POPSHated Roosevelt, Hate Obama: Paleoconservative Persuasions
Nock saw the state as “them,” not “us,” and “them” really came to mean Roosevelt. You must know that Roosevelt was hated by many during the Great Depression. Not disliked, hated. The laissez faire crowd saw every move toward government relief of intolerable conditions as government self-aggrandizement—Nock’s term, not mine. Despite the fact that people were desperate in the streets, extreme-sport capitalists saw only usurpation of the powers of the church (as the precursor to the modern social relief agency) and the individual—that old fall-back, the rugged individual—Nock’s term, not mine. Professor Nock pulls no punches. With a Beckian flourish he proclaims, “This regime was established by a coup d'État of a new and unusual kind, practicable only in a rich country.” Yup. A coup d’etat. You almost want to ask for Mr. Roosevelt’s birth certificate. Nock’s antipathy to Roosevelt knew few boundaries. Perversely, Nock saw in the New Deal, “the erection of po

POPSFamed pastor says there's a cure for Parkinson's "This is giving people false hope," said Bob Kendall, 48, who was diagnosed seven years ago. "To me this is really sad. If there was a breakthrough and a cure, it wouldn't be a televangelist announcing it, believe me. There are a lot of people up in arms."

POPSMost Creative Breast Cancer Awareness Ads When that word is mentioned, cancer, it’s like a tremble through the heart. I can't stress how important it is for early diagnosis. If there is anything going on in your body - ANYTHING - that is unusual - go get checked. "If only women paid as much attention to their breast as men do..." Sounds funny, but it's true.

POPSChina's black pop idol exposes her nation's racism "Ugh. Yellow people and black people mixed together is very gross," was one representative post. And Lou's critics are incensed not only by her colour but also because she is apparently the product of an extramarital relationship. Another blogger wrote: "Numb! This bitch still has the audacity to appear on television! I don't know what to say! One cannot be shameless to this kind of level!" Lou admitted to Neteast News that the level of hostility had come as a shock. "The whole thing was a big bomb to my family and me and it caused great harm," she said. "I wish netizens could tolerate my particular parentage and let it go as soon as possible."

POPSChannels associated with impact craters discovered on Mars If a significant amount of water was released or mobilized by the formation of the Hale Crater impact, larger impacts that formed during the early days of the Solar System may have been able to bring even more water to the surface of Mars. If this is true, a long-term, stable, warm and wet climate may not be required to explain the presence of such channels in the ancient Martian landscapes.

POPS"The Artist in Chief" and "Navigating the Art of Change” To borrow a line from the Artist in Chief, I’m “fired up and ready to go.” Am I starting to sound like an advocate? Well, that seems to be a touchy subject. Some quote-unquote “journalists” have recently accused this agency of losing its independence and becoming a propaganda machine. While I want to state in no uncertain terms that the NEA is not a political agency and that when art becomes propaganda I lose all interest in it, I also want everyone to know that the days of a defensive NEA are over. We have a plan and we are going to, quote, “advocate” for it. Remember, please, that the NEA is an unusual agency within the federal government. We have always been considered the champions of the arts and artists in the public sector. In a sense, we do “advocate” for them in a way that the IRS doesn’t advocate for taxes or the FCC for bandwidth. We promote the arts. POPSHelp your child learn with mistakes No one wants their child to fail. You love seeing a perfect spelling or math grade at the end of the day. POPSKevin Richardson- The Lion Whisperer Kevin Richardson, zoologist and animal behavioralist, raises and trains some of the most dangerous animals known to man. To do this he does not use the common methods of breaking the animal's spirit with sticks and chains, instead he uses love, understanding and trust. With this unusual method of training he has developed some exceptionally personal bonds with his students. He sleeps with lions, cuddles newborn hyenas, swims with lionesses. Kevin can confidently look into their eyes, crouch to the their level and even lie down with them - all taboos in the normal world of wild animal handling - yet he has never been mauled or attacked. Some call him crazy; others shake their heads at his unique method of interacting with the animals. And Kevin's secret - get to know the particular personality of each animal, what makes them angry, happy, upset, irritated - just like a mother with a child..

POPSSneeze kills man 'I can only image the sneeze combined with the Warfarin could have been the cause of death.' Dr John Bridger, who performed the post mortem, said no 'underlying trauma' or skull fractures was found. Coroner for Torbay and South Devon Ian Arrow said John died of subdural haematoma - trauma to the brain - and coronary artery disease. Retuning a verdict of accidental death, he said: 'The presence of Warfarin means the body is more susceptible to bleeding which means it could have been a minor trauma which lead to his death. 'He would have suffered a minor trauma and on the balance of probably it was likely it was the sneeze which lead to his death.'

POPSNurturing Coincidence People who are sensitive to events and stimuli around them will be sensitive to coincidences sent from the universe. The most powerful and unusual stimuli will naturally draw your attention. Those are the things in your environment you need to look at most closely. And the more unlikely the coincidence, the more potent the clue. More coincidences provide more clues to guide our behavior. We start to enjoy more opportunities. We have more “good luck.” These clues point out the direction to take our lives.
