POPSNewsweek Reporter Faces Iran Trial: Lawyer "Any kind of interview and confession by these people who are being held in prison is invalid under the law and the Iranian constitution," Nikbakht added. Less than a week ago, the Fars news agency reported an "interview" with Bahari, in which he said that he had filed "unreal and biased reports from Iran which were driven by greed." On Wednesday Newsweek repeated a call on Iran to release its correspondent immediately and rejected charges made against him. The US news weekly said that Bahari has been detained in Iran since June 21 without access to a lawyer. It quoted an Iranian state news agency as saying that Bahari "has said he participated in a Western media effort to promote irresponsible reporting in Iran." Scores of journalists and reformist politicians were arrested following President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disputed re-election, which triggered mass protests in Iran and charges of voter fraud.

POPSA Declaration of Independence from Big Government
At every turn, the British Crown had concentrated political power and decision-making in its own hands, leaving the American colonists with little ability to manage their own affairs through local and state governments. Laws and rules were imposed without the consent of the governed; local laws and procedures meant to limit abusive or arbitrary government were abrogated or ignored. The king also had attempted to manipulate the legal system by arbitrarily appointing judges that shared his power-lusting purposes or were open to being influenced to serve the monarch’s policy goals. The king’s officials unjustly placed colonists under arrest in violation of writ of habeas corpus, and sentenced them to prison without trial by jury. Colonists often were violently conscripted to serve in the king’s armed forces and made to fight in foreign wars. But what was at the heart of many of their complaints and grievances against King George III were the economic controls that limited . . .

POPSAlthough Ignored By the Media-- Palin's Accomplishments Were Extensive
We also slowed the rate of government growth, we worked with the Legislature to save billions of dollars for the future, and I made no lobbyist friends with my hundreds of millions of dollars in budget vetoes... but living beyond our means today is irresponsible for tomorrow. We took government out of the dairy business and put it back into private-sector hands - where it should be. We provided unprecedented support for education initiatives, and with the right leadership, finally filled long-vacant public safety positions. We built a sub-Cabinet on Climate Change and took heat from Outside special interests for our biologically-sound wildlife management for abundance. We broke ground on the new prison. And we made common sense conservative choices to eliminate personal luxuries like the jet, the chef, the junkets... the entourage. And the Lt. Governor and I said "no" to our pay raises. So much success in this first term - and with this success I am proud to take credit...

POPSPlease Sign "Where Is My Vote?" Petition
via http://twitter.com/Iran_Translator:: As we all know our Supreme Leader or so called Father of the Country, A. Khameneh-e, who is supposed to be behind his people and protecting us as well as nurturing us all, has been doing the exact opposite for more than 20 years since the beginning of his leadership position. You should hear and see what is going on in our mass-media locally these days. It is shameful to see that some of our local channels are showing some entertainment programs and our news channel is misusing our people's voices against them and against what is the truth. Our Dictatorial government has done nothing for the country or for the benefit of the people who need more than just money, candy and pistachio. The government with hands of Ahmadi-nejad has been feeding lowest class in Iran, who can't even read and write, and brainwashing them so they will be tricked into believing that Ahmadi-nejad and Khameneh-e stand for peace and Democracy in the country;

POPSSuspected serial killer leads police to bodies, won't be charged FBI let him out to do work for them. The murders were committed while he was working for the FBI. If he isn't convicted, then the FBI will not have to take responsibility "officially" or explain how he was able to kill people while under their watch... Good for a TV Movie probably...Heck, there is probably a book about this sort of thing...

POPSCongressmen profited from inside information in the collapse? Amen to the last statement of the clip. I'm sick of all of them. Only within the last few years have I begun to realize how corrupted Washington (and everyone, I guess) truly is. I'll admit to being naive because I was raised to be honest...or suffer the consequences. If other high-profile names can be prosecuted and sent to prison...why not these?? And I don't care about their Party affiliation.
