Murder in the Streets; Bloody Ashura in Tehran

by merrie  Yesterday 7:11 PM    1
..... and Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s website announced that the wartime prime minister’s nephew was one of those who had been killed. Seyyed Ali Habibi Mousavi Khamene, Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s nephew was shot by a bullet yesterday near Azadi avenue and passed away after being taken to Ibn-Sina hospital. Mehdi Farhadinia, Mohammad Ali Rasekhinia, Amir Arshadi and Shahram Faraji were the other four dead protesters. Officials prevented the bodies of these martyrs from being delivered to their families. One source close to Mir-Hossein Mousavi told Rooz that despite the presence of Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Ali Habibi Mousavi’s parents at Ibn-Sina hospital, Ali Habibi Musavi Khamene’s body was not given to his family but was instead delivered to the coroner’s office. After news of the death of Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s nephew broke out, a large number of people marched toward the hospital. A Rooz correspondent reported in front of the hospital that from about ten thirty pm .....

**** KATHLEEN SEBELIOUS**** Heard that name before????????????????? That reported plan came after the Obama administration tried first to move the suspected terrorists to Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, and then to a prison in Michigan. On Jan. 28, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, then the governor of Kansas, wrote Secretary of Defense Gates to protest the transport.

Massive Anti-War Protest*** March 10, 2010***
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  12-28-2009    2
Plan to attend or organize your own in solidarity. Individual protests are fine, but when we come together and walk our talk, we force authority to pay attention. If we maintain our focus and momentum, together we can bring OUR government to heel Will there be threats and resistance and backlash from the Military-Industrial Complex Machine? You betcherass there will. So. Be prepared. Make sure your friends and relatives support and watch out for you in case of arrest. People cannot be disappeared when they have support from their community. Are you willing, but don't have the bucks? Get your friends and neighbors to chip in and send you as their representative. Solidarity, remember? Maybe your community can send a group to represent them, as an investment in taking back our voice in the government. It's time, people!

Re: Kelika's Clip-Stealth boat Ady Gil
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  12-27-2009    2
Intriguing clip by Kelika led me to do a little research. More from the article below: "Now the newly-renamed vessel has been unveiled as the Sea Shepherd's new weapon in the organisation's sixth campaign against whaling, Operation Waltzing Mathilda, which will launch from Australia early next month. The craft, which is capable of up to 50 knots, will be used to intercept and physically block harpoon ships from illegally slaughtering whales. The Ady Gil and the Steve Irwin are the two remaining ships in the Sea Shepherd Society’s fleet. A third vessel – the Farley Mowat – was sent to protest against Canadian seal hunting last year and was seized by offiicials."

Protesters Gather for a Second Time Outside Claire McCaskill’s Office 2009 December 23 by DanaLoesch Protesters leave coal for McCaskill. A hundred or so protesters gathered outside of Sen. Claire McCaskill’s University City office during their lunch hours for the second time in two weeks to protest McCaskill’s continual lack of representation. The overwhelming majority of Missouri (and national) voters oppose Harry Reid’s senate fauxcare bill, yet McCaskill is eager to play the part of the rubber stamp and help pass it in the senate " and even complains about having to do so on Christmas. FALSE FLAGS
mountainpalm
by mountainpalm  12-20-2009
What foreign threat did they envisage as the United States’ most deadly enemy? Actually, the founding fathers believed one of our biggest enemies would rise from within: apathetic ignorance. Thomas Jefferson wrote, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” One hundred and forty-five years later, President Eisenhower echoed Jefferson’s fear when he left office in 1961: In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and

20 GOP Senators Call for Investigation of Offutt Threat
merrie
by merrie  12-18-2009    3
Let’s be clear: the people spreading these falsehoods think nothing is wrong with a system under which families and businesses continue to bear the brunt of skyrocketing costs, insurance companies are allowed to discriminate and drop at will, and thousands of Americans lose their coverage every single day.” They protest a little too much. I do not know this story is "absolutely false." To the contrary, I'm confident it's true. Twenty senators are now calling for an investigation, and each is presumably pretty well sourced in the Senate. If the charges are "absolutely false," maybe the White House will encourage Senate Democrats to call this Republican bluff. I won't hold my breath. What is absolutely true is that the threat itself is clumsy. The Base Realignment and Closure Process won't get started again for a couple of years, and Offutt is a nearly irreplaceable piece of America's national security infrastructure.

The Boston Tea Party December 16, 1773
merrie
by merrie  12-16-2009    5
The British tea dumped in Boston Harbor on the night of December 16 was valued at some $18,000. Parliament, outraged by the blatant destruction of British property, enacted the Coercive Acts, also known as the Intolerable Acts, in 1774. The Coercive Acts closed Boston to merchant shipping, established formal British military rule in Massachusetts, made British officials immune to criminal prosecution in America, and required colonists to quarter British troops. The colonists subsequently called the first Continental Congress to consider a united American resistance to the British. Code Red In Washington D.C. Today; “This bill must be stopped!”
merrie
by merrie  12-15-2009    4
Also: The Dems now expect the CBO scoring of the Reid plan that no one has seen to look good once the Medicare expansion is thrown under the bus. And: After all the sound and fury, Joe Lieberman is now reportedly on board with Demcare. Update: Heeeeere come’s MoveOn! Steamed at the Democrat majority over negotiating with Joe Lieberman, the nutroots will hold their own “emergency rally” today at 1pm Eastern today to lobby for nationalized health care. Wonder if unhinged Jane Hamsher will show up to burn Sen. Lieberman’s wife in effigy. Update 11:49am Eastern: Lieberman talking to press right now. Says Demcare plan is now “heading in the right direction.” GOP Sen. Susan Collins is standing by him, smiling, through his remarks. Ok, Susan Collins speaks. She can’t see voting for the bill in its current form. “It’s still too deeply flawed for me to support it.” She says she won’t support it even with amendments intended to improve the bill (that no one has seen, of course).
