POPSIdentity Politics — It's What's for Dinner In Denver For a campaign that promised post-racial politicking, its candidate and surrogates haven't been above race-baiting at the drop of a hat. This goes hand in hand with Obama's repeated baseless smears of John McCain as a racist. Emil Jones just followed Obama's lead, as Obama has followed his. Post racial = everybody is a racist, so the word no longer has any meaning?

POPSThe arrests begin at DNC So, not giving their names is considered a minor infraction and yet they were arrested for it. Denver Joint Information Center would not give out information, shouldn't they be arrested under the same rule?

POPSWil S**t Hapen? This smacks of petty paranoia. Comments at the source offered some creative solutions: "waterguns full of bleach or urine, just like releasing poisonous snakes, just like the balloons filled with hydrochloric acid... this is just police fantasy. There is a big difference between being prepared for a situation and preparing for a fictional tactic that you came up with yourself" "Carry empty buckets and fill them on-site. Ex-Lax helps. " I can see it now: "Is that a bucket of feces?" "No, officer. It's a firkin of feces." "Oh. Okay, then."

POPSFlood victims say FEMA is doing a heckuva job Since FEMA received mega-press for it's perceived failures during the Hurricane, it seemed fair to post a clip that gives the organization some praise for doing a good job. However, I believe the magnitude and circumstances are entirely different. I am still amazed by a government/Country who will so willingly hand out millions of dollars to its citizens who have lost homes and property in these *natural* disasters.

POPSChinese 'Sexy Photo Gate" Battle
With a headline like: "Lurid images tell a tawdry tale," it's hard to skip over. & the idea that the posting of 'lurid photos,' of Chinese celebrities has become a Battle for Internet Freedom is also intriguing. also here a twist on a famous saying of nChinese Revolution leader, Chairman Mao...who, while being a bit of a thug leader said something good about the idea of freedom, saying 'let a thousand flowers grow,' and now... Now the Chinese Netizens have posted: "When one IP address is shut down, a hundred thousand spring up/When one identity is shut down, a hundred thousand spring up. Also !? Can it really be true that a Chinese bishop in Hong Kong quoted the "Speak no evil, see no evil and hear no evil proverb, claiming it was part of The Bible? So,...Sexy Photos? Netizens? Chairman Mao? Bishops fabricating Bible quotes? It doesn't get much better than this. IMO & "And if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you're not going to make it with anyone

POPSThe Economics Of Prostitution Edlund and Korn admit that spouses and streetwalkers aren't exactly alike. Wives, in truth, are superior to whores in the economist's sense of being a good whose consumption increases as income rises--like fine wine. This may explain why prostitution is less common in wealthier countries. But the implication remains that wives and whores are--if not exactly like Coke and Pepsi--something akin to champagne and beer. The same sort of thing. As with Becker, a key differentiator in Edlund and Korn's model is reproductive sex. Wives can offer it, whores can not. Why do hookers make so much money? According to data assembled- "Combine this with the fact that marriage can be an important source of income for women, and it follows that prostitution must pay better than other jobs to compensate for the opportunity cost of forgone-marriage market earnings,

POPSSuper Bowl product launches The Super Bowl has been regarded as an occasion to introduce innovative products ever since the 1984 Macintosh launch. Surprisingly, despite Super Bowl XLII’s record-breaking ratings this year, only four companies used the opportunity as a stage for major product launches, including the Audi R8, Pepsi Gatorade G2, Hyundai Genesis and the Taco Bell Fiesta Platter.

POPSWhy Americans Should Never Be Allowed To Travel A woman called to make reservations, "I want to go from Chicago to Hippopotamus, New York" The agent was at a loss for words. Finally, the agent: "Are you sure that's the name of the town?" "Yes, what flights do you have?" replied the customer. After some searching, the agent came back with, "I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Hippopotamus anywhere." The customer retorted, "Oh don't be silly. Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!" The agent scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, "You don't mean Buffalo, do you?" "That's it! I knew it was a big animal!"

POPSHow Super! This year, I am presenting a challenge to the various companies that pay megabucks for their 30 seconds of notoriety which by the next year, month, or even day will be all but forgotten by even those who did not leave the room to fetch another Millers from the fridge. Give the money to a more worthy cause! I don't care which one, take your pick, homelessness, cancer research, aids research, toys for tots, food banks, any of these would be a better cause than trying to gain the 30 second attention span of your average inebriated superbowl viewer. Make a PR blitz of it if you must, release the philanthropic act to all news and press related sources you wish, and you probably will gain more attention, and loyal customers than that 30 second blip on that one day of the year! This is my challenge to you, Pepsi, Coke, McDonalds, Ing, Chevy, Ford, and all of the others, you too, Nike, just do it!

POPSWhen English and Spanish Collide Scoop. *LOL* I love it when people talk funny. It's so endearing. I don't speak Spanish myself, though I would love to. All I can say is the Spanish word for beer, which is cerveza. That's all you really need to know. :)

POPSCoke man punched out by Pepsi delivery man It was classified as common assault even though the Coke man's nose got broken. Coke don't want to talk about it, and there have been no charges laid. Seems if you're a Pepsi man, you can break someone's nose, in front of many witnesses, and only be described as a known suspect. A man who pushed a clerk while stealing a donut was charged with a felony, and given $ 100,000 bail. perfect sense.
