The Oxygen Dilemma: Can Too Much O2 Kill?
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  Yesterday 5:46 AM    5
I've been hearing some climate change skeptics use the argument, that CO2 is a benign gas and therefore can cause no harm to the environment. I clipped this article, to highlight, that whether or not a substance is "benign" or not, or natural, is not the issue. It's the disruption of BALANCE and concentration of various chemicals, that is the issue. Table salt is pretty non-toxic, but concentrations in the body beyond the mere 0.9 percent can kill you, which is why you'd die of dehydration if you drank sea water. We can all agree, that ordinary drinking water is probably the most benign substance we know, yet if you drink too much of it, it can kill you, too. Climate change is about the disruption of the balance of nature, not about the *toxicity* of the chemicals involved, in itself, so THIS particular argument used by skeptics is not valid. Other (esp. political) arguments may be, but not this one. Just sayin'...

5 Monroe Avenue 14534 (585) 473 7035 Awarebear Computers Rochester Ny | (awarebear) Pittsford Ny | Static Dischage Arthur Leite, Aware Bear Computers researcher and technician. Electro-static affects greatly increases as humidity decreases. At the Aware Bear locations, we have to make sure not only that our rooms are in the right temperature to work on computers, but also we always have to keep our eyes on the humidity, sometimes I feel like I work at a salt water fish tank hehe Says Michael W. sales rep. of Aware Bear in Pittsford.

Steel Buildings - Kits And Plans
devidmark
by devidmark  12-17-2009
Steel is certainly becoming the metal of choice when it comes to designing and constructing buildings of all shapes and sizes. The main reason for this is that steel is one of the most durable materials available, and it has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of all building metals. This essentially means that less steel is needed to erect a building because of it's strength and durability, which also means that there is a savings in construction costs.

 3. Roll dough into 3/4-inch balls. Place close together on baking sheets. Make a little dent in the top of each ball and fill them with 1/2 teaspoon (or less) of the jam. Bake for 15 minutes or until slightly brown. Do not over bake. Cool on a wire rack. Variation: You can replace 1/4 cup of the oil with 1/2 cup of peanut butter (applesause could likely be substituted also)
