Calif. Bill would require neutering of pets
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  6-8-2007    1
I had to think long & hard on this one. it would eliminate puppy mills. it would give shelter pets a better shot at adoption. I have seen many people breed a cat or dog so their kids can "see birth" -- then the offspring are abandoned. So I guess I would support this action for now.

Can Anyone Parent? Should They?
onlinedesign
by onlinedesign  8-24-2008    1
I am very active in my local Community with the "Spay and Neuter" program. Unfortunately, human parents do not practice this. I have a young friend who is 17, a Senior in HS, and she just proudly announced that she is pregnant. It makes me sick to think of how this bright young person just threw away her life - and worse, is bringing a new human person into this world - for no real reason. She said, "We just went out and bought all the 'stuff'' for the baby". I told her it's not like going to Pet Smart! Her family is wrapping her in this false bubble of happiness that I just do not subscribe to! What part of "they sell condoms at WalMart" do these people NOT understand??? There is simply no excuse anymore for "accidental pregnancies". When I was young birth control was NOT something you could run out and get at the drug store. There was no "only once every 3 months shot" you could get to prevent "stray humans". As for the young men - you are just nasty and foolish- use condoms

US Senator Dumps His Pregnant Dog at Pound
onlinedesign
by onlinedesign  7-20-2008    6
I am an advocate for the State of South Carolina and for Animal Rights, especially "getting your Pet Spayed and Neutered in SC". This is my Animal Care Blog: http://animalcare-sc.blogspot.com/ South Carolina is a wonderful, beautiful and unique place to live. When I hear such discusting displays of negligence and uncaring it hurts my heart to detail it, when it is a blight on my Community and yet another shame for my State. However, this story is already "out there" and it needs to be addressed. One of our SC Senators is grossly incapable of compassion, running his own household, spaying and neutering his pets, and really should not be in charge of other people's lives. It's a shame. But do you really want men without compassion running your State and leading your Nation? So, it's about a dumb dog? NO. It's about the "heart condition" and "neglect of responsibility" of one of our so called Leaders. Lead Men "by example," if not, go sell shoes or "DO" something else!

This how much our Goverment thinks of us, they spay chemicals into the air poisoning us. Then they tell us that our children are not getting enough sun, and that we must encourage our children go out side and breath in these lethal toxins.

The fix for pet overpopulation
valeehill
by valeehill  7-5-2007    2
The problem with pet overpopulation does not exist only with dogs and cats. Small animals and farm animals are often killed immediately because housing is not available at shelters. The phrase, "Do Not Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die" makes sense when so many millions are discarded. Many of these are purebred animals that few expect to see on "death row."
