POPSPersonality Types in Cyberspace With a strong predilection towards disagreeing with people, their messages in email and discussion board groups often begin and are peppered throughout with words like "but" and "however." A more subtle oppositional message may start off with "well" or the namesake "yes but." Psychodynamic theory proposes that these people struggle with underlying feelings of hostility that can only be expressed passively or indirectly, via the act of disagreeing. They also may need to oppose others as a way to firm up their somewhat fragile identity or to boost self-esteem by proving themselves right and others mistaken. People with oppositional tendencies may be drawn to the intellectually contentious atmosphere of online discussion groups. That atmosphere, combined with the difficulties in establishing one's presence in a somewhat chaotic environment that lacks the identity-grounding cues of face-to-face contact, may also amplify oppositional tendencies.

Don’t prune back dead vegetation like vines and stalks – these provide both valuable winter cover and nesting material for birds in the spring. Balconies have a special opportunity to attract nesting birds as they provide great shelter. Add habitat in your backyard in the form of a brush pile, which may attract foraging birds and mammals, and even over-wintering reptiles, amphibians and insects.

POPSOhio School Suspends 8th Grader Over Haircut Ohio is one of those weird places that makes me glad I grew up in Illinois. Apparently, in Ohio, school students are distracted by the simplest of things - like this 8th grade boy's haircut, showing off his support of the Cincinnati Bengals. So distracting, in fact, the boy's school district suspended him. Google this story and you will find that Ohio has a noticeable history of suspending kids as young as Kindergärtner-age for "unacceptable" hairstyles. What does Ohio have against unusual hair styles? Perhaps, they simply aren't aware of just how bad hair styles can become, so I decided this morning to give the state a little education in the 50 worst hairstyles of all time. After reviewing these 50 "do's," I think it's clear that Ohio should count its lucky stars that this young boy is just a sports fan.
