POPSHoly Hype Now he just needs to enter the convention hall riding a donkey... "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time" And I thought the dems were for separation of religion and state...

POPSPelosi confronted at book signing Madam Speaker was so flustered by our efforts that she barely made a cogent remark for her whole "Know Your Power" talk. Our peaceful action had impact. The truth is a powerful tool. But if only our actions weren't necessary. If only, as Jodie Evans suggested, Madam Speaker would do her job! Saddest of all is the contrast of who Pelosi once was to who she his now. For a woman who was once at the cutting edge of social progressivism, Nancy Pelosi has lost her way. She has strayed from her former social consciousness into the malaise of power. A sorry state for a woman who 32 years ago was a pivotal player in the 1976 Presidential campaign of radically progressive California Governor, Jerry Brown.

POPSChange We Can Believe In At last it came time to bake the bread. 'Who will help me bake the bread?', asked the little red hen. 'That would be overtime for me' said the cow. 'I'd lose my welfare benefits,' said the duck. 'I'm a dropout and never learned how,' said the pig. 'If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination, ' said the goose. 'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen. She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, 'No, I shall eat all five loaves.' 'Excess profits!' cried the cow. (Nancy Pelosi) 'Capitalist leech!' screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer) 'I demand equal rights!' yelled the goose. (Jesse Jackson) The pig just grunted in disdain. (Ted Kennedy)

POPSEd Tinsley Beats Rep. Bachman for Worst Person This is what came in second for Keith. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) told the website OneNewsNow: " is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she's just trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet -- we didn't need Nancy Pelosi to do that. Third place is reserved for a police chief that wants to turn Manhattan into a gated prison for stockbrokers. I wonder what Snake Pliskin would have to say about that?

POPSImpeachment Hearings: A Win Is a Win
I go for the second interpretation of events. It is clear, as was beautifully laid out in an article published by Glenn Greenwald in Salon magazine on July 15, that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the rest of the Democratic Party leadership both in Congress and in the party organization, have been blocking any action on impeachment for fear of having their own complicity in Bush’s and Cheney’s crimes revealed. As Greenwald notes, the Washington Post has reported that Pelosi, along with Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) were briefed on the administration’s use of torture and not only didn’t object, but actively encouraged it. Rockefeller and Harman, who at the time were minority leaders of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees at the time, were also briefed about Bush’s order to the National Security Agency to conduct warrantless spying on Americans. They didn’t object or publicly expose this blatant violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance A

POPSAbout That Pelosi, Pickens Plan To Pick Our Pocket
but the then necessary development of the infrastructure and conversion to such energy will take even longer. We are not going to abandon gas and oil any time soon, no matter what the loudest advocates of renewable energy sources insist. As a writer noted at Fosters.com, a sane energy policy will require tuning in to a program of multiple sources. Fossil fuels -- developed and yet to be developed -- wind power nearing a scope envisioned by T. Boone Pickens, solar power, nuclear power, biomass, geothermal power and sources we haven't thought of yet are in our future - as in waaay in our future. Pickens' plan is bold — too bad it won't work The Pickens Plan isn't the boon for energy independence that it purports to be. Dallas billionaire investor and oilman-turned-wind-farmer Boone Pickens unveiled an audacious plan that he hopes will prod policymakers into a more realistic discussion of energy issues. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5882292.html

POPSFREE email: Drill Now -- Stop the Gang of 10 The compromise plan offered by the Gang of 10 limits drilling to 50 miles off the coast of a few states, not all, and depends on an opt-in by those states. There is no mention of ANWR or of developing America's oil shale. Doing nothing is actually a better option than the compromise of the Senate's Gang of 10 because the oil drilling ban imposed by Congress expires on September 30. Democrats in Congress must renew this ban in order to continue to block America's access to her own oil. Due to Senate rules the minority may be able to block that renewal unless the Gang of 10 prevents it. Sen. McCain has not yet agreed to this compromise. Tell the Senate, the Gang of 10 and especially John McCain that voters don't want compromise with Democrats. Voters want to Drill NOW!

POPSDemocrats Plan To Reduce Gas Prices: Buy OPEC Oil? "Releasing oil from the Reserve is a tool to manage our national and economic security, and when judiciously used will in no way jeopardize national security," the California Democrat wrote. Thus, Democrats favor exploration of the SPR, which is supposed to be used only for catastrophic shortages, but believe that drilling for oil in the U.S. is "a hoax". Can someone explain to me why Democrats only hate oil that's made in America? Update: "Obama releases Exxon ad and hopes no one notices it's a lie"... You just can't make this stuff up... Despite his new TV ad, Barack Obama has received more money from Exxon and Mobil employees than Senator John McCain. Update II: "Tire-Gauge Industry Pumps Up Obama Campaign Coffers."

