions of free enterprise and political freedom will urge the federal government to disinvest itself from these companies immediately. The federal government can quickly put its controlling stake in the companies on the market and do so at whatever price makes the market. There are plenty of great cars out there. You don't have to buy one that costs not just your cash, but also your commitment to free enterprise and all the benefits that flow from it.

POPS@mashable launches social ad creator Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, i have to give Mashable credit for consistently inovating; first with pumping corporate tweets into ads and now the social ad creator, which seems like a very cool idea. On the other hand, i'm finding them to be less credible as an social news source as the lines have become blurred given their participation in joint ventures (or perhaps even ownership?) of companies they often cover.

POPSIn France, a Government-Led Revolution in Entrepreneurship But there are some caveats to the scheme's success. First, it's primarily aimed at individuals who already have jobs or unemployed or retired people who yearn to try their hand at a service they think might find a market. Because of that, new companies created by auto-entrepreneurs start out as single-person operations and usually as part-time or moonlighting ventures. If business starts booming, neophyte owners seeking to expand by taking on employees have to register under the normal labor regime, which means assuming the taxes and salary-linked social charges that prove so dissuasive to many would-be entrepreneurs in the first place.

POPSObama’s ‘Advisory’ Board on Climate: Little Dissent from consumers and taxpayers through bogus Al Gore-endorsed “green technologies.” If you’re thinking that Doerr is only one voice on the ERAB and that less-biased heads will prevail, think again. Here are the other ERAB members and their interests/positions on cap-and-trade: * Austan Goolsbee as staff director and chief economist (Obama administration); * William H. Donaldson, SEC Chair, 2003-05 (Obama supporter who has spoken in support of climate legislation); * Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., president and CEO, TIAA-CREF (TIAA-CREF promotes climate change legislation through shareholder activism and possibly stands to benefit from “green” investments); * Robert Wolf, chairman and CEO, UBS (sells climate change-related financial products); * David F. Swensen, CIO, Yale University (Yale supports climate change legislation); * Mark T. Gallogly, founder and managing partner, Centerbridge Partners L.P. (early Obama supporter);

POPSA THINKING MIND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!
WHY ARE RELIGIONS SO HELL BENT ON FORCING OTHERS TO OBEY THEIR MYTHICAL LAWS AND DOGMA? Especially, on the right to choose to have a legal (or illegal if some religions were to have their way) abortion? I don't even want to think about the RELIGIOUS STANCE against medical or any other scientific research that would better educate us on understanding our existence. Why do religions want to keep the intelligent and inquisitive human brain in the dark? Are they afraid that enlightenment would cause their numbers to shrink? If that's the case then they are fighting a losing battle. Because no matter how hard, this one track mindset, will try to keep knowledge under wraps; it WILL escape and wrap its beautiful arms around all. Then, all mankind will be awarded the magnificent beauty to “THINK” to Infinity and Beyond! ATTENTION ALL RELIGIONS: THIS IS ONE THINKING MIND WHO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW! Sorry for all the clichés and the buoyant language. :-D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MQnjebDlZk

POPSHelping People 'Do Their Business' Is Big Business for Three African Entrepreneurs Human excrement is serious business. Three African social entrepreneurs, David Kuria, Joseph Adelegan and Trevor Mulaudzi, spoke at the National Press Club last week to share this revolutionary approach to solving the global sanitation crisis. Their business models, once considered distractions in the traditional policy or charity realm, are proving to be successful ventures. Their innovations are successfully shifting social behavior and improving public health, the environment and the economy. Trevor Mulaudzi, a South African entrepreneur, stressed that "no one wants to use a dirty toilet no matter how poor they are."
