POPSPhysicists investigate how time moves forward This provides an orientation, or arrow of time, and it is generally believed that all other time asymmetries, such as our sense that future and past are different, are a direct consequence of this thermodynamic arrow.” In their study, Feng and Crooks have developed a method to accurately measure “time asymmetry” (which refers to our intuitive concept of time, that the past differs from the future, in contrast with time symmetry, where there is no distinction between past and future). They began by investigating the increase in energy dissipation, or entropy, in various arrangements. While time blatantly moves forward in the macroscopic world, the direction of time becomes confusing on the scale of a single molecule

POPSPowerMall Debate So, my dear friend, forgive me for not heeding your word of warning. Because you see, my family comes first, what kind of person would I be, if I gave my "time" to strangers, when "my family" are the one's needing my "time". I am not selfish and do not want anyone to suffer, I do what I can, for whom I can, whenever the need arises. I will continue to show my concern, and be of help. I will also continue to find the right people who believe that "together, "we can" make a difference in the world we live in". Even if our world only reaches as far as our own back yard...it makes no difference to "Him"..., just as long as we do something.....

POPSScanning the brain in real time Learning to control your own mind. There have been three ways to affect the brain.(for argument's sake) the psychiatrist's couch, the knife, and with medication. Now with the improved MRI technology we can look inside our brain in real time, and affect the way we think. The video wont clip but video lasts for 3min56sec and can be seen following the top link, or is 13.6MB download from the link in the clip (The 'desktop' link works, itunes seems only to be a download from the site)

POPS Kosovo lives: Between two worlds An interesting story of an English teacher....it is very difficult for outsiders to fathom what (caste/religion notwithstanding) people in the region have been through...

POPSSurfing faster than the speed of light I wonder how easy it will be to navigate with these drives. Will the passage of a vehicle through space-time in a bubble leave an imprint? they could start some rifts around bottlenecks like docking stations.

POPS"Muslim Day at Six Flags" A slightly puffy human-interest story on a recurring event at various Six Flags locations around the country, in which an amphitheater is used as a masjid and halal caterers are brought in.
