POPSPlease quit listening to "expert"! Wow, wish I lived in these people's world. Unemployment is skyrocketing every day, people are being moved from full time to part time (could you pay your mortgage on 50% of your pay?), and this guys thinks that a "moratorium" on foreclosures will help? Banks are barely issuing mortgages NOW, you allow this to happen and they will stop altogether. And finally, the reason December sales "grew" was because of nationwide AUCTIONS. This is not a positive. We are not 3/4s of the way through, we aren't even 1/2 way there. Hope you all are stashing cash (at home, not banks) and stocking up on food, when all these foolhardy plans are finally stopped-as they will have to be-we will see the real trouble.

POPS"Chrysler is Going Out of Business. The Company Just Hasn’t Made It Official."
Taxpayers are likely to lose most of the $81 billion that Congress and the administration sunk into the two companies, according to the Congressional Oversight Panel. Chrysler is expected to lose all $14.3 billion of the taxpayers' money. The daily management of Chrysler is controlled by Fiat which owns 20% of the U.S. company with options which could take that amount to 35%. Fiat has not put any money into Chrysler, so if the American firm becomes a significant operational or management burden there are very few reason for the Italian company, which has sales troubles of its own in Europe, to stay long term. Fiat lost $254 million in the second quarter, so its board may eventually believe that Chrysler is a distraction and one without a future. What Chrysler needs most from Fiat is money. If Fiat's own bleed continues, there will remain only one choice for management. In the mean time, the traditional competitors like Toyota, Honda and Nissan aren't Chrysler's . . .

POPSObama Administration Behind Ammo Shortage? The great ammo shortage mystery solved. It's not just high demand as this proves. Ammo supplies are being manipulated by pinching the normal supply of used brass from Dept of Defense sources. This is why it takes 7 weeks to get an order from ammo suppliers presently, and likely to get worse. This also ruins the business of ammo suppliers. Higher demand surely plays a role too as both gun and ammo sales have increased dramatically since the elections and financial crisis. Article tells how to notify your Congressmen that someone is by-passing Congress on gun control.

POPSKenya's Elephants Die of Drought and Poaching Although Kenya was not included in the sale, Douglas-Hamilton said any ivory sales immediately push up global demand, since elephants could be killed in Kenya and their tusks smuggled into a foreign stockpile. Around 23,000 elephants live in Kenya but populations can be devastated by poaching within a couple of years. A recent survey in Chad showed its elephant population had declined from 3,800 to just over 600 in the past three years. "The drought is one of nature's big events," he said. "It hits all animals, elephants, people and others but the ivory trade is much more serious and could do much more damage if it remains unchecked.

POPSAmerican Socialism & Chinese Capitalism
We have urged China to join us in our quixotic attempt to prevent global warming. She has refused, arguing that her per capita consumption of energy is the lowest of any industrial country. Except for the leftist economists, economics tells us that we should let the prices of different energy sources determine when a new source is ready for development. No subsidy would be required if we let the market make the decision. Totalitarian China accepts this approach; free market U.S. takes the Soviet prescription. American firms are currently not investing in the United States. Net non-residential investment is barely enough to replace capital that is wearing out. Instead, billions have been wasted by corporate managers who have been engaging in such foolishness as buying back corporate stock. All this does is increase share prices that will supposedly justify management bonuses when earnings stagnate. Even banks did this throughout the run-up to the financial crisis, . . . . .
