Criminal Antitrust Fines Skyrocket
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  Yesterday 10:21 PM
This is one of the GOOD things that Congress has acted upon. The only problem comes in when one asks oneself what they plan to do with the money (aside from their COLA raise). More from the article below: "The penalties aren’t just monetary. Prison sentences also remained lengthy, although the average sentence of 24 months in 2009 was slightly below the last two years. Burns also noted that there is a “clear trend to prosecute and send to jail foreign nationals” in the United States."

Blame The Teachers Again.
bookwormy
by bookwormy  Yesterday 2:24 PM
When is somebody going to wake up and discover that it isn't teachers fault when students have parents (or parent) who don't really care how their son or daughter is doing in school. A teacher I know was shocked when one of her 3rd graders told her t"My daddies in prison" And I don't know about the rest of the country but here in So. Ca. students got 3 WEEKS OFF for winter (not Christmas. Politically incorrect) break. By the time they go back to school some of them will have forgotten where their classroom is. It's time to hold parents responsible and not just teachers.

What a job, 45 minutes of bullying nets $900
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  Yesterday 11:29 AM
Debt Collectors are sub-human, they have no empathy and they will resort to the nastiest strong-arm tactics to get blood from a stone. When people fall into financial peril through no fault of their own... A loss of a job, an illness, or just a plain hitting the wall after using credit to pay for basic needs... These vultures are waiting for the last financially healthy breath of their prey. They don't even care if they've cornered the right person... They’re geared to strike at anyone... They are bullies and have bullied most of their lives; they enjoy it, it's a rush, a high. But for the naive it's unnerving and humiliating. They’ve been conditioned to believe that if they play by the rules... THE RULES will protect them. There was a time when this was true but since the “Party of No” have ruled, all of us have become $$ signs and nothing else. Check out this video, know your rights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gVbDk_HcnU It could happen to you, best be prepared.

They will have no inherent rights, no human rights, no legal standing whatsoever -- save whatever modicum of process the government arbitrarily deigns to grant them from time to time, with its ever-shifting tribunals and show trials. Obviously, giving government the power to render whole classes of people "unpersons" was not an interesting subject for our media arbiters. It was news that wasn't fit to print. Channeling their predecessors in the George W. Bush administration, Obama Justice Department lawyers argued in this case that there is no constitutional right not to be tortured or otherwise abused in a U.S. prison abroad.

The Lonely, Murderous Sons of Allah: A Psycho-analytic View
Antara
by Antara  1-1-2010    1
"Thus, the attention a son may receive from his mother (if she is not sent away, as Bin Laden’s mother was) does not make up for the missing and longed-for father. I have often thought that the way many Arab Muslim brothers brutally order their sisters around not only reflects how their fathers treat everyone, but is also a measure of their frustration about not being able to bond with their absent, lordly fathers. Thus, for a number of reasons, prison-style sexuality as well as homosexuality and homosexual pederasty is as rampant as it is forbidden in Arab and Muslim culture. Arab and Muslim sons desperately want their fathers. But their fathers are busy marrying other, younger wives, having other, newer children, and founding financial empires. They want their fathers to redeem them from the shameful fate of living in a world of mainly women–which they do when they are very young; and of course, they want their fathers for reasons of identity and inheritance. Alleged Underwear Bomber: 'it was a mix-up in the laundry'
foxyarse
by foxyarse  12-31-2009    1
Abdulmutallab comes from a prosperous Nigerian banking family, who live on $12 a day, four times the national average. Family members are used to having maids and other servants do the laundry in exchange for roots and berries. 'My underwear goes out, my underwear comes back', Abdulmutallab said. 'My cousin, his nephew, and his other brother and other nephew were all staying at the house. One of them was probably going to blow up a public urinal or a pay phone or something, and I got the explosive underwear by accident.' While investigations continue, Abdulmutallab is complaining about his nick-names. 'Some are calling me 'the Underbomber', 'Suicide Fart', or 'Lightning Pants', he said. 'Some even call me 'Fizzle Dick'. These prison names are awful. But at least the inmates keep away from me in the showers. I even dropped my bar of soap several times without incident.'

Murder in the Streets; Bloody Ashura in Tehran

..... and Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s website announced that the wartime prime minister’s nephew was one of those who had been killed. Seyyed Ali Habibi Mousavi Khamene, Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s nephew was shot by a bullet yesterday near Azadi avenue and passed away after being taken to Ibn-Sina hospital. Mehdi Farhadinia, Mohammad Ali Rasekhinia, Amir Arshadi and Shahram Faraji were the other four dead protesters. Officials prevented the bodies of these martyrs from being delivered to their families. One source close to Mir-Hossein Mousavi told Rooz that despite the presence of Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Ali Habibi Mousavi’s parents at Ibn-Sina hospital, Ali Habibi Musavi Khamene’s body was not given to his family but was instead delivered to the coroner’s office. After news of the death of Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s nephew broke out, a large number of people marched toward the hospital. A Rooz correspondent reported in front of the hospital that from about ten thirty pm .....

Two Of The Four Plotters Behind The Flight 253 Attack Were Released From Gitmo In 2007

both the Bush administration and the Obama administration. We can argue about the political pressures Bush was under, but the simple truth of the matter is that we should have created a process for dealing with these detainees long ago. The Military Commissions Act was this solution, establishing military commissions to establish the guilt or innocence of these detainees, but it came far too late in Bush’s administration to do any good (and was absurdly deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in yet another decision ignoring the constitution completely). And now our policy toward Guantanamo Bay is a mish-mash of conflicted and largely politically-motivated pap geared more, I think, toward pandering and backside-covering than any national security strategy. Some of the detainees are getting trials in civilian US courts. Some are being shipped off to Pacific islands for continued detention.

That reported plan came after the Obama administration tried first to move the suspected terrorists to Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, and then to a prison in Michigan. On Jan. 28, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, then the governor of Kansas, wrote Secretary of Defense Gates to protest the transport.

Christmas bomb bid complicates Gitmo plan
billpar
by billpar  12-28-2009
Christmas Day bombing attempt aboard Northwest Flight 253, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, reportedly spent time in Yemen after graduating from a London university in 2008. According to ABC News, Abdulmutallab has told authorities that, while in Yemen, Al Qaeda operatives crafted the explosive device that was sewn into Abdulmutallab’s underwear. “Yesterday just highlights the fact that sending this many people back — or any people back — to Yemen right now is a really bad idea,” said Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee. “It’s just dumb. ... If you made a list of what the three dumbest countries would be to send people back to, Yemen would be on all the lists.” “I think it’s a major mistake,” Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said about prisoner releases to Yemen.

Heterocide: Teen Girl Killed by Lesbian Friend
blueridge
by blueridge  12-24-2009    5
Motive: Her romantic advances were rejected. There is no "hate crime" law for this, and depicts a similar scenario to one proposed in a Clipmark here , in its horrific reality. She will get life, while the "friend" she hated, got death. "Crimes of passion" are born of those who are not gratified in trying to obtain their selfish pleasures (like the men of Sodom who were storming Mayor Lot's House to "make sport" w/ two visitors, to take them by force). Passion is not "love", it is self-love, for personal gratification, and holds the targeted "romance" object as personal property, which they claim possession of mentally (giving birth to unjust jealousy) , and therefore usurp to themselves a claim to use force to obtain or revenge. Sometimes in crime, other times something less. Note too the murderer was portrayed as a victim for "coming out as a lesbian". Astonishing.
