It is important for the members of the gay community to NOT fall into a state of complacency, because homophobia is still alive and well.

Or in other words, blaspheme that which is good and right and uphold as honorable that which is unholy and perverse. Obviously there is an "AGENDA" to promote homosexual causes across our land via the US congress while at the same time there is another "AGENDA" to oppose any movement of God across this nation. POPSVirginia Churches Fight Over Church Property Keep your eye on this one. What's at stake here is the ability of schismatic congregations (or dioceses) to walk away from their denominations and keep their property, in contravention of canon law. That's no small concern, particularly in high-rent districts like Northern Virginia. If the ruling goes against the denominations, we could see Akinola and his creepy buddies breaking up churches all over the place. I think the law here should be clear: civil courts don't get involved in ecclesial disputes. POPSMaking History: Man Prepares To Give Birth This is completely fascinating to me. Of course, it reminds me of the old Billy Crystal movie, "The Rabbit Test", where Crystal plays a man who becomes pregnant. I haven't seen that movie in years. But, ever since I saw it, I have watched to see if science would ever advance the real idea of men giving birth. Technically, the man in this clip is transgendered, meaning he was born with female reproductive organs, but looks like a man and lives as a male. The discrimination and the bigotry that he has faced through the healthcare system and from his own family is sad and despicable. I will continue to follow this story with some fascination. Mostly because it smacks in the face of everything we have come to know and expect when it comes to the idea of creating a family.

POPSGay 14-year-old shot to death by classmate Interesting that this happens while there's also a debate going on over whether it should be OK to include positive portrayals of same-sex couples in educational materials aimed at this age group. I suppose there are those who'd say that a 14-year-old boy who wears mascara to school deserves whatever he gets, but personally I have some trouble with that position. I suppose there are also those who'd say that there's nothing wrong with allowing 14-year-olds access to firearms, either.

POPSCanada Celebrates 40 years of Gay Rights Activism I am so proud to live in a country that has come so far in such a relatively brief period of time. Only 40 years ago consenting gay adults could be thrown in prison for engaging in sexual relations. Now we actually have same-sex marriage as the law of the land. Will our neighbours to the north ever lean the lesson that gays are people too?

If such words are not familiar, it is because they - like all attempts to coin a gender-neutral personal pronoun - have failed miserably.

POPSTransexuals Are Biggest Threat To Children? Hard to believe that prejudice against transsexuals is so deep that the police will harass someone simply for talking to children. You would think the police would know that the vast majority of child molestation cases are about heterosexual men and family members who molest kids, not members of the GLBT community.
