unwanted side effects:cocaine vaccine leads addicts to take 10 times more cocaine
doodleicious
by doodleicious  Yesterday 1:26 PM
this has never been my drug of choice-but i have many friends who's lives have been crippled by this junk- anyways- they talk of this unwanted side effect- of trying to overcompensate - by taking more cocaine............i read about tests done in where they took out- surgically removed the pleasure centers of addicts brains - in hopes of killing the cause and effect of the addiction- nope- these people were still addicted to cocaine- though they no longer had any perceivable "feeling" to taking the drug- frightening ughhh......and very sad methadone will do the same thing for junkies too- they try to do heroin- before their daily dose- of methadone kicks in - in hopes they will feel the high........

What social media means to me...
egoldstein
by egoldstein  12-30-2009    8
This is an excerpt from a piece I just wrote (it continues at the source). I was inspired to write it after looking at a series of photos labeled "The Decade in Pictures" that made me feel very sad about this past decade. After looking at them my only thought was that hopefully we are all so fed up with the way things have been that we can rally together to bring about a better decade ahead. The potential impact of social media gives me great hope! Oh, and i didn't realize that written posts didn't make their way into the Amplify Newsfeed of Public Timeline...i ought to rethink that :)

No greater evil
dl211
by dl211  1-6-2010    4
As of now, they are operating in the open; all that remains, truly, is for them to lay claim to the brand "communist." Whether the individual far-left zealot in America is stupid, deluded or evil, the end game shall play out in the same manner: It will result in a society in which an unproductive, mediocre, larcenous few squeeze everyone else for their profit and pleasure. Our current president is one of those few. This is indeed sad, for, in addition to the groundbreaking nature of his presidency, Barack Obama is obviously a gifted man. He could have actually accomplished something meaningful with his life; instead, he has dedicated that life – from early on, mind you – to destroying the greatest nation, and people, that has ever come along. Can you think of a greater evil?

Blue State Governors Cry Foul Over Health Care Bill
merrie
by merrie  12-30-2009    1
“When asked for my support, I was assured that federal legislation would not increase costs to California or include new unfunded mandates,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “Unfortunately, under nearly every scenario we can predict, the federal health care reform legislation being debated would cost California’s General Fund an additional $3 billion to $4 billion annually.” ….. Arnold’s already looking for a bailout from Uncle Sam. They loved Porkulus, but it’s not going to help them now. The sad thing is, it’s doubtful either one of them has anything against government takeover of health care. They just don’t want it passed onto their state budgets.  Alvin and the Chipmunks-Bad Day, i found pictures of the movie and i put them together with the song, they are really adorable. Where is the moment we needed the most You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to gray They tell me your passion's gone away And I don't need no carryin' on You stand in the line just to hit a new low You're faking a smile with the coffee you go You tell me your life's been way off line You're falling to pieces every time And I don't need no carryin' on Because you had a bad day You're taking one down You sing a sad song just to turn it around You say you don't know You tell me don't lie You work at a smile and you go for a ride You had a bad day The camera don't lie You're coming back down and you really don't mind You had a bad day You had a bad day Will you need a blue sky holiday? The point is they laugh at what you say And I don't need no carryin' on You had a bad day You're taking o

Playing A Character
debbyski

Palin and those conservative women who aspire to be like her love living in ignorance. They have been eating, sleeping, and working in pollution so long that they not only believe that is just the way the air is, but they advocate the air is not polluted and actually good for you. They buy into that twisted kind of logic because their survival and identity depends upon it. The stress of having to pretend to be innately superior at all times and buy into this belief system is more than the human organism can tolerate so they become angry, hateful, intolerant wanna be bullies who aspire to have a Sarah Palin book under their Christmas tree. To challenge them or doubt them is akin to heresy. Too bad they are buying into the myth that states there is only one reality because it limits the search in seeking any understanding for other human beings. Sad and pathetic.

