POPSThe Stoning of Soraya M (www.thestoning.com) A shocking and true drama, it exposes the dark power of mob rule, uncivil law, and the utter lack of human rights for women. The last and only hope for some measure of justice lies in the hands of the journalist who must escape with the story -- and his life -- so the world will know.

POPSIdaho police sodomize man with Taser
There is a case in Florida where a group of 14-year-old boys are going to be tried as adults because they sodomized one of their classmates with broomsticks and hockey sticks. These are cops in this case. Should be treated any differently? After an internal investigation, police determined that the first officer violated the department’s use-of-force policy. And the second officer violated department policy when he erased the taped interview. They have been “disciplined” and are to receive more training. This was a deviant and sadistic act. No amount of ‘training’ is going to suppress the trigger that allowed this individual to resort to this type of inhumane treatment. What is additionally disgusting is that none of the other cops present tried to stop this. It is unconscionable that police will allow this individual back on the street with only a slap on the wrist. I used to have respect for cops. Now I am scared to death and on guard whenever near a cop. Fear is no

POPSDéjàClick update : I found this thing to be very buggy, most likely as a result of a conflict with one of my many extensions. Caused weird things to happen that were unrelated to it's purpose and function. Had to uninstall. Going to try it in a clean profile and see how it does.

POPSExperienced Pilots Discuss 9/11, Refute Official Story Interview with John Lear, son of Lear Jet founder, who flew CIA missions: "no Arab hijacker, ever, in a million years flew into the World Trade Center....not on the first try....certainly not at 5 or 600 mph...it would be an amazing fete of airmanship". Beginning at the 6:55 min mark he tells his view of 9/11 as "a scam" from the view of experienced pilots, who also tried on simulator to "hit" the Twin Towers. The interview goes in and out of 9/11 discussion after diverting to various other subjects. They discuss the NTSB flight record analysis (pictured) allegedly recovered but which has a very major discrepancy in the altimeter setting. He also discusses former covert ops flying for CIA, and Israel and Mossad are mentioned as well, which is also interesting to hear what goes on that US citizens never hear about, including drug running.

POPSSkype Lie Detector A nice new toy comes with Skype now: a software program to detect lies. Try it out with Bill Clinton's 'I did not have sex' speech.

POPSThe Polygraph Myth It is a sign of our times that the scientific critique of polygraph testing has gained almost no traction on government policy. To the contrary, the use of the polygraph to perform the sort of screening that Lykken termed a "menace in American life" is actually on the rise. If you're interested, check out the Use of Polygraph Examinations in the Department of Justice Report (pdf; dd September 2006); a +150page report on the governmental use of polygraphs in the US.

POPSHow to speak (or not speak) during an interview
5. Speed Talking:A rapid speaking rate is difficult to follow, and speed talkers are seen as nervous. Slow down your racing heart by doing some breathing exercises before the interview. To avoid rushing, listen to the question, and then count two beats in your head before answering. When you finish a sentence, count two beats again before continuing. Don't be afraid of silence. Pausing is an effective communication technique. The interviewer needs a few seconds to process what you just said anyway. 6. Weak Speak: Wimpy words modify or water down your conviction and in the end your position. When you pepper a conversation with “hopefully,” “perhaps,” “I feel,” “kind of” and “sort of,” the message you convey is a lack of confidence. Use power words such as “I'm confident that,” “my track record shows,” “I take the position that,” “I recommend” or “my goal is.” The language you use gives the listener an impression about your level of confidence and conviction.

POPSRWB Rank Israel near WORST for mistreatment of Journalist. Paris-based Reporters Without Borders organization have again ranked the Zionist state near the bottom in its annual World Press Freedom Index. That day 3 IDF soldiers had died and revenge was expected. It was not expected that a cameraman doing his job would be a target. Uniquely, the murder was recorder on the video camera on his shoulder. Supposedly the camera was mistaken for a missile. NO action of any type was taken against the killer. Par for the course in the morally corrupt society and its armed terrorist wing, the IDF. Hopefully Obama will withdraw financial support from this soon. I care little if the withdrawal is for moral or financial reasons.

POPSA Quiet Day What are some vocal heterosexuals afraid of when it comes to same-sex marriages? I live in a rural area and I can easily show displays of affection with my husband in public, but I wouldn't dare dream of doing that with a woman unless I wanted to be a victim of a hate crime. Gays are just like everyone else. Some people may not like it, but it's nobodies business to tell anyone else who to love.

POPSGet Camtasia For Free - Screencasting Software I mentioned yesterday how you could get TechSmith's "SnagIt" for free. Little did I know that Camtasia was free too. Camtasia is a screen recorder, which allows you to make tutorials and record what happens on your screen. Sure these are older versions, but they have plenty of features that folks paid a lot of money for at one time. Go get some!

POPS“Guilty as Hell, Free as a Bird, America is Great"
I interviewed Ayers ten years ago, in a kindergarten classroom in uptown Manhattan where he was employed to shape the minds of inner city children. Dressed in bib overalls with golden curls rolling below his ears, Ayers reviewed his activities as a terrorist for my tape recorder. When he was done, he broke into a broad, Jack Horner grin and summed up his experience: “Guilty as hell. Free as a bird. America is a great country.” What I saw was a shallowness beyond conception. All the Weather leaders I interviewed shared a similar vacuity. They were living inside a utopian fantasy, a separate reality, and had no idea of what they had done. Nor any way to measure it. Appreciating the nation to which they were born, recognizing the great gifts of freedom and opportunity their parents and communities had given them, distinguishing between right and wrong – it was all above their mental and moral ceiling. In the days ahead, this is one of the dangers we face. -David Horowitz

POPSThis Just In: iPod Still Has No Built-In Mic Apple's iPod still lacks one feature that virtually every other MP3 player on the market already has: a built-in mic. Having to shell out an extra $50 to $70 for an iPod attachment that can record would seem to be something to poke fun at, not celebrate. - Louis Hau

POPSFlip Video I received a Flip Mino as a birthday gift last month. I've played around with it, but haven't had a good opportunity to show it off with a post yet. It's SUPER easy and produces good quality videos. If you're looking for a good pocket video cam, but don't want to spend the money for the Mino, take a look at the Flip Ultra. Creative has a knock-off called the Vado on the market that's even less expensive than the Ultra. However, I am sold on Flip Video not only for the quality of the product, but because of the company's social endeavors to make the world a better place. For more information about Flip Video's commitment to social responsibility and non-profits, please visit http://flipvideospotlight.com/

POPSFive Tools to Capture Your Thoughts One of the best productivity tips I've found—courtesy of David Allen's book, Getting Things Done—is keeping "buckets" for your ideas. In other words, you want to have reliable, fail-proof system to record your thoughts whenever or where ever you might find yourself. I've tried a number of different capture tools and methods: from the notepad "suckered" onto my windshield to the mini-digital recorder that took 7 key presses to record a message. Obviously, some worked better than others, so today I've got five simple-to-use capture devices that will make sure you're prepared when your next big idea strikes.
