CIA and the U.S. "War On Drugs" Doublespeak
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  10-29-2009
This is a classic case of "Forked Tongue". The following is from the article. "This is a pattern for the CIA. In an earlier era they were in partnership with a different set of drug dealers in South America. These drug dealers were interested in selling cocaine and the CIA needed money to finance its secret wars against the people of South and Central America. A natural alliance evolved between cocaine cartels and the CIA, since both had identical interests, namely to crush any popular government that considered land reform or nationalization of industries." One of the more prominent drug dealers in that story was Manuel Noriega, Panama’s military strongman. Noriega was on CIA payroll from the 1950’s until the mid-80’s. He was also a coke dealer, an ally of Pablo Escobar of the Medellin Cartel. The CIA needed some extra cash to fund its covert operations against freely elected governments in South America, notably Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega (who was freely elected again in 200

...who requested anonymity as he is not authorized to speak publicly. “The motive behind the massacre appears to be rooted in his ideology, an ideology which was emboldened by online activity,” added this source. As indicated by a ABC News Online article, intelligence sources reportedly had a level of knowledge that HASAN was in communication with al Qaeda assets abroad. The source speaking to this author confirmed that report but went further, stating that this and information similar but not directly related to such communications became a “political issue” between government agencies and officials “at the policy making levels” of the administration. According to this source, the now infamous pre-9/11 walls erected within government agencies have returned, “but this time they are higher and stronger.” “There is an unwillingness to address ‘delicate’ intelligence and security matters by sharing information outside of the beltway and that directive comes right from the top.

Praises to Obama
kareval
by kareval  11-5-2009    1
But Obama’s skin color has nothing to do with this. Does anyone interested in retaining their merit badge for intellectual honesty really want to argue that Condi Rice or J.C. Watts would’ve spawned a dozen-and-counting tribute videos? This is about brainwashing our children into Leftist identity politics. Sure, the schools can argue that they had some kind of parental permission — which, if true, is somehow even more disturbing — but who even considers doing something like this with young minds? That’s a rhetorical question. There was some guesswork, but to the best of our ability the videos run from oldest to youngest, starting with high schoolers. We list the name of the school and the date the video was posted. From there, if it could be found (or a confident guess made), you’ll find the schools’ website, followed by the original title given to the video and any notes added by whoever uploaded to YouTube. Each video has also been transcribed so you can follow the bouncing

A Beckean Slip: Confusing the president with bin Laden, while touting theory that Obama is a Marxist
ratilfar
by ratilfar  10-28-2009    1
This is what we'll call a Beckean Slip: An apparent slip of the tongue that is most likely intentional, and at the bare minimum clearly exposes the desire to confuse the public. It isn't the first time Beck has slipped and mixed up Osama bin Laden's name with President Obama's. And it certainly won't be the last. However, it does tend to undermine Beck's subsequent claim to having this high-level, all-seeing mind that is "right" about a whole host of things (that he's actually been wrong about). Indeed, it reveals a confused mind incapable of clearly distinguishing between the president of the United States and a cave-dwelling terrorist. Beck also adds that "I could be wrong" but "I haven't been before"? Um, yeah, except for the dozens of times he actually has been wrong. (Remember when he was predicting that Americans would eventually go for McCain at the polls? That prediction turned out well, didn't it?)

selecting Gen. Stanley McChrystal to implement it, the administration began to get very cold feet about the war it had described as a strategic necessity. Consider this quick timeline: March 27 . Accompanied by Gen. David Petraeus, author of the Iraq “surge” and head of U.S. Central Command, President Obama announces the conclusion of the “Af-Pak” review: a “comprehensive strategy” to “disrupt, dismantle and defeat al Qaeda” and “combat insurgents”"i.e., the Taliban. May 11 . McKiernan is fired and replaced by Gen. Stanley McChrystal. “We have a new strategy, a new mission and a new ambassador. Late June . Traveling in Afghanistan with Bob Woodward"who has by now simply opened an office in the West Wing"National Security Adviser (and ex-Marine general) Jim Jones tells on-the-ground commanders “that the Obama administration wants to hold troop levels here flat for now, . . .

Does a nation's mood lurk in its songs and blogs?
Aribeth
by Aribeth  8-4-2009    1
“And it’s going to change the social sciences; that to me is very clear.” ... From another site, http://wefeelfine.org/ , they pulled more than nine million sentences that used some form of the verb feel — as in “I feel relieved” — from 2.3 million blogs from 2005 to 2009.They then rated the psychological charge, or “valence,” of a significant subset of the words on a 10-point scale: from triumphant (8.82) and love (8.72) down to disgusted (2.45) and suicide (1.25). Some of the findings were expected. Sept. 11, 2001, was rock bottom, for instance. Others were less so: the day that Michael Jackson died also lowered people’s mood significantly. Christmas and Valentine’s Day regularly popped as positive times, although words like “guilty” were associated with Christmas and “waste” and “lonely” with Valentine’s Day. “Now, these are bloggers, and they certainly are not representative of everyone,” Dr. Dodds said. “But the pattern is very pronounced.”

