POPSCBS News: Obama's Just Kinda Making Stuff Up About Jobs "Saved or Created" This report is not worth the paper it is printed on. Here is how the government defines how well the stimulus is working: “If a single dollar of Spendulus was spent on an employee's salary, whether that employee was a new employee or an old one, that gets counted as a job "saved or created." If he's a new employee, that job was created. If he's an existing employee, that job was saved.” How utterly ridiculous and useless is this rule? Resorting to lies to pat itself on the back. Don’t they realize how much worse this makes them look when they resort to this type of glad-handing?

who, according to British media, are not present in this war torn country. Not controlling the high ground is a certain recipe for disaster. In a modern age where logistics are so essential it is amazing that a semi literate almost primitive foe can have access to modern telephone technology but the Nato troops are ham-strung with their heavy and useless radio networks and equipment. All Nato troops now carry weapons that share 55.6 ammunition in a country where the average contact starts at massive distances. This means that you are dependent on support weapons which are totally alien to the mobility of troops trained for speed and action. The Italians, masters at Alpine terrains and warfare would never acquiesce to allowing their soldiers to be more than shooting ducks in a theatre they practice in their own back yard, or would they? Read this piece for yourself and then speak with you MP. Or better still continue accepting the lies fostered by this illegal and immoral governme

POPSObama Has Won The 100 Metres at The 2012 London Olympics
Thus, with President Wilson alone, the Nobel Peace Prize death toll is over 50 million and counting. Occasionally the peace prize has gone to actual peace negotiators but usually, per Teddy Roosevelt, when there was nothing left to negotiate. Carlos Saavedra Lamas got his in 1936 for mediating between Bolivia and Paraguay in the Chaco War (1932-35). Both nations were exhausted, 100,000 soldiers were dead, and the Chaco was--as it had been and remains--a vast, useless weed patch. Likewise, Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan (1976) and John Hume and David Trimble (1998)--the four of them were standing around when, after 500 years, the fool residents of my ancestral homeland ran out of ammo and beer. Of course, if you go around giving prizes left and right (mostly left) for more than a century, you're bound to give some to worthy people once in a while. With the Nobel committee this usually involves the Red Cross (1901, 1917, 1944, 1963). But the Red Cross doesn't bring peace . . .

POPSAt 10% Unemployment America Still Doesn't Have Enough Workers But of course, it's really not much a paradox at all. After years and years of a housing bubble, we have millions of Americans trained in some capacity relating to housing, and those skills are no longer needed. Concepts like this should shred anyone's notion of an output gap. Sure, American hands are underutilized, but if those hands don't have anything to do that's productive, can they really be considered unused "capacity." No, they can't. And this is the problem with big, macro-thinking. You can point to two GDP trendlines and say "Look, undercapacity..." but that totally ignores the ground level where real employees have to find jobs that they're suited for, and no amount of expansionary practice can change that problem.

POPSObama's Gay Outreach: All Talk, No Action Well, just as I predicted, last night when he the addressed the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, the all but de facto gay auxiliary of the Democratic National Committee, the President got his “standing ovation“.* The “cheering crowd” gave the Democrat a warm welcome even as he acknowledged “some policy changes he promised on the campaign trail are not coming as quickly as they expected.“ Promises, promises, but not a plan. That’s not enough for many gay activists, but it will win over the Washington-based leadership of HRC and other gay groups, ever eager to sing the praises of a politician with a (D) after his name who says the right things to their audiences. Of course, to those activists, with highfalutin language and that (D), it really doesn’t matter what he does. Once again, it was typical Obama, lofty words with little to show for them. Sickening. Wake up gay lefties....wake up.

POPSFinal word: Democrats are Worse Than Republicans It has been argued that the Democratic party is only about two degress left of the Republican party. Even is it is true, it is only true in a politically useless way. Their point of view on reproductive rights depends on if they are talking to religious bigots or progressives. Obama panders to the right-wing on health care for undocumented workers, who are, as usual, good enough to work for slave wages and pay into the system, but not good enough to receive benefits. On the issue of the war there could not be any clearer expression of the operational similarities between the Democrats and Republicans. This country is sorely in need of an independent, working class oriented, political movement that relentlessly attacks exploitation and oppression everywhere it rears its head. And the first step toward that is to lose all illusions in the Democratic Party, and stop providing any kind of left cover for them.

POPSAfghanistan: Krauthammer's Take If he tells you that his expertise in that area is useless and what you have to do is go to the other strategy, it's persuasive. newest provocation did not warrant the imposition of tougher sanctions. Do the tally. In return for selling out Poland and the Czech Republic by unilaterally abrogating a missile-defense security arrangement that Russia had demanded be abrogated, we get from Russia . . . what? An oblique hint, of possible support, for unspecified sanctions, grudgingly offered and of dubious authority " and, in any case, leading nowhere because the Chinese have remained resolute against any Security Council sanctions. Confusing ends and means, the Obama administration strives mightily for shows of allied unity, good feeling, and pious concern about Iran’s nuclear program " whereas the real objective is stopping that program. This feel-good posturing is worse than useless, because all the time spent achieving gestures is precious time granted Iran to finish its race to acquire the bomb. Don’t take it from me. Take it from Sarkozy, who could not conceal his astonishment at Obama’s naïveté.