POPSUncle!!! Pelosi gives lip service to drilling. The democrats will be trying to dance around this one with all the voters watching.

POPSWhoring for Her Big Wind Investments Naturally, the Pickens Big Wind plan is proudly endorsed by Do-Nothing Pelosi’s friends at the obstructionist Sierra Club. Through another company, Mesa Power, Pickens has committed upwards of $12 billion in wind farms on the Texas panhandle. CEFC and Mesa Power are separate entities. But what benefits one piece of the Pickens puzzle benefits them all. The wind venture, as Pickens himself acknowledges, depends on permanent federal subsidies. Speaker Pelosi bought between $50,000 and $100,000 of stock in Pickens’ CLNE Corp. in May 2007 on the day of the initial public offering: “She, and other investors, stand to gain a substantial return on their investment if gasoline prices stay high and municipal, state and even the Federal governments start using natural gas as their primary fuel source. If gasoline prices fall? Alternative fuels and the cost to convert fleets over to them becomes less and less attractive.”

POPSSheehan on the Ballot Against Pelosi If Pelosi doesn't lose this one -- and I don't think she will -- it may damage her rep enough to get the gavel away from her. For me, that'd be good enough -- as a Speaker of the House, Pelosi is blowful.

POPSBoehner: 'They're 'gonna hang' Pelosi Oh for goodness sakes! After all those hateful words that woman has thrown around and the fact that she did, indeed, refuse to allow an up/down vote....someone is going to try and make a case out of this??!!! Politics and politicians are crazy.

POPSPelosi Is Losing! Join House Republicans and Sign the Letter An Open Letter to Speaker Pelosi We think it is unconscionable that Congress has gone on vacation before we have addressed the high gas prices that are crippling our economy and hurting millions of families. We are asking that you reconvene the House from your five-week vacation and schedule a vote on legislation to increase American energy production. Let us be clear, we are not asking for a guaranteed outcome, just the chance to vote. http://www.nrcc.org/actioncenter/default.asp?ID=317#sign

POPSPelosi Invests In Energy Scheme and Water Grab By T. Boone Pickens Ken Kramer, director of the Texas Sierra Club said, “Water is a resource, yet in some respects it is a commodity. It’s as essential to human life as air. That puts water in a different class.” Pelosi #dontgo Bombshell: MONEY Money. It would appear that the driving force behind Madam Speaker’s quick and forceful adjournment of Congress is money. According to Michigan Taxes Too Much blog, Madam Speaker has a substantial amount of money invested in Clean Energy Fuels Corporation. Clean Energy Fuels Corporation is a business venture started by none other than T. Boone Pickens. Clean Energy Fuels Corp, stands to gain substantially from the higher prices of gasoline and are even flaunting it on their website. http://dontgomovement.com/2008/08/11/pelosi-dontgo-bombshell-money/

POPSObama Is A Phony And A Socialist!
his adviser Professor Cornell West, who calls himself a "progressive socialist" and is a close associate and admirer of tyrant Hugo Chavez; his "moral compass" and campaign adviser, Father Michael "hate whitey" Pfleger; adviser Robert Malley who resigned after it was reporting he was meeting with the terrorist group Hamas; and fundraiser Jodie Evans, another admirer of Chavez, who asked, "Why is being a communist anti-American?" Sen. Obama was greatly influenced by radical community organizer, Saul Alinsky, for whom "change" met radical socialism and the redistribution of wealth, and who preached the end justifies the means and ethics shouldn't get in the way of effective community organization. Obama early on went for Marxist professors when in college and even before that one of his mentors was a communist poet and journalist, Frank Marshall Davis. Remember if Obama gets the White House he will have a rubber-stamping Congress headed by Sen. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. With a veto

POPSStatement In Defense Of Barack Obama
Barack Obama Called Offshore Drilling A "Scheme." Obama: "Now the latest scheme is well, we're going to drill offshore. Now, I want to be absolutely clear to everybody about this. If I thought that I could provide you some immediate relief on gas prices by drilling off the shores of California and New Jersey, I understand how desperate folks are. I met a guy who couldn't go on a job search that lost his job, couldn't go on a job search because of the high price of gas. Just couldn't fill up his tank. I met a teacher in South Dakota who loved her job as a teacher on an Indian reservation, she had to quit because the drive was too far, it was taking up too much of her paycheck. I know how bad people are hurting. So If I thought that by drilling offshore, we could solve our problem, I'd do it." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks At Campaign Event, Springfield, MO, 7/30/08) Watch Barack Obama Call Offshore Drilling A "Scheme": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9k9138YBKQ

