POPSUSA Prepares to Attack Russia in 3 or 4 Years? “I would also like to pay your attention to the fact that the US Military Academy at West Point has recently launched extensive courses to study the Russian culture and language. They started teaching the Iraqi culture and the Arab language three years before invading Iraq.

POPSRepublican Re-Education Camps? MN Representative Michelle Bachmann (Schlockmann?) went ballistic and called AmeriCorps a system of "re-education" camps". It turns out that Rush and his GOP butt-kissers are the ones actually talking about "re-education". Those will be the placces where the staff uniforms include flip-flops. You have to give Cantor credit for having a spine more flexible than a cat's. Back in 1960, people were worried that a Democratic win would mean a White House controlled by the Vatican. It would seem that the Republicans are being controlled from a radio studio in Palm Beach Florida.

POPSDorothea Lange - Artist With Vision Beyond The Lens Of Any Camera (Errata Clog)
In response to my clog post entitled, "Strong Support For Health Care Reform With Public Option," I have participated in some discussions about the stunning work of Dorothea Lange. As many of you may know, Dorothea Lange is the photographer/artist who took the famous picture, "Migrant Mother," which is featured in my clog. I entitled this picture incorrectly as "The Dust Bowl," so please accept my apologies for this error. If any of my clogs ever contain incorrect information of this nature, I ask that my readers let me know right away. Aside from correcting errata, I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight Dorothea Lange's work further in the clips below. I clipped these bits from the My Hero website. Dorothea Lange is an interesting individual who, in my opinion, captured the class struggles in this country better than any artist of her day with a medium that was not then fully realized. Dorothea Lange died on October 16, 1965. If you are not familiar with the life

POPSNEA recomends Alinsky as teaching aid I love how it isn't 'personal terrorism' if you just deem someone to be a symbol and not a person. Maybe that is why the left is so sympathetic to the Fort Hood shooter. They don't consider those dead as people, but only as symbols of something they can't stand.

POPSObama, Maurice Strong, Al Gore Key Players Cashing In.... continued
the man who was to become President of the United States of America. If we follow the time line on where Obama was during the funding of the Chicago Climate Exchange, he was still a professor at the University of Chicago Law School teaching constitutional law, with his law license becoming inactive a year later in 2002. It may be interesting to note that the Chicago Climate Exchange in spite of its hype, is a veritable rat’s nest of cronyism. The largest shareholder in the Exchange is Goldman Sachs. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley is its honorary chairman, The Joyce Foundation, which funded the Exchange also funded money for John Ayers’ Chicago School Initiatives. John is the brother of William Ayers. What a flap when it was discovered that the senator from Chicago had nursed on Saul Alinsky’s milk, had his political career launched at a coffee party held by domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, and sat for 20 years, uncomplaining in front of the

POPSManaging Distraction more: "Surfing or multitasking may have even more of a place in 21st-century society as strategies of learning," says Jackson. "But going forward, we need to do much more than hopscotch across the web, split-focused and pulled this way and that by choice distractions. We cannot mistake fragmented, diffused attention as avenues of higher thought-or deeper relationships." "Instead, we need to do better at cultivating deep focus, keen awareness and meta-cognitive "executive" attention-the package of skills that is crucial to moving forward in a complex, high-tech age," says Jackson. "If we can 'green' the earth, we can clean up our noisy, interrupt-driven environment, and set the stage for a renaissance of attention for all."

POPSBabies are "disposable"...a punishment ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? Barack Hussein Obama says he doesn't want his daughters "punished with a baby" as a result of a "mistake" and uses this rationale to promote teaching his daughters and the young girls in elementary schools around the USA about condoms, birth control, and the whole Planned Barrenhood child sex advocate curriculum. That's what Planned Barrenhood and Obama and the public school system truly are - CHILD SEX ADVOCATES

POPSFilms today, books tomorrow? by Mariam Mokhtar "But the scariest thing is how the Puteri Umno motion was passed without debate. An important call such as this should have warranted a little more scrutiny. If the Government were to accede to their request, then it is all Malaysians, who will suffer. Not just Muslims. Movies like the Harry Potter films will not be screened. Lord of the Rings, and even The Wizard of Oz will have to be banned. And what about science fiction films? Alien, Predator and others, may be full of horror, or lack unexplained traditional elements, and thus, will not fit in any religious teaching." In short - ban fucking everything. Would that make 'em happy?

POPSWall Street celebrates bonuses, schools beg for supplies We see stories like “Recession Pinches Back-to-School Budgets” http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/10/03/eveningnews/main5361456.shtml and “School budgets dip, class sizes grow” http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32156424/ns/us_news-education/ along with reports of Wall Street reaping fat bonuses after being bailed out with taxpayer dollars. Sure, the bailouts were necessary to keep the economy afloat. Or so we are led to believe. And while the wisdom of a Wall Street bailout is being debated there is no debate about whether or not our schools need more money. Should public schools needs be ranked second to Wall Street because schools don’t turn a profit? Actually, if your head is on straight, you can clearly see how schools do turn a profit, but you need to value education above making money in order to see it. If you do, here’s an online charity that connects you to classrooms in need: http://www.donorschoose.org/

POPSChris Matthews to Oath Keepers Founder, "Which scenario do you live in?" and the violation of rights that has happened in other countries in recent history.” Under the thin veil of questioning, Matthews used an array of crayons to color Rhodes as paranoid and delusional. The Left will never understand the military life, or their sense of duty and loyalty to America. To them, police will always be “pigs” and see our military as “baby-killers” and Mao as a great political leader. And yet, as long as we have honorable men and women willing to protect our Constitution and keep their oaths– The Wall will stay in ruins and our experiment in liberty will continue. Which scenario do you live in? Guardians of the Republic Honor Your Oath http://oath-keepers.blogspot.com/2009/03/oath-keepers-declaration-of-orders-we.html

POPSHealth Bills In Congress Won't Fix Doctor Shortage
Add More Residents? 'Dead on Arrival' Almost everyone agrees on how to build up the supply of primary care physicians: create more residency positions at teaching hospitals for family doctors and internists to complete their training and significantly increase how much primary care doctors get paid by Medicare and other insurers. But there’s resistance to these steps because of their costs. A proposal backed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and the teaching hospital lobby to add 15,000 Medicare-funded medical residency positions -- a 15 percent increase that would favor more primary care training -- was considered dead on arrival because of its $10 billion price tag over a decade. Proponents said it was a small price to pay, in legislation that could run as high as $1 trillion, to ensure that patients have access to doctors. Instead, the House and Senate overhaul bills would redistribute about 1,000 unfilled residency positions . . .

POPSAre kids under 13 watching YouTube? You bet they are, and by a wide margin over the leading childrens content providers. So should YouTube do more to protect kids? Perhaps. But as this article suggests, there are many positives as well. For me, its come down to diligently monitoring my kids web time and placing the computer in our kitchen; its provided both web safety teaching moments as well as some great family bonding.
