POPSfrom her blog page... russian fashion model Katya Sotnikova has a bit funny and self-ironic userinfo in her blog which content is mainly concerned with glamour (as a tagline of the blog's owner). especially this one provocative photo collage there, it says in "bad internet guys" slang something like: Katya Sotnikova rules the world, Paris Hilton eats bedbugs (means, she's totally down).

POPSlost in translation- all your base are belong to us, in the comfort of your home
This is a very, very entertaining website. Ever visited an asian supermarket, and spent a long time looking at the seriously odd product descriptions? If so, prepare to waste a lot of time. This nifty little website takes your text and makes it truly worthy of any foreign translation! It works by running it through several languages in BabelFish, un-and-re translating. This description became: the previous paragraph became: This one provisory is not extremely the very common one in the site of the Web of the arrested internal part. Much hour comes, if it is taken through Asian of the supermarket, from searchs one used in the translation disowned of the serious product? With this case the situation of the red tape will be this basic feeding with useless. This selection is not, the small site of the Web estimates the text, tests, the end that will become having the obligation of extrangeira of everything, he is!

POPSWill Government Ever Learn From The Past? I doubt it. Today's Delancey's Place Tidbit, gives a brief encounter of what happened when the US Government "forced" a whole nation to go dry. What followed was a horrific scene of "forced" drunkenness, "forced" crime and "forced" misery... Today's Government "forced" War on Drugs has produced similar anguish especially for those who seek marijuana to relieve pain and suffering. Not to mention, if this so-called Governmental War on Drugs would lax some of its absurdities, the revenue collected from such sales would help the sinking economy. But it is not about a failing policy, it's all about politics and getting elected. Common sense, must take a back seat once again. Stupidity continues to rule, as time marches on! thinkingblue

POPS‘Shank’ website is aimed at the kids who carry knives Online article from the Sun about the application "superpoke" including "shank" in its list of actions. What a load of rubbish. There's not this sort of outcry about the fact players can go online in NUMEROUS games, create characters that represent themselves and then proceed to stab eachother, as well as a whole host of other actions. The fact that a tiny, crudely drawn picture of a knife has recieved this sort of response is ridiculous. Saying that the site promotes gang violence etc. is competely outrageous. Especially since there are discalimers on facebook when adding the application saying it was not produced by the makers of Facebook. What an over the top, ridiculous article. Also, you'l notice how its an 'exclusive'.. I wonder why... POPSPublic Space 2 There is a connection between this and the previous clip. The first is the result of the collapse of the boundaries between the public and the private so that there is no longer behaviour which is deemed wrong in public. The second is an attempt to reconstruct that boundary.

POPSNelson Rolihlahla Mandela Turns 90 Today Nelson Mandela spent 27 years as a political prisoner in South Africa before becoming the country's first black president. Mandela was a leading member of the African National Congress (ANC), which opposed South Africa's white minority government and its policy of racial separation, known as apartheid. The government outlawed the ANC in 1960. Mandela was captured and jailed in 1962, and in 1964 he was convicted of treason and sentenced to life in prison. Instead of disappearing from view, Mandela became a prison-bound martyr and worldwide symbol of resistance to racism. South African President F.W. de Klerk finally lifted the ban on the ANC and released Mandela in 1990. Mandela used his stature to help dismantle apartheid and form a new multi-racial democracy, and he and de Klerk shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. Mandela was elected the country's president in 1994. He served until 1999, when he was succeeded by his deputy Thabo Mbeki.

POPSFox Noise Is At It Again!! Dear Fox News or rather Noise, Your behavior goes way beyond the pale. In fact your type of excessive fear mongering displays exactly what you try to paint Senator Barack Obama as... foreign, un-American, suspicious, and scary. I realize your viewers are mainly the Limbaugh Ditto Heads but that doesn't excuse your spewing racist and bigoted defamation over our airwaves. You should hang your heads in shame but you have no shame. If you had a human attribute such as guilt you would have stopped long ago to slander anyone who went against your mindset of the rich should get richer and the poor should get lies and distortion. In other words keep the ignorant, ignorant! Your sponsors are as responsible as you, in their disservice to the public and I hope with all that is good they will eventually become losers just like yourselves.

POPSLexicographical Longing in the Dictionary of Sailors’ Slang.) Before the cooling in the ’90s of America’s passion for colossal encyclopedia sets (bought from door-to-door salesmen), and well before the advent of massless Wikipedia.org and Dictionary.com, the navy blue compact O.E.D. was part of the standard décor of a bookish middle-class life. I was overjoyed to have one of my own. Furthermore, my other totemic college books — “Speculum of the Other Woman,” “Reading Black, Reading Feminist” and “Sexuality in the Field of Vision” — could go out of style, maybe; the O.E.D. was forever. Wasn’t it? No.

POPSBTW, teen writing may cause teachers to :( Many teens slip non-standard english into their writing projects. Here's a thought: If students were blogging for their teachers and held accountable for their grammar and punctuation, maybe their facebook pages would improve.
