POPSLa Strada(The Road:1954) Ending Scene okay, i confess i have never heard of this film until earlier this year and while watching it i didnt know what would be in the last scene. but when i saw it, i was literally stunned by its power. i cant remember a scene in the movies, especially that captured such monumental heartbreak, regret and loneliness. what was really devestating was knowing i have played that scene in my life too many times, it is terribly familiar.

POPS'The population is with me' Speaking at a briefing of science journalists, Professor David Nutt leant back in his chair and said his only regret was the way the government had treated him.

POPSAhmadinejad: Obama Will 'Regret' Accusing Iran of Hiding Nuclear Plant Doesn't this seem like such a political farce? Everyone already knew about it so what's the secret? Is Medvedev's comment the price we paid Russia for ditching the missile shield? Is this a set-up to give Israel the go-ahead? FTA: "U.S. intelligence believes that the secret Iranian nuclear facility is in an underground tunnel complex on a military base controlled by the elite Revolutionary Guards." "The location at the military base would also undermine Iran's claim that the program is for civilian purposes." Ya think??

POPSI Look To You As I lay me down, heaven hear me now. I'm lost without a cause after giving it my all. Winter storms have come and darkened my sun. After all that I've been through Who on earth can I turn to? I look to you. I look to you. After all my strength is gone, in you I can be strong I look to you. I look to you. And when melodies are gone, in you I hear a song. I look to you. About to lose my breathe, there's no more fighting left, Sinking to rise no more, searching for that open door. And every road that I've taken lead to my regret. And I don't know if I'm going to make it. Nothing to do but lift my head

POPSOur Natural Place in the World This is just the beginning of a 3 part essay that, for me, embodied the form of spirituality I regularly experience in my life. It's always a revelation when you see something coming from another mind that has so many points of commonality with your own thinking. Part 3 held the most significance for me.

POPSSayed Pervez Kambaksh: Free At Last full story at source: Only a handful of people were aware of the intensive diplomatic negotiations which took place behind the scenes to get Mr Kambaksh out of jail, details of which cannot be revealed to protect those, Afghans and foreigners, who were involved. Hardline Islamists, including a number of political figures close to the government of President Karzai, have repeatedly called for Mr Kambaksh's execution and were fiercely critical when an appeal court reduced the original death sentence to 20 years' imprisonment. One senior diplomatic source said: "The danger is very real and we are well aware that there will be a reaction when it becomes clear that Pervez had gone. It was imperative he was safely out of the way before attempts could be made to block that."

POPSMurky business... Not over yet? How will we survive without their valuable services? ;) Agency? Raised $4,5 billion from whom? Did you see their patrons? Hmm, I mean, victims...:( Remember their local offices and paper trash in front of them? Only one which I wouldn't regret for a bit.

POPSPfizer Agrees to Pay Record Fraud Fine The pharmaceutical firm said earlier this year that it would pay the fine "to put issues that diminish trust behind us". Behind you? You wish. As far as I am concerned, the words "trust" and "pharmaceutical firm", simply do not belong together in the same sentence.

POPSThey Fete Terrorists, Don’t They? Meanwhile, some New Jersey officials who don’t care to provide Moammar Gadhafi with any propaganda opportunities during his upcoming United Nations harangue are trying to eighty-six him from a Libyan-owned mansion in Englewood, currently undergoing renovations and the suspected site of Mo’s next Bedouin tent encampment. via Boston Herald. Good luck. It’s within the 25-mile radius of New York that representatives of despotic nations are allowed to travel when here on UN business. Malkin suggests writing to the U.S. State Department. Always good to let your government know how you feel, but I’d refer Malkin to the above paragraph regarding the Obama admin. You’re on your own, Englewood. You could always park a municipal garbage truck upwind from Camp Mo, something like that, but that would be wrong.

POPS10 most historically inaccurate movies more: Braveheart, 1995 Not only was the Scottish hero William Wallace gruesomely executed in 1305, having been captured by the English at Falkirk, but seven centuries later his memory was exhumed, smeared with blue face paint and mutilated by Mel Gibson. Wallace was not the poor villager the film depicts, but a landowner and minor knight. The litany of fibs extends from Wallace’s love interest (Queen Isabella would have been about two-years-old at the time) to his kilt – a garment not developed for another three centuries. The historian Sharon L. Krossa likens it to “a film about Colonial America showing the colonial men wearing 20th century business suits.”

POPSFree Hate Speech A "Reverend" a "Minister" "Pastor" Steven L. Anderson actually titles his sermon "Why I Hate Barack Obama". Are the Democrats really THIS crazy and rabid when they are not in power? Why is America like this?

POPSSEEDS We are all guilty of it at some point and to some degree now and then, myself included. I do try (and as a human sometimes fail) to avoid gossiping. When we speak wrongly of others, not only are you cheating the person with whom we are speaking to out of knowing a potentially good friend, but we are also cheating the person being spoken of. We are essentially assisting the listener to form a negative opinion of another. So please think about the harm you can inflict upon others, before you say something about that person. Thank you kindspirit

POPSRight-wing Town Hall Boobs
To: clipmarks commenter: Apparently, you haven’t watched any of the videos I have offered on the Townhallers (new urban word) if you had you wouldn’t be defending them (or then again, you most likely were told by the likes of Limbaugh et al, to join the mobs to stop Health Care Reform. Not because you think it’s a bad bill but because you were TOLD to hurt President Obama in the hopes that he’ll fail.) These people are a sad lot, what they are willing to swallow is pathetic. Be very afraid because Obama wants to pull the plug on Grandma? Does that sound rational to you? Obama wants us to be like Russia? WTF?? I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion even if such opinion sounds stupid or insane. But when they go out and display their absurdities in public and are filmed on videos which are spread across all our TV’s and don’t feel an inkling of shame or regret at their actions (as a matter of fact they act proud, that they are so pathetically irresponsible and mindless) more...

POPS"Clean me" - dirty car art by Scott Wade Drawings using dirt ? I'm impressed! I love black & white drawings and Scott Wade is very talented. But ....personally, the impermanence of it (his drawings being washed away) would be too hard to take after spending hours on it. Very good thing that his day job is a graphic designer.

POPS"A Boy and His Frog" - a tribute to Jim Henson More: No one can make me what you did, No one could walk in your shoes, Nothing can make me forget you, But that's not a thing that I'd choose. I can't just let it be over, And you wouldn't want it that way, So I'll stand up and I'll face it, And, though not quite in your voice, I'll say: I will go on without you there to guide me, There's so much more I can give. Whenever I sing, you will be there beside me, As long as I keep you, you'll live. We just wanted to make people smile, I was always much more than your toy. I will never regret and I'll never forget What we had, I'll miss you, Dad, This frog and his boy.

POPSU.S. is not the only accused meddler Many people may believe that Obama 'could do and say more.' Maybe nothing is the thing to do - while we sit and wait it out, seems Iran may be shifting blame to Britain by expelling diplomats.

POPSLegitimate Concerns? I can see both sides in the reluctance to become involved in this institution. We do live in a global community now and must learn to get along with our neighbors which includes having enforceable laws governing such relationships. Could it be that the Pentagon is not so much worried about the court being used wrongly but in the court exposing real wrongs they've committed?
