The great orange juice scam
aklimento
by aklimento  12-24-2009
I witnessed not once how kid's behavior changing after drinking "Sunnydale" - yellow punch with unimaginable mixture of poisonous chemicals, disguising orange juice flavor. No any Ritalin will be able to repair all that damage to young body and mind. And in fact even famous Tropicana juice is useless, if not also damaging... And what we can tell now about countless beverages around? My rule: if it is even slightly doubtful - don't consume it. Our healing ability is not endless and even minor damages, accumulating, result in something really threatening. Is it worth to try? That's how all diseases starting...

"Our stories, our jokes, our gossip form an important part of our social identity, psychologists say. The results suggest nonetheless that some of people’s most intricate, richly detailed stories — the most self-distracting to tell — are at high risk for being met with rolled eyes that say, “Been there, heard all that.”

In the spirit of thankfulness and giving, I'd like to remind my fellow Clippers that they can offer hope and rescue to kids in peril. Find a charity that supports children abroad or at home, in a desperate country or in your own neighborhood. Find a cause and support it. It really is true that every single penny helps. It really is true that a single person can make a difference. It really is true that hope is the greatest gift you can give. Give some hope to a child. Thank you.

CIA and the U.S. "War On Drugs" Doublespeak
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  10-29-2009
This is a classic case of "Forked Tongue". The following is from the article. "This is a pattern for the CIA. In an earlier era they were in partnership with a different set of drug dealers in South America. These drug dealers were interested in selling cocaine and the CIA needed money to finance its secret wars against the people of South and Central America. A natural alliance evolved between cocaine cartels and the CIA, since both had identical interests, namely to crush any popular government that considered land reform or nationalization of industries." One of the more prominent drug dealers in that story was Manuel Noriega, Panama’s military strongman. Noriega was on CIA payroll from the 1950’s until the mid-80’s. He was also a coke dealer, an ally of Pablo Escobar of the Medellin Cartel. The CIA needed some extra cash to fund its covert operations against freely elected governments in South America, notably Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega (who was freely elected again in 200

Autumn is Apple Time
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  10-14-2009    3
Early varieties include the classic Red Delicious, which are striped to solid and red, and have a sweet taste; and the Jonagold, a cross between a Jonathan and a Golden Delicious, and are bright red and can be sweet or slightly tart. Later varieties include Rome, Fuji, Granny Smith, and Jonathan. Romes are a deep red and are slightly sweet. Fuji’s range in color from gold to red and often have red striping, and are great for snacking. Granny Smith apples are green, tart apples that are perfect for baking. Jonathans have light red stripes over deep red or yellow and are slightly tart. For a quick and easy simmered fall punch, combine 2 cups apple juice, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, and 2 or 3 cloves. Simmer on the stove for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove cloves before serving. ---------------------------

Afghanistan - NOT a 'good war'
JackieDel
by JackieDel  10-9-2009
"And of course, it is costing the people of Afghanistan more than anyone. Perhaps one of the most jolting things about watching the film is seeing image after terrible image of civilian suffering: desperate families mired in refugee camps, pain-stricken schoolgirls attacked with acid by the resurgent Taliban, countless injured men, women and children who are the "collateral damage" from errant U.S. bomb strikes. It is a punch-to-the-gut reminder of just how sanitized this war -- which Obama has always called the "right front" of the so-called war on terror -- has been".

Who Does Our Government Work For?
sahara
by sahara  10-4-2009    1
The table would not clip, go to source to see it and learn more. Among the 61 recipients of these joint contributions are 11 senators who sit on the 23-member Senate Finance Committee. Four other Democratic senators on the Finance committee also received such contributions: Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.), Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Deborah Stabenow (D-Mich.). - averaging about $19,800 in contributions per person from these clients and their external lobbyists during the two-and-a-half year period studied. On the other side of the aisle, 60 percent(!!) of the Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee were found to have accepted campaign contributions from these major health-related organizations and their outside lobbyists. Republican lawmakers received an average of $67,700 per person from these clients and their external lobbyists Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) received the most in such contributions, with $130,620. Who are they working for?? Not you

And you still believe its not a racket? Doesn't look like feeding the poor and walking in the footsteps of Jesus to me. But keep donating, they all have to take a dump somewhere. It's called fleecing the flock. It's a time honored tradition. Glad you could be on board. Thanks again for your donation. God will pay you back a 1000-fold ... after you're dead.  But buck up, Joe. The GOP, by running candidates like Mark Kirk for US Senate in Illinois and Jon Husted for Secretary of State in Ohio (to name only a couple), continues to demonstrate that it is perfectly capable of selling out sensible conservatism for the illusory and passing feel-good moment. _________________________________________ From Erick at RedState " “A Review of ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis’s Rolodex Suggests Strong White House Ties”: RedState has seen a list of Bertha Lewis’s contacts. We did not seek it out. It just showed up one day unsolicited. We did not ask for it. We did not expect to get it. But now that we have it, we should see who is in there. The President can say “I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money,” but a review of Ms. Lewis’s contacts list suggests that is not the case. What a non-surprise. But having the goods is quite helpful. _________________________________________

Our Missile-Defense Race Against Iran
jatfla
by jatfla  9-21-2009
"Our security depends in large measure on beating Iran to the punch. If the U.S. succeeds in deploying missile defenses capable of intercepting Iranian long-range missiles before they are developed, it will help protect itself, its allies and its troops from the menace posed by a nuclear Iran. But if missile defenses become operational after Iran's long-range missile capability does, both America and its allies will find themselves vulnerable to nuclear blackmail, or worse, from the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism." I know no one wants to read this stuff and have this debate. It comes down to trust. Do you trust Russia? Iran? it's satellite minions? This President? The power of the UN? The EU? I abhor looking to other countries...hoping...that they will protect our overseas military or even our homeland.
