Note this phrase from the title: “US Terrorist Army Base.” Major Hasan is a psychiatrist, so he should know that projection–literally, “throwing off on the other person”–is one of the most common defenses that people employ when they think, or especially do, things of which they should, at the very least, be ashamed. But the most damning piece of evidence was Hasan’s infamous “Grand Rounds” that he delivered back in 2007 while at Walter Reed Hospital, titled “The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military.” In that presentation, which any reader can view in its entirety at the above link, Hasan repeatedly cited and often quoted surah and ayah (i.e., chapter and verse) from the Koran to justify some very forthright, even brazen commentary on the relationships

POPSCBS and NBC Skip Hasan's Ominous 'We Love Death More Than You Love Life' Brian Ross reported: The Washington Post reported today that Hasan presented this PowerPoint presentation at Walter Reed hospital in 2007, saying: “It's getting harder and harder for Muslims in the service to morally justify being in a military that seems constantly engaged against fellow Muslims.” Under comments, he wrote: “We love death more than you love life.” And his conclusion was that Muslim soldiers be given the option of being released from the military, as conscientious objectors, to decrease what he called “adverse events.” Bob Orr, on the CBS Evening News: There were reasons to worry. Hasan received poor performance reviews at Walter Reed, frequently criticized the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and in June, 2007, Hasan gave a shocking presentation to colleagues. Using slides, Hasan argued forcing Muslim soldiers to fight wars in Muslim countries puts them “at risk to hurting/killing believers unjustly” and he ominously warned of “adverse events." .....

"He said it was Ramadan and that he had to forgive people," Rosenthal said. "He forgave him and moved on." Hasan appeared less forgiving to Dr. Val Finnell when they were classmates in a 2007-08 master's public health program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. He said that at a class presentation by public health students, at which topics like dry cleaning chemicals and house mold were discussed, Hasan talked about U.S. military actions as a war on Islam. Hasan made clear he was a "vociferous opponent" of U.S. wars in Muslim countries, Finnell said. "He made himself a lightning rod for things," Finnell said. "No one picked on him because he was a Muslim." Law enforcement officials said they are trying to confirm if Hasan wrote Internet postings that include his name about suicide....

Nidal Malik Hasan came in for coffee and hashbrowns most mornings, including the morning he allegedly shot dozens of soldiers. Surveillance video from the store obtained by CNN shows a man who, according to the store owner, is Hasan at the cashier's counter at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday (7:20 a.m. ET) -- about seven hours before the mass shooting -- carrying a beverage and dressed in traditional Arab garb. While the vulnerability is in an IE component, there is an attack vector for Firefox users as well. The reason is that .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installs a “Windows Presentation Foundation” plug-in in Firefox. Now, Microsoft’s security folks are actually recommending that Firefox users uninstall the buggy add-on: For Firefox users with .NET Framework 3.5 installed, you may use “Tools”-> “Add-ons” -> “Plugins”, select “Windows Presentation Foundation”, and click “Disable" This introduction of vulnerabilities in a competing browser is a colossal embarrassment for Microsoft. To lure visitors back, U.S. Travel has been pushing the Travel Promotion Act, which recently was passed in the Senate and is awaiting action in the House, to create a campaign to strengthen the image of the United States abroad.
