POPS14-Defining Characteristics of Fascism 3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. 4. POPSObama declares war on Christmas and Hanukkah! Rep. Henry Brown, R-S.C., wasn't about to take this lying down. "I believe that sending a Christmas card without referencing a holiday and its purpose limits the Christmas celebration in favor of a more 'politically correct' holiday," Brown told Fox News Radio. So he's fighting back -- he's introduced a resolution "expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the symbols and traditions of Christmas should be protected for use by those who celebrate Christmas." Under the resolution -- which, even if passed, would be without any legal force whatsoever -- the House would also "strongly disapprov of attempts to ban references to Christmas."

POPSChina vs. Disney: The Battle for Mulan China is moving to take back one of its own — even if it is legend. Mulan is the Middle Kingdom's gender-bending heroine, its Joan of Arc. The character from folktale is a daughter who disguises herself as a male soldier to take her father's place in the conscription army. The problem for the Chinese is that, since 1998, the definitive version of the story has been Disney's.

POPSKorean Translators Teach Korean Handicrafts Kim Yung, a Korean translator by trade, is currently teaching a course on Korean handicrafts at the University of Illinois. He says that Korean metalwork started around 1000 B.C.- 700 B.C. Metalwork was generally used to make spears, knives and other tools that tended to be used for religious rituals. Some of the religious symbols included geometric designs, bronze mirrors, vessels made of bronze with themes of agriculture, assorted bells of various sizes and shapes. Many of the vessels have carvings on the backs, like birds in trees or farm scenes. Most of these metal objects were found in ancient tombs and caves in the 4th and 5th centuries AD throughout modern day Korea. The techniques used to decorate the metal were piercing, inlay and buffing.

POPSNEA recomends Alinsky as teaching aid I love how it isn't 'personal terrorism' if you just deem someone to be a symbol and not a person. Maybe that is why the left is so sympathetic to the Fort Hood shooter. They don't consider those dead as people, but only as symbols of something they can't stand.
