Woman In Red Miniskirt Knocks Down Pope Benedict XVI
foxyarse
by foxyarse  12-29-2009    2
Saltarello has a history of mostly assaulting soccer players while they are showering in the dressing room. Saltarello was recently released from jail after serving seven months for fondling one of the players on Italy's National Soccer Team. The player requested that his name not be used. We will only say that his name rhymes with Xalberto Xpignola number X16. A woman who was standing just about three feet from where the Pope fell to the basilica floor said she clearly heard the Pope yell in broken Latin, "Ipso veni vidi vici ad hoc facto boof" which roughly translated means, "Hey what the hell is wrong with that dumb stupid bitch." Another parishioner who gave her name as Sophia Drezzalini-Collingsworth said that she saw three of the Pope's security guards fire at least 29 shots into the unidentified woman. The Pope was helped to his feet, while the woman was dragged by her ankles to a waiting garbage truck.

Cryptic signatures that ‘prove Shakespeare was a secret Catholic’
foxyarse
by foxyarse  12-22-2009
A third entry in 1587, “Shfordus Cestriensis”, may stand for “Sh ford of Chester”, he said. The entries fall within the playwright’s “missing years” between 1585, when he left Stratford abruptly, and 1592, when he began his career as playwright in London. “There are several years which are unaccounted for in Shakespeare’s life,” Father Headon said, adding that it was very likely that the playwright had visited Rome and was a covert Catholic.

Bishops seek cover-up forgiveness - Bollocks!
foxyarse
by foxyarse  12-9-2009
The Murphy report detailed allegations against a sample 46 priests who served in Dublin between 1975 to 2004 and found several bishops, including Bishop of Limerick Donal Murray who acted inexcusably in one case, mishandled complaints against priests. He is expected to tender his resignation to Pope Benedict in the next few days. Cardinal Sean Brady and Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin will meet the Pontiff in Rome on Friday.

Back To The Dark Ages, You Dog!

Hold on to your proverbial HATS, Enlightenment is over. According to one Catholic Bishop, it's over or never began. How can a priest ban a parishioner, who helps pay his salary, from a spiritual right within his religion? If I were Patrick, I would turn to an enlightened source of organized spirituality or just use the brain he was born with before it was tarnished with incongruous notions thought up by a pack of authoritarian male homo-sapiens. Religion is what is screwing up the world, in all its eerie, ghostly and spooky forms; it seems to rail against rational thought. This is how they rule. This is how they coerce wars and this is how they enslave the masses. As one escapee from the clutches of irrational thought perpetuated by an organized religion, I can tell you it is far better to be acquainted with logic and reason in this, OH SO MANY QUESTIONS UNANSWERED universe of ours. The freedom to inquiry ones existence, without fear of punishment, is the only way to fly!

Vanished Persian army said found in desert
xpersianx
by xpersianx  11-10-2009
According to Herodotus (484-425 B.C.), Cambyses, the son of Cyrus the Great, sent 50,000 soldiers from Thebes to attack the Oasis of Siwa and destroy the oracle at the Temple of Amun after the priests there refused to legitimize his claim to Egypt. After walking for seven days in the desert, the army got to an "oasis," which historians believe was El-Kharga. After they left, they were never seen again. "A wind arose from the south, strong and deadly, bringing with it vast columns of whirling sand, whi

La Paz celebrates Day of the Skulls
sahara
by sahara  11-9-2009
Earlier this month the Church called on the faithful to stop using human skulls at special mass celebrations. The Archbishop of La Paz, Edmundo Abastoflor, urged followers of the Andean rite to "let them rest in peace". Some inside the Church even link the practice to the occult. However, some priests believe they have no other choice than to let people pray Catholic prayers to their skulls, and even allow them to go to church with them. "I receive them and not as enemies of the Catholic faith," the cemetery's Roman Catholic priest, Father Jaime Fernandez, told the BBC after giving an informal blessing to thousands of skull-carrying devotees at the cemetery's chapel. "Officially the Catholic Church does not recognise such a thing," Father Fernandez adds. But, let's be honest, in the end, who am I to stop their uncontrollable faith?"

The Celtic Zodiac: The Origin of Halloween
risatalogo
by risatalogo  11-2-2009
Notes from the artist: The Ancient Origins of Halloween In today's world it is often difficult for us to imagine that there were ancient civilizations that came long before us, who were more aware and in tune with nature, astronomy and astrology than we are today with all of our advanced knowledge and technology. Approximately one thousand years B.C., a religious order of Celtic priests known as the Druids lived in the British Isles. They used a lunar calendar that consisted of 13 months, with each month having within it 28 days, plus an additional day which was added to the calendar as in a leap year, to correspond to the solar/lunar year. This 13 month calendar was used by the Druids to calculate their year and important festivals. The Druidic religion focused on the natural and supernatural energies of the universe which they identified with the spirits of their sacred trees. These sacred trees formed the basis of the Druid astrological zodiac.

A Mother, a Sick Son and His Father, the Priest
ratilfar
by ratilfar  10-16-2009
With little to lose, they are eager to tell their stories: the mother, a once-faithful Catholic who says the church protected a philandering priest and treated her as a legal adversary, and the son, about what it was like to grow up knowing his absentee father was a priest. “I’ve always called him Father Henry — never Father, never Dad,” said Nathan, at home between hospital visits. “I always felt he picked religion over me.” The relationship between Ms. Bond and the priest is hardly unique. While the recent scandals involving the Roman Catholic Church have focused on the sexual abuse of children, experts say that incidences of priests who have violated sexual and emotional boundaries with adult women are far more common.

Right Christians vs. Wrong Christians
thisnamecantbetaken

Friends, I can't even go on here. Look at my face, see how flushed I am? You get me going on about the Catholics and I'm likely to have a heart attack. I just thank God that everything our youngsters know about the Catholic Church is what they've been hearing on TV. Most of our Truly Saved® Christian children are so terrified of priests that they can't even sleep at night. Let's open our hymnals to page 217 - Just As I Am, singing from the second stanza. . . "Just as I am. . ." Truly Saved® Christians The content of the clip was written by a pastor! *Real* Christians of course have a registered trademark and a $750 million budget. If anyone can spot the teachings of Christ anywhere in this "sermon", would you please point them out to me? I seem to be temporarily blinded by the hypocrisy of it all. But let's open up youtube and have a little sing-a-long, shall we? Praise the Lord. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugZq9hiuCJo

The Object at Hand: His Majesty King Mongkut of Siam
merrie
by merrie  9-27-2009    2
It was there that royal emissaries found him one steamy April morning in 1851, when they brought the news that his half brother, King Rama III, was dead. Within days, the 47-year-old monk stepped from monastic life into the rich temptations and intricacies of the palace, with its inner city thronging with hundreds of women, its precincts patrolled by female guards and its life revolving entirely around his royal person. The holy man was now officially the "Lord of Life," the fourth ruler in Siam's Chakri dynasty, able to exert life-or-death control over some 5.5 million subjects. (As king, he banned the death penalty for monks who broke their vows of celibacy, putting them to work, instead, cutting grass for the royal elephants.) A spectacular coronation inaugurated the reign with great pomp. Brahmin priests sounded ceremonial conch shells. The new monarch, clad in golden robes, was carried off in a gilded palanquin. Even in that moment of glory, though,
