POPSFark Screws Members | Goes the Way of Digg with "rel=nofollow" In addition, instead of using some kind of javascript to, I guess track outbound links they switched it to a perl based tracker that redirects people to the actual site onclick. They also query string encoded the stupid thing to I guess prevent people from directly linked content. Wasn't that hard, but annoying. Go to hell fark.

POPSDirty Harry Reid’s "ABORTION FIX" IS NOT FIXED ~ “Manager’s Amendment" that cover elective abortions. The new language does include a “state opt-out” provision if a state passes a law to prohibit insurance coverage of abortion, but it’s a sham because it does nothing to prevent one state’s tax dollars from paying for elective abortions in other states. A majority of Americans believe that health care plans should not be mandated to provide elective abortion coverage, and a majority of Americans do not believe government health care plans should include abortion coverage. Currently, federal appropriations bills include language known as the Hyde Amendment that prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for elective abortions under the Medicare and Medicaid programs, while another provision, known as the Smith Amendment, prohibits federal funding of abortion under the federal employees’ health benefits plan .

POPSInteresting shift in teen & tween attitudes & beliefs More: The survey also probed changing attitudes about drugs, sex, drinking, abortion and willingness to fight in a war - you can see all of the findings in the link above. For those of us who are working with kids, whether in our careers, volunteer work or as parents, the other thing that comes through the study is that teens want to do the right thing, but, they still struggle with knowing what that is, or how to make it happen. The study emphasizes the important role that parents, friends and an extended constellation of adults play in helping teens discover and act on their values.

POPSGlobal Warming Exposed as 'Globaloney' via Big Hack Attack .... (presented out of order because of frequent updates at that post): Hackers have broken into the data base of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit - one of the world’s leading alarmist centres - and put the files they stole on the Internet, on the grounds that the science is too important to be kept under wraps. he files suggest, on a very preliminary glance, some other very dubious practices, too, and a lot of collusion - sometimes called “peer review”. Or even conspiracy. POPSCupkates Truck battles City of Berkeley over parking location issues more: On Monday, I met with two departments: one who assured me my permit is still valid and I am authorized to vend in legal parking spaces, and another who told me that it is against city law to do so. The deputy city manager assured me that she would resolve the discrepancy and get back to me on Tuesday. Today, I went to meet with her and was informed that she was too busy to see me; Berkeley Police then escorted me out of the building. I stressed to the city that I quit my job and invested my life savings building a business that the City of Berkeley permitted and endorsed just three months ago. Every day I remain closed, waiting for the city to sort out internal miscommunications, I lose a tremendous amount of income. The city’s response to my crisis has been to continually ignore me and now to have an armed officer escort me out of city hall.