Animal hoarding:An expert illuminates the psychology behind this behavior
Aribeth
by Aribeth  3-15-2008
Hoarders often have major dysfunction in work, social and daily activities, reduced awareness of surroundings, and impaired ability to form close relationships with people. Contrary to what we originally thought, animal hoarding does not seem to be strongly associated with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and it is not yet defined as an independent psychological condition. Clinical evaluations indicate that it is often associated with a wide variety of psychological disorders, including borderline personality disorder.

Three 9/11 Heroes Die of Cancer in 5 Days
sahara
by sahara  10-15-2009    1
If passed, the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act would provide $10 billion for medical care for hundreds of first responders who have since become ill, although officially the illnesses have never been linked to the World Trade Center collapse. The act is named after a New York City Police Department detective who died from his post-9/11 ailments. “Unfortunately, it’s just going to happen more and more…I hope next week there isn’t four,” regretted Stephen Grossman. To better illustrate the pattern, the newspaper noted that firefighter John McNamara, also 44, had died of cancer last month. “These three deaths are proof that we need this bill passed today $#0151; not a year from now,” said John Feal, founder of the FealGood Foundation. “How do you get this high cluster of serious cancer in just people that worked the pile?” he said. “That isn’t a coincidence.”

Rape case to force US defence firms into the open
foxyarse

Halliburton/KBR used a clause in her contract requiring disputes to be settled by arbitration to block legal action – a policy which, her lawyer says, has encouraged assaults by creating a climate of impunity. Franken described it as a denial of justice. "Contractors are using fine print to deny women like Jamie Leigh Jones their day in court," he said in a Senate debate. In legal papers Jones, who was 20 at the time, says she was fed a knockout drug while drinking with KBR firefighters. "When she awoke the next morning still affected by the drug, she found her body naked and severely bruised, with lacerations to her vagina and anus, blood running down her leg, her breast implants ruptured and her pectoral muscles torn‚ which would later require reconstructive surgery. Upon walking to the rest room, she passed out again," the papers say.

Obama's Wrecking Crew Charles Krauthammer
merrie
by merrie  10-11-2009    1
Hillsdale College Professor Paul Rahe writes: Krauthammer's point is simple and unassailable. There is, he argues, an intimate connection between the foreign policy being pursued by the Obama administration and its domestic policy. The work undertaken in the domestic sphere by what I have called "Obama's wrecking crew" will, he points out, put a stop to the pattern of dynamic economic growth that made it possible for the United States to defeat Japan, contribute decisively to the defeat of Nazi Germany, contain communism, and ultimately defeat and prepare the way for the dismemberment of the Soviet Union. It will produce economic stagnation of the sort that the Europeans have suffered from for decades, and it will eventuate in a collapse of the American dollar This, as Krauthammer shows, Obama and his minions understand, and this they want -- the elimination of the foundations for American hegemony and the crippling of this country.

Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber from the 1960s who is just an "acquaintance" of Obama. Every presidential administration ends up with scandals inspired by controversial appointees, but typically those tend to revolve around financial improprieties, conflicts of interest, or some other form of white-collar misconduct. For Obama, the scandals seem to be develping in a pattern of disclosures revolving around radical left ideology that raises questions about their fitness for any job in government. And that in turn raises the inevitable question: Is nobody minding the White House personnel store? By: Mark Tapscott Editorial Page Editor

Jeff Galloway: Use walk breaks to set a personal record while running

More: First-time marathoner: Follow the pattern you've used in training, walking 1 minute for every 3 to 5 minutes of running. Experienced marathoner: Use the guidelines in the chart below, according to your time goal. Because you'll still be moving forward, a 1-minute walk break will only slow your overall pace-per-mile by 15 to 20 seconds, depending on how fast you walk.… Marathon walk breaks vary, depending on your time goal. Here's a guide: Time Goal Strategy 5:30 or slower 1-2 min. of walking after every 3-4 min. of running 5:00 to 5:29 1 min. of walking after every 4 to 5 min. of running 4:30 to 4:59 1 min. of walking after 6-7 min. of running 4:00 to 4:29 1 min. of walking after 7-8 min. of running 3:30 to 3:59 1 min. of walking after every mile 3:16 to 3:29 30 sec. of walking after ever mile 3:08 to 3:15 15 sec. of walking after every mile 2:50 to 3:07 10 sec. of walking after every mile

It's gone!
aklimento
by aklimento  10-8-2009
So where are the scores fallen ill or even (Oh, God!) dead? What was all this hype about? It's gone! Gone! ;) And no even traces left. Last week, Dr. Anne Schuchat, the director of immunization at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said, “Most states do have quite a lot of disease right now, and that’s unusual for this time of year.” “To say, Oh, all of us in New York are immune, we won’t have any more disease and we don’t need to take vaccine, is a dangerous conclusion to draw,” Dr. Cetron said. If some bureaucrats want to keep themselves busy, it's up to them. Only, please, not at our expense. Not at expense public well being and not at expense of our pockets. We have something else to do rather than than run in mortal panic with no possibility of hide from aggressive science-like manipulative psychological attacks.