POPSAnother useless exercise in smartough diplomacy There were, of course, two illicit nuclear projects stopped during that period, though the U.N. had nothing to do with it. One was Libya's clandestine nuclear kit, which al-Qaddafi--spooked by the fate of Saddam--agreed to hand over to the U.S. in late 2003. The other was Syria's North Korea-abetted secret reactor. That was destroyed in 2007, not by a U.N. resolution, but by an Israeli air strike.

POPSObama Administration Behind Ammo Shortage? The great ammo shortage mystery solved. It's not just high demand as this proves. Ammo supplies are being manipulated by pinching the normal supply of used brass from Dept of Defense sources. This is why it takes 7 weeks to get an order from ammo suppliers presently, and likely to get worse. This also ruins the business of ammo suppliers. Higher demand surely plays a role too as both gun and ammo sales have increased dramatically since the elections and financial crisis. Article tells how to notify your Congressmen that someone is by-passing Congress on gun control.

POPSTNH: "Some things I know about moderating conversations in virtual space" It’s an inescapable truth that for some people, the most interesting way to participate in online discourse is to kick holes in the conversation. Others—many of them young, but some, alas, old enough to know better—have a sense of entitlement that leads them to believe that their having an opinion means the rest of us are obliged to listen to it. Still others plainly get off on verbally abusing others, and seek out conversations that will offer them opportunities to do so. POPSNew facts and new troubles for Mexico
The estimated million plus Mexicans returning to Mexico plus the many more who choose to stay home, when earlier they would have gone to the other side, means more pressure on the nation's development. In this situation the country's GDP shrunk nine percent in the first quarter and a bit over ten percent in the second one. Whatever fiscal and economic reforms the government has planned are still being planned. The president insists on using his power to fight a useless losing drug war and effectively sabotaged the economy by locking the nation down for a month so that we wouldn't get the flu. The country cannot provide opportunities to vast swaths of the population. Now there is another swath to add to the others: returning illegal immigrants and others. Vast numbers of young unemployed kids whose skills are mainly in how to break the law and profit by it somehow are swelling the populace of Mexico's provincial backwaters (where most illegal immigrants come from) quite outside the a

The program is complete; it does not need a license number in order to be installed. 3. Additionally a wizard accessible from the toolbar walks you through the process of copying a disk or copying a partition. Assistance in using these functions is provided in the Help menu on the toolbar. 4. Before you undertake any partitioning process it is essential that you first create a recovery CD/DVD in case something goes wrong. The disk can be created from the Tools menu or from the Windows start menu listing for Partition Master. We also recommend you do a full system backup before partitioning as experience has shown that all partitioning processes carry a small element of risk.

POPSVictory at the Cost of Sanity in Obama’s Forever War The tired old mentality of the U.S. military, actually any military, is “There is no alternative to victory.” What is considered victory, the complete subjugation of the enemy? What would be considered a victory for the U.S. in Afghanistan? If we think we are going to eradicate terrorism and hatred towards the U.S. then we are sadly mistaken. Victory comes in many different forms. At this point in time I would consider it a victory to get our troops home without any further loss of life, our troops as well as civilians at the hands of America’s war machine, accidental though they may be. It really doesn’t matter who rules Afghanistan or Iraq after we leave, assuming there are plans to ever leave. We need to get back home and divert some of the obscene amount of money being thrown at the pentagon and put it towards domestic purposes, like schools and healthcare. We can defend our borders just fine from within our borders.

POPSFlu Vaccine May Be More Dangerous Than Virus Schafer said the real question is one of relative risks and benefits. The H1N1 flu, he said, has proved to date to be no more lethal than seasonal flu. Vaccines to treat seasonal flu have not been effective, and there is no evidence to suggest a vaccine for H1N1 will be more effective, he added. Schafer said an independent review of the effectiveness of flu vaccines concluded that healthy adults shouldn't be taking them. He said he wonders why anyone would want to take a vaccine for H1N1 that's being rushed into clinical use. "The so-called cure can be worse than the disease, or can be useless. There may be other alternatives, safer, more effective things we can do.

POPSMost Americans expect higher taxes More than one-third of all surveyed say they expect their taxes to be "a lot higher'' despite the president's assertion that 95 percent of all Americans are getting tax relief under his economic stimulus program and health-care plans for the future. "Most Americans remain skeptical that the administration can pay for healthcare reform and its other programs without raising their taxes,'' Gallup's Jeffrey Jones reports today. Higher taxes are on the way. You can not pay for all the projects Obama is trying to implement without incurring massive debt. Simply printing more ‘useless’ money is not the answer, that will only result in the devaluation of the dollar until it becomes worthless. However do not hold your breath expecting old honest Abe (Obama) to tell you the truth - why would he start now.