How to keep riding through the winter
Lexica
by Lexica  12-17-2009
More: * We keep our bags, panniers, tool kits, lights, water bottles, and whatever else, on the bikes and ready to go. * We perform bike maintenance on a regular schedule. This includes topping off tires, charging batteries, lubing chains, and keeping the bikes clean. A flat tire or a squeaky chain is just another unwelcome excuse to take the car. Besides trying to always make riding the convenient choice, we also try to encourage each other when the going’s a little rough. And when we get a break in the weather, we always take the opportunity to go for a joy ride for the sheer pleasure of it, because keeping it enjoyable is probably the best motivator of all.

THE DEADLIEST CARD GAME IN TOWN
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  11-29-2009
but they have joined the right’s sycophants and willingly do the bidding of the LOBBY FIRMS in order to receive the dirty money (more like blood money) these cut-throats will give them (to turn a blind eye) in the form of campaign contributions. A shell game of sorts, where the suckers, in many instances, have no idea of what is going on and how it negatively affects their well-being. It's a sad game that cannot be won by anyone who falls into a category called LOW-INCOME. The banks and credit card companies’ makeup all the rules and they are always in their favor. NO ONE, can get out of the traps they set, while they siphon off any earnings said suckers have given their blood, sweat and tears to acquire. It should be a crime because it is criminal but it is not. Watch, learn and weep for those who get snared in THE DEADLIEST CARD GAME IN TOWN, where there is no place to turn for help. It’s Official! Media Matters Morphs Into One-Stop Fisting Information Clearinghouse
merrie
by merrie  12-16-2009    2
According to Lott, “The kit was actually for making a “dental dam” " designed to prevent STD transmission during oral sex.” Which, of course, was pretty obvious, given that the kit reportedly consisted of “a single plastic glove, a package of K-Y lubricant,” and instructions titled “How to Make a Dental Dam From a Latex Glove.” Did you get that? GLSEN’s porn pushing on 14 year-olds was OK because they were instructing the young teens on how to build dental dams and not on how to fist. Oh, that’s a relief. After all, shouldn’t every child know how to build a dental dam? It’s now clear that Media Matters will go to any length to defend any perverted act by any Obama Administration official. Even if they have to defend child porn books and dental dam techniques to do it. How sad. UPDATE: Media Matters just can’t help themselves. Here’s their latest rant defending child porn promoter Kevin Jennings: Read full post http://bit.ly/6Sr3AC

America's Epitaph
dl211
by dl211  12-14-2009
Karl Marx dismissed God as a hoax, and Lenin and Stalin have added in clear-cut, unmistakable language their resolve that no nation, no people who believe in a god, can exist side by side with their communistic state. Karl Marx, for example, expelled people from his Communist Party for mentioning such things as love, justice, humanity or morality. He called this "soulful ravings" and "sloppy sentimentality." . . . Today we are engaged in a final, all-out battle between communistic atheism and Christianity. The modern champions of communism have selected this as the time, and ladies and gentlemen, the chips are down--they are truly down.

However I think all the old ladies who gave their precious few dollars to a charlatan who said "give me $$ or god will take me" are far better off without him around... However, I'm sure the uber-weathly Richard Roberts is proud of the empire his dad built ... proud enough to lead the lifestyle of the rich & famous.

Wake Up Before Obama Destroys The US
dl211
by dl211  12-14-2009    1
And I’d add, as Mr. Obama destroys our economic freedom and prosperity, we will be heading toward the day when we cannot afford or maintain our national security and military systems that keep us safe. Then, on our foreign policy plight under Mr. Obama, Mr. Podhoretz writes, “In global affairs, will the United States sit mute and inactive as the world’s most dangerous regimes acquire the world’s most dangerous weapons – or will we muster the will to prevent them from doing so? Will we continue to apologize for being the greatest, the noblest, the freest, and the most selfless nation in the history of the world – or will we find the strength, yet again, to resist the temptation to blame ourselves for the slings and arrows hurled at us by those who wish us ill?”
