Later in the day a troupe of gnomes trampled the gladiolas outside the student union building while just this morning a renegade unicorn was rumored to be harassing a pagan sacrifice on the quad. POPSRecruited by MI5: the name's Mussolini. He was also willing to send in the boys to "persuade'' peace protesters to stay at home. Mussolini's payments were authorised by Sir Samuel Hoare, an MP and MI5's man in Rome, who ran a staff of 100 British intelligence officers in Italy at the time.

POPSItaly denies paying off Taliban Italy also denied the Times' report that the US ambassador had submitted a formal complaint after discovering through intercepted phone conversations that Italians had been buying off militants in the far-west Herat province. A US embassy spokeswoman in Rome said the embassy does not comment "on internal diplomatic conversations that may or may not have occurred." The newspaper cited a high-ranking Western intelligence source as calling the Italian behaviour an "utter disgrace" and that the "Italians have a hell of a lot to answer for."

POPSCITIZENS FOR BETTER GOVERNMENT
"Nations richer and more powerful in their day than we are in this, have been sabotaged, defeated, enslaved. Babylon was the largest and richest nation of its time, but its lust for luxury made it an easy mark for the Medes and Persians who overran it, and divided its land and enslaved the people between them. Rome was a greater military power than we ever were, but when free bread and circuses became more important to the people than hard work and patriotism, Rome was invaded and looted by the tougher Vandals. The Incas were the most civilized, richest people in the Americas, but ruthless, better-armed invaders destroyed them as a nation, and looted everything they owned and had spent generations in creating. In every case it was the self indulgent weakness of the victim which made victory of the invader easy. Undoubtedly there were Babylonians, Romans, Incas who warned against overindulgence and weakness, who warned that each citizen is responsible for his nation, and that

POPSReduce carbon emissions? I'd rather keep flying, thanks Pensioners here can travel free on rail. Good way to travel, if you have the time. I'm sure the Poms are just a reflection of what the attitudes of most are. Easier to believe that global warming is not caused by our wants and that there is nothing we can do about it.

POPS Obama as Dr. Evil
Part of this was due to opposition to specific policies, and a belief that on certain critical issues, America has acted unilaterally, without regard for the interests of others. This has fed an almost reflexive anti-Americanism, which too often has served as an excuse for our collective inaction. Like all of you, my responsibility is to act in the interest of my nation and my people, and I will never apologize for defending those interests. But it is my deeply held belief that in the year 2009 " more than at any point in human history " the interests of nations and peoples are shared. It irks me that Obama believes that our interests are shared. Our interests could be shared, if Iran didn’t want to obliterate Israel, for example. However, presently that is not a shared interest of the United States. Obama courts the world, telling them how he appeases them"closing Guantanamo Bay, ending torture, ending weapons systems, ridding the world of nuclear weapons, and so on . .
