POPSStay The Heck Out Of Tenn.-This Means You Bloomberg Gun show investigations showing how criminals can aquire guns without background checks upsets gun loving state officials in Virginia and Tennessee. Bloomberg is also under fire by Virginians in a new ad released by the National Rifle Association, too. But members of the Italian-American community say they feel targeted, as well. One part of the ad goes like this: "Our New York Mayor Bloomberg came down here to take away some of your Virginia gun rights. You see, the mayor thinks you guys are responsible for our New York crime problem." The ad also depicts an apparent Big Apple "wise guy" who strongly "suggests" voters not elect gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell, a gun rights activist. "I want you to do it for New York. If you know what's good for you," the ad says.

POPSDownload The Book By treating the electronic version of a book as information rather than property, and circulating it as widely as possible, many authors such as Paulo Coelho and Cory Doctorow actually end up selling more copies of the physical version. Pirate copies of The Pirate’s Dilemma are out there online anyway, and they don’t seem to have harmed sales. My guess is they are helping. To be honest, I was flattered that the book got pirated in the first place.

POPS20 Words That Spam Filters Kill
have two choices when it comes to beating the filters. One is to avoid using these words and phrases altogether. .. hard to do second choice is to disguise these words and phrases in clever ways by inserting keyboard symbols within them and/or replacing a letter in them with a symbol. The trick is not to make it too cryptic...use "fr*ee" for free.. the points this tactic costs, penalize's you much less than using the words and phrases themselves. It's not a perfect solution. It's a great idea to test how YOUR e-zine stacks up before you send it out. The good news is you can do this for FREE. Lyris' Content Checker (http://www.lyris.com/contentchecker/) tells you how your e-zine ranks in Spam Assassin. All you do is copy your e-zine text and paste it into the box on their site..report will tell you exactly which words are costing you points. you should only be concerned if your score is over 5 points. If so, you can either delete those words or disguise them

POPSRadiohead's Album Still Selling Despite the band's pay-what-you-want release of the album three months ago, "In Rainbows" is still the #1 album on the Billboard charts. Just how much of a ding it might have taken from its digital distribution stunt still isn't clear.

POPS FOUR PINOCCHIOS AND THE GEPPETTO CHECK MARK
The cut-and-paste job Huckabee needed to come up with an immigration plan in a hurry last month. He was beginning his remarkable ascent in opinion polls, but was under attack from GOP rivals for a "liberal" position on immigration while governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007. When the campaign announced the governor's nine-point immigration plan on Dec. 6, it noted that it was "partially modeled" on Krikorian's proposal three years earlier. But Huckabee took credit for the plan in the Republican debate on Thursday night, and Mitt Romney's campaign is crying foul. A point-by-point comparison of the two plans supports the Romney critique. Huckabee's is virtually identical to Krikorian's, with the exception of two points: Build the Fence and Establish an Economic Border. Huckabee says that his proposal for a flat-rate sales tax, known as the "fair tax," would create an "economic disincentive" for illegal immigration, by forcing undocumented workers to pay taxes.

POPSDoctor sacrificed dog for salespeople This doctor's unethical actions, legal or not, demonstrate his lack of empathy and respect for animals and life. The term sociopath comes to mind. I know people like him, people who insist that they have the right to maim and kill animals in the interest of science and who refuse to use readily available alternatives. They get their jollies playing God with the lives of innocent creatures.