POPSPelosi Shrugs Off Continued GOP Protests... Not for one minute do I believe that the Republicans are against Pelosi's last clipped comment. The difference is the lifting of the offshore drilling legislation....which Boehner, correctly, knows would past. THAT's the entire reason for this disgusting failure to complete their responsibilities before they left for their vacations. It has nothing to do with any of the other options she mentioned. This woman *wants* the economy to slide so that she can falsely lay the blame on the President and the GOP.

POPSPelosi and her fellow totalitarians Totalitarianism is total political power by the state, and comprises a society in which the ideology of the state has influence and power over most of its citizens. Totalitarians attempt to mold the private life, the soul, the spirit, and the mores of citizens to a dominant ideology. Pelosi and her like-minded ideologues do this, of course, through every means at hand, including in Pelosi’s case the manipulation of House rules so that such things as a vote on off-shore drilling never see the light of day — or democracy.

POPSRepublican Revolt Against The No-Solutions-Democrats Republicans were back on the floor of the House this morning and will continue throughout the week to force Democrats to return to Washington, DC and get the job done for the American people of holding a vote on energy. Check back tomorrow for more updates on The Revolt. Americans can't afford the Democrat agenda of no energy, no drilling, no solutions.

POPSAlaska's Waters Quietly Reopen To Drilling The moratorium remained unchanged for more than a decade until Alaskan Sen. Ted Stevens spearheaded a successful effort to suspend the moratorium in 2003. In January 2007, President George Bush lifted Clinton's moratorium on leasing the drilling rights in the Aleutian Basin. The Aleutian Basin is the only shallow-water leasing area currently offered by the Interior Department. Roughly 80% of the area's waters are less than 200 feet deep. The most promising drilling prospects are located in water depths of about 300 feet.

POPSGOP'ers protest over energy ---- This is truly shocking behavior for "public servants". So everyone goes on vacation while the most pressing issue facing us regular citizens is being stalled. And Up or Down vote; how hard can that be? Except they are hoping they can stall until after the election. In the mean time, times-a-wastin' and you & I are cutting back and the status quo remains. The Democrat Party at work --- NOT!

POPS"Texas Tea Party" Held Over Through Friday From Amanda Carpenter at Townhall: I can tell you, this is going to be a full-week assault. A GOP aide showed me a week-long schedule of GOP floor speaking dates on energy while the rest of Congress is on their 5-week taxpayer paid vacation. I'll try to share that schedule with you later. If your congressman isn't on it, you should give their office call! Update: The #dontGo feed on Twitter has become de facto Update Central, but your options for following along (despite the lack of audio or video recording equipment) continues to grow, including: * Live blog at minority leader John Boehner's site * The Facebook * The YouTube Channel Update: Oil just dipped below $120 per barrel for the first time in 3 months Update: During the occasional press conferences, Minority whip Roy Blunt has just made it pretty clear that the fun will continue at least throughout the week.

POPSWelcome To A Preview Of The Economy Killers energy-efficient appliances and home upgrades to "save" the environment and what remains of your bank account. Of course, this may not be an issue for you. You may not mind adjusting to newer, smaller vehicles that cost more and can do less. You might think that the increased taxes are worth it. You may have extra money in your home budget that you would otherwise waste on frivolous things if not required to use them to pay for necessities like natural gas and electricity. I'm thrilled for you. Really. I am.

POPSHush, Rush... Fascists to left of me, Talkers to the right I'm stuck in the middle with you.... Liberals looking to silence what they can not control... POPSPelosi Wants to Save the Planet? Democrats want no oil from the American OCS or ANWR. But of course they do want more oil. From OPEC. From where Americans don't vote. From places Democratic legislators can't see. On May 13 Sen. Chuck Schumer -- deeply committed to saving just those pieces of the planet that might have huge reserves of American oil -- demanded that the Saudis increase production by a million barrels a day. It doesn't occur to him that by eschewing the slightest disturbance of the mating habits of the Arctic caribou, he is calling for the further exploitation of the pristine deserts of Arabia. In the name of the planet, mind you. The desire to swing a cluebat at these twits is strong....
