Watch Surrogates Online for Free
moviesonlinex
by moviesonlinex  6-18-2009    14
Watch Surrogates Movie. Watch Surrogates Movie Online. Watch Surrogates Without Download. Watch Surrogates for Free. The filmmaking trio behind the hit sci-fi sequel Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines re-team to explore a future in which humans live in isolation while only communicating with their fellow man through robots that serve as social surrogates and are better-looking versions of their human counterparts. Bruce Willis stars as an FBI agent who enlists the aid of his own surrogate to investigate the murder of the genius college student who invented the surrogates.

Google Wave, Screenshot Tour and Video
merrie
by merrie  10-4-2009    5
When someone updates a wave in your inbox, it turns bold and moves to the top of your inbox"just like email. If a contact of yours is online, a little green dot appears on his or her icon. All the modules are collapsible and dock themselves in the upper part of the screen. If you've collapsed your inbox and a new wave gets updated, it flashes green. Here I've clicked on new wave and minimized all the other modules to expand my workspace. You can add all sorts of rich content to your wave, like a YouTube video, Google Map, image, links, or anything that a gadget enables. (More on gadgets below.) Here I've added some colored text and embedded a video clip in my wave. When I finish typing and click the Done button on my wave, Wave pops up the "Add participants" module so I can share my wave with anyone on my contacts list. You can search for a contact by name, or just drag and drop anyone to the wave you choose. Once you've shared a wave, the magic starts to happen.

Planet Robo: Population Will Exceed 1 Million Worldwide by 2010
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  10-4-2009
"DO NOT TAKE A BATH WITH YOUR ROBOT WHILE JUGGLING CHAINSAWS." Best advice I’ve heard all year. But where are all of these robots? Mostly they are things like those little Roombas and Robomowers that creep in and around tech-savvy homes. The author identifies a looming problem, with military contractors driving the manufacture and spread of Robosapiens, we need to begin focusing on the ethics of their use for civilian applications. Getting a robot to identify the enemy under military situations is quite different from relying on them to patrol civilian streets. It’s no longer a great stretch to imagine robocops in patrol cars in the near future.

Where's Waldo?
dmoonme1
by dmoonme1  9-9-2009
"I guess you could cut off the battery packs," he said. "But it's so specialized it really doesn't have many other applications." There are two other drones with similar capabilities at Mote but they belong to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- and there are no funds available for them to perform Waldo's mission. "We'd have to go back to sending people out in boats to collect water samples," he said. "That's not a very efficient way to do it." Waldo, a scientific robot used to detect red tide, was last heard from on Monday. Mote is offering a $500 reward. Well it had a pretty long working life I suppose. It was probably eaten by a Great White Shark. That's my guess, anyway.

Man sentenced after leaving water bottles for immigrants
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  8-14-2009
They charged him with littering!? This is what they come up with? The attorneys all know this is bogus. The real reason he was arrested is because they consider him an enemy of the state, for being a humanitarian. Because, as everybody knows, it is an “obvious conclusion that the defendant and No More Deaths wish to aid illegal aliens in their entry attempt”. It couldn’t possibly be that they don’t want to see humans die in the desert for lack of water, no, it must be a dastardly and criminal attack against US policy. Then they back up their ridiculous ‘reasoning’ with this statement “animals could eat the plastic and others could get feet or antlers caught on the bottles”. Incredible. Yes folks, we now have proof that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have more concern for the welfare of animals than they do for humans. Way to tow the party line you government robots.
