POPSNorth Carolina Town on Edge After 9 Women Disappear Police will not say whether they suspect a serial killer, but people in the community about 60 miles northeast of Raleigh do, and they're impatient with law enforcement efforts to investigate the slayings. After the latest body — that of 31-year-old Jarneice Hargrove — was found in June behind a burnt-out house that was once a crack den, local law enforcement and state police formed a task force. In July, the FBI got involved. But friends and family say it didn't happen soon enough.

POPSGoon Threatens Democratic Congressperson A right-wing goon has threatened Rep. Brad Miller (D-NC) over health-care reform. As a consequence, the Congressperson has decided to hold no town hall meetings. The goons are succeeding in showing their contempt for democracy. I love the way they are exposing themselves.

POPSPhotos from ObamaCare Protest in Raleigh [Updated]
NOTE: The crowd was large, diverse and very spread out. I think Wake County GOP did us all a disservice by encouraging protesters to go to the intersection of Sutton and Smallwood. There was nothing there, and many of us moved to the corner on St. Mary’s where all the action was. This isn’t about the GOP, the Republican Party hasn’t done us too many favors in recent years. Next time they try to direct Conservatives to a different protest location, I won’t listen. This was and always has been a grassroots effort… and today proved yet again that grassroots patriots are more in touch with our rights and the dangers we are protesting against. Yet Another Update (Why Not?) : This post has taken some heat by a few immature commenters elsewhere online. They specifically question my use of the word “diverse” when referring to our crowd. This sickens me and is yet another example of the racism being spread on the left. Diversity is more than complexion.

POPSMcCaskill's Office Locks Doors, Pulls Blinds, Calls Cops Forces Obamacare Protesters Off Public Property A staff member opened the door for the police and said they were being threatened. The staff member took some notes from a few protesters while the police were there and said she'd pass them on to Senator McCaskill. Glenn Reynolds has updates on Obamacare protests in Raleigh, Dallas and Cleveland. Steve Sabolich sends an email from Cleveland and says that Dennis Kucinich’s staff was shocked so many concerned working Americans took off work to be there. UPDATE: Donna sent this video from the protest at McCaskill's office today. Police to the Rescue -Tea Party anti-Obama Care video http://www.youtube.com/user/Jonah42946 Posted by Gateway Pundit

POPSIt's Alive! It's Alive! I am not sure about the charges, though. "larceny" doesn't really apply, since he didn't take the barrels from their original site, nor does "injury to personal property" apply, since the barrels are not owned by an individual.

POPSAccused Murderer Of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, 20 Extradited Marine Accused of Killing Pregnant Colleague Extradited to United States Laurean and Lauterbach worked together at nearby Camp Lejeune. Mexican authorities captured Laurean just over a year ago in the small town of Tacambaro, Mexico. Defense attorney Dick McNeil said he hasn't been contracted by federal officials and has heard from Laurean's family but not Laurean. McNeil said he expects his client to plead not guilty. Hudson agreed not to seek the death penalty so Mexico would consider returning Laurean.

POPSA Conversation Unfinished “You took your life into your hands every time you went out on the road,” he said. It was, of course, a relief to come upon a black-owned service station. But he said that you could drive from Charleston quite nearly to Baltimore before finding one. He continued to speak out against injustice and never let himself be flattered into the role of the black factotum who would conveniently declare the race problem solved. If anything, the militancy grew fiercer over time. It reached its zenith in “Mirror to America,” which recounts in vivid detail how the decision to segregate the armed forces poisoned American civic culture. He refused to serve during World War II for a country “that had no respect for me little interest in my well-being.” I had hoped to sit down with him one more time to reconstruct that trip back in 1941. I must now do that without him."

POPS Mob Rule ~ A.C.O.R.N More than 200 turned out in Raleigh. 300 in Ridgefield, Connecticut. 1,200 turned out in Lexington, Kentucky. . . . and this from Michelle Malkin: …3,000 in Orlando…no national wire coverage of these thousands of protesters across the country, but AP covers measly anti-war protest turnout in Washington… There are between 300-500 peaceful, grass-roots activists protesting out-of-control government spending in Lexington KY. *Update: Organizer Leland Conway e-mails that final tally on attendance at Lexington is 1,200-1500.* Flags-wavers, bell-ringers, some in colonial military get-up, others wearing American flags as capes: angry Americans gathered 200 to 300 strong at Ridgefield’s Ballard Park Saturday morning to vent their frustration. “Dump Dodd now!” and “We’re not Europe!” and “It’s not your money!” they chanted. Passing drivers honked, waved or gave them the thumbs up sign. http://michellemalkin.com/2009/03/21/liveblogging-the-lexington-ky-tea-party/
