POPSGreen technology creating 'green collar' jobs I stand strongly behind my belief that if this country committed ourselves to becoming energy independent with the same determination that we committed to putting a man on the moon, that we could do it and we could create millions of new jobs in the process. It would be an enormous driver of economic growth and strengthen our leverage in the Middle East because we would no longer be reliant on their oil.

Probably the most interesting portion is his insider's look into the development atmosphere at Google, where a controlled type of agile programming runs rampant, with huge results. Oh and did he menion the perks? And there are still other incentives; the list goes on and ON and ON ; the perks are over the top, and the rewards are over the top, and everything there is so comically over the top that you have no choice, as an outsider, but to assume that everything the recruiter is telling you is a baldfaced lie, because there's no possible way a company could be that generous to all of its employees, all of them, I mean even the contractors who clean the micro-kitchens, they get these totally awesome "Google Micro-Kitchen Staff" shirts and fleeces.

It is a win-win game for governments, car owners, for the environment, for the economy and for Aggasi’s company. True many details must be worked out properly for such a deep change to take place. POPSScribd - online publishing One of early problems Scribd encountered was that there was no good format for displaying its documents, as formats like PDF, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint were designed before the Internet existed. In response, Scribd created iPaper, the first document format built for the web. Like YouTube's player did for video formats, iPaper standardizes all document formats into one viewer that can be seamlessly integrated into webpages. Recognizing the value of this technology, Scribd released the Scribd Platform, which allows any website to use iPaper to display their documents.

POPS23andMe slashes price on personal genetics test Along with providing genetic information to individuals, 23andMe is also compiling databases of customers' genetic information to make available to researchers seeking new insights into those links. The price cut will ideally mean an influx of new information that will speed discoveries in the lab, said Linda Avey, who co-founded the Mountain View-based company last November.

Scientists and physicians hope that when sequencing costs come down enough, genetic analysis will become a ubiquitous part of health care, helping doctors choose the best treatments for a specific patient, or helping individuals take steps to prevent diseases for which they are at risk.

POPSFacebook backtracks on Beacon I wish this had been opt-in from the start, but I'm glad to see Facebook changing their program to make it less intrusive. I definitely don't want Christmas gifts ruined because someone can see what I purchased on a non-facebook site.
