POPSAesopus: De Herinaceis Viperas Hospites Eiicientibus Fabula innuit quod eos in consortia non admittendos quos non eiicere possumus. The hedgehogs, anticipating that winter was about to arrive, sweetly asked the vipers to make room for them in their own hole, against the force of the cold. When the vipers did this, the hedgehogs rolled here and there, and they poked the vipers with the sharp points of their spines and tortured the vipers with violent pain. When the vipers saw the trouble that they were in, with sweet words they asked the hedgehogs to leave, since the place was too cramped for so many inhabitants. The hedgehogs said to the vipers, "Let those depart who cannot stand to remain here." Consequently, the vipers, realizing that there was no room there, withdrew from the quarters. ↗ Commentary

POPSThe Seminal Point for the Decline in Media Credibility
"after nearly 60,000 U.S. deaths and countless Vietnamese casualties, we bugged out. There’s no way to put an honorable face on that. After the U.S. evacuated, here’s a description of what happened in Ba Chuc. “On April 30, 1977, Pol Pot’s troops launched a surprise attack on 13 villages in eight Vietnamese border provinces. Ba Chuc was the hardest hit. The massacre was at its fiercest during the 12 days of occupation, April 18-30, 1978, during which the intruders killed 3,157 villagers. The survivors fled and took refuge in the pagodas of Tam Buu and Phi Lai or in caves on Mount Tuong, but they were soon discovered. The raiders shot them, slit their throats or beat them to death with sticks. Babies were flung into the air and pierced with bayonets. Women were raped and left to die with stakes planted in their genitals.” Cronkite didn’t cover it. Cronkite was wrong. ...his words became a watershed marking the place where the gradual erosion of the MSM’s credibility.

POPSLogjam of War Contractor Fraud Suits
The exact number of qui tam cases stuck in legal limbo is unknown because the cases are kept under strict seal. But sources who have been following the issue closely estimate that there are between 50 and 70 Iraq contracting fraud cases under seal. Under normal circumstances, when the DOJ receives a qui tam case, it conducts an investigation into the whistleblower's claims. If there is sufficient evidence of significant fraud, the DOJ joins with the whistleblower to sue the company in question and recover the government's money. The whistleblower can receive up to 30 percent of money recovered as a reward for their service to the taxpayer. Not a single qui tam case against war contractors has been joined by the Bush administration DOJ despite the possibility of recovering billions of dollars for the US taxpayer and reining in war profiteers, who continue to cheat and defraud the government and the US troops mired in battle. POPSAesop: DE RANA ET VULPE The frog said goodbye to her swamp and adopted a new mode of life, and quite puffed up with pride she went into the forest. Girded round with the beasts' wreaths of honor, she professed publicly the art of medicine, declaring which herbs which are useful in curing the body's diseases, shouting that she was more worthy of honor than Galen or Hippocrates. The gullible animal kingdom easily put their trust in the frog - except only for the fox, who laughed at the boasting frog. "You witless and giddy creature! Why do you babble such foolish things? Why do you assume this worthy art which you know absolutely nothing about? Sickly green and pale - look at your own lips: why don't you just go home and cure yourself, doctor! And then you might come back to us, when we may perhaps expect something more useful from you." The frog said nothing in response, but groaned with quiet sighs, and all the woods resounded with the laughter of the beasts.
