POPSHealth bills could expand IRS role What a mess this should be. They are spending billions on this. Wouldn't it be more sensible to put the money directly into universal health care rather than spending it to "police" citizens? But I guess that would not be beneficial to the insurance providers

Happy Idiots http://bit.ly/4EBV8s -- I received the post below from a real zombie, an actual conservative, with thought patterns similar to Michelle Bauchman, Glenn Beck, Palin, the tea-baggers, all the Republicans (notice how they do everything in unison -- complete authoritarian mind-control. Wow. Scary. Who knows, maybe they are the Borg! (As Palin, would say, *wink*)) Here's my response to his comments below. And remember to be kind to this drug addict. His deficits would last years after the recession is over and in spite of the massive tax increases that promises to accompany them. The Democrats correctly criticized Bush's deficits. Feldstein notes that Obama's deficits, because of its expensive health care agenda will reach $9.3 trillion -- more than twice the amount of the previous administration. In an earlier article in the Washington Post, Feldstein noted that "For the 85 percent of Americans who already have health insurance, the Obama health plan is bad news. It means higher taxes, less health care and no protection if they lose their current insurance because of unemployment or early retirement." Feldstein also notes that the price of the program is enormous and would cost more than $1 trillion and would raise the current maximum tax rate from 35 to 45 percent.

POPSObama's health insurance is deadly fiasco I don't usually comment on US health care, BUT to be *forced* to pay private profit-making company for inadequate health coverage, with premiums increasing as I age, would make me very riled. And the policy won't do any good for the image of Obama, the Federales, or the health insurance industry. Where is Ralph Nader and a third Party when you need them? Couldn't he get together with Ron Paul -- the ultimate coalition. Howard Dean seems to understand what's going on, but he's an MD. If I were an American, then I would want to try something different. Rasmussen reports that 66 percent of Americans favor smaller government with fewer services and only 22 percent favor more services and higher taxes. The second is that Barack Obama's persuasive powers are surprisingly weak. His advocacy seems to have moved Americans in the opposite of the intended direction. Obama first came to national attention in 2004 by promising to heal partisan, ideological and racial divisions. Like the other two Democratic presidents elected in the last 40 years .....

This is an electorate that remained largely asleep and disinterested when lawmakers, taking their cue from the 70-30 vote against a ballot measure to phase out the income tax, raised taxes. I would have thought the GOP would be more interested in kicking off the 2010 election season with a good showing, if not a win, in bluest Mass. POPSThe Adam Lambert Problem When it comes to Adam Lambert, gay organizations should either ignore the guy or criticize him for helping foster the image that gay people are obsessed with sex and flaunting that in the public square. While many gay and lesbian singers, actors and talk show hostesses live their lives openly, they leave the sexual aspect of their lives where it belongs: behind closed doors. After Lambert’s recent stunt at the American Music Awards, he has certainly extended his fifteen minutes. I don't act like that and none of my gay friends act like that. Lambert is an idiot. He does nothing to improve the image of gay people. Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen De Generes he surely is not.
