Officials: U.S. Army Told of Hasan's Contacts with al Qaeda
merrie
by merrie  11-9-2009    3
The Associated Press reported Sunday that Major Hasan attended the Falls Church mosque when Awlaki was there. The Telegraph of London reported that Awlaki had made contact with two of the 9/11 hijackers when he was in San Diego. He denied any knowledge of the hijacking plot and was never charged with any crime. After an intensive investigation by the FBI , Awlaki moved to Yemen. People who knew or worked with Hasan say he seemed to have gradually become more radical in his disapproval of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. On Sunday, Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) called for an investigation into whether the Army missed signs as to whether Hasan was an Islamic extremist. "If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have a zero tolerance," Lieberman told Fox News Sunday. A fellow Army doctor who studied with Hasan, Val Finell, told ABC News, "He would frequently say he was a Muslim first and an American . .

Why was this man *ever* on the ticket with Al Gore??? FTA: "why it is that eight years after 9/11, Hasan’s behavior did not set off alarm bells?" Complacency and PC. As I've said in other clips, freedom of Religion is a foundational stone of our Constitution. Freedom of Speech is also. However, if it quacks like a duck...it might be a duck and it's those who are in authority who are responsible to discern.

Liz Cheney emerges, the left's feeding frenzy (and "tolerance"), verging on abject panic
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  11-2-2009    1
So Liz Cheney, just like Palin, unnerves and upsets the Left, not simply because she might run for something and win, and not only because she is one of the most effective conservative spokeswomen on national security. She threatens their claim to the moral high ground and their assertion that women voters belong to the Left. That’s reason enough to send them into fits of rage. And you can bet they’re only getting warmed up. So predictable. Saw this coming a mile away. It's almost boring watching the left piss their pants again over a woman who happens to be a conservative. Maybe we can expect David Letterman to crack a rape joke about Liz and her family, on behalf of the "tolerant" left. Sad. Army chiefs accuse extremists of exploiting Britain's servicemen
foxyarse
by foxyarse  10-20-2009
The values of these extremists - many of whom are essentially racist - are fundamentally at odds with the values of the modern British military, such as tolerance and fairness.' The new row came as an apparent list of the party's members and their personal details were posted on the internet, in the third leak of its membership in recent years. The names include former senior members of the military, doctors and professors, according to the spreadsheet posted on the the WikiLeaks website. Everything from their street address, post code, telephone number and mobile phone number is included. It comes amid huge anger over BNP leader Nick Griffin's appearance on Question Time on Thursday with the corporation refusing to pull him from the line-up. The BNP has regularly used pictures of soldiers as part of its campaign, alongside quintessentially British images such as Winston Churchill's V for victory sign.

If God Had Wanted Me To Be Accepting Of Gays
Socratoad
by Socratoad  10-15-2009    13
Here, let's start with the basic facts: I hate and fear gay people. The way they feel is different from how I feel, and that causes me a lot of confusion and anger. Everyone knows God is all-powerful. He could easily have given me the capacity to investigate what's behind those feelings rather than tell strangers in the park they're going to hell for holding hands. But God clearly has another path for me. And who am I to question His divine will? Compassion, tolerance, understanding, basic decency, the ability to put myself in another person's position: God could have endowed me with any of those traits and yet—here is the crucial part—He didn't. Why? Because the Creator of the Universe wants me to demonize homosexuals in an effort to strip them of their fundamental human rights.

Fact: Nearly All of Hitlers Beliefs Placed Him On the Far Right[
zizzy
by zizzy  9-29-2009    9
Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named "National Socialist." But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production. In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state. True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic. Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right. He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist.

zizzy

One Hundred Years of Solitude is a tremendous work, but News of a Kidnapping is a compelling.story of journalists, kidnapped by Pablo Escobar, leader of the Medellín Cartel. The fate of Diana Turbay made me weep. My goal is to read everything that Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote . The last Marquez novel that I read was Memories of My Melancholy Whores. : banned in Iran. Re: 100 Yrs. Parkes said: " taught the west how to read a reality alternative to their own, which in turn opened the gates for other non-western writers like myself and other writers from Africa and Asia. "Apart from the fact that it's an amazing book, it taught western readers tolerance for other perspectives." more at clip source

Take a look at this liberal, bleeding heart agenda for recovery for a man who soaked an elderly woman’s body in gas and burned her in a flower garden to throw off dogs. BTW, that does not seem to be crazy, isn’t that a conscious thought to destroy evidence? Good grief, check out the mission statement and recovery principles. Why didn’t they just pay for his way on a Carnival cruise? Recovery Principles: Hope Self management and autonomy Dignity and self respect Tolerance and forgiveness Adaptability and capacity to change Personal responsibility and productivity Peer support and community life Acceptance and self awareness What the hell was a criminally insane killer taking a field trip to the County fair? What the hell were authorities at Eastern State Hospital where Phillip Arnold Paul was a patient thinking? Was to zoo closed? Could you not get tickets for the matinee movie? WTF!!! From Victimhood to Aggression: Jewish Identity in the light of Caryl Churchill’s Seven Jewish Childr
Seosamh Dalzell
by Seosamh Dalzell  5-4-2009    4
'...it seems as if the entire spectrum of Jewish political identity is a tribally orientated exclusivist practice. ... as if the entire spectrum of Jewish identity politics lacks the true awareness and acceptance of universal attitudes as an acknowledgment of being amongst others. This behavioural pattern can be easily grasped in historical retrospective. Bearing in mind that the discourse of identity arose as a reaction to 20th century disastrous nationalist reality, identity was an outlet that allowed a sense of belonging in a newly formed tolerant civic reality. However, the course of Jewish identity politics was very different. Within the concept of Jewish identity, Jewish suffering and victimhood are set as unique Jewish symptoms. For a Jew to celebrate his identity means to celebrate Jewish pain, to visit and to revisit the agony. To be a Jew is to religiously believe in the Holocaust,... is to be chased,...is to be able to find an anti-Semite under every stone ...'
