POPS Pegging Biden Update: I loved it when Sarah Palin said "I watched all those debates" basically telling Biden in not so many words that she knows what he said in those primary debates and what he is saying now is not true. I smiled when she said that because I know she probably watched "those debates" this week in preparation for this debate and almost certainly remembered more of what Joe Biden said in them than he did.

POPSValley Girls: Padma Warrior My comment: First, WOW. Second, Cisco is not sexy, make it sexy, Ms Warrior. Majority of people in this world don't even know what Cisco does, it also includes those who work closely and those who use the Cisco technologies on continuous basis.

POPSTale of the Two Bracelets My call? McCain unhesitatingly cited the name of the fallen soldier, with passion and commitment. The elitist man-child had to glance at his bracelet for the name on it, then stuttered the name, unfamiliar with it. The insincerity of this showed that the bracelet on his wrist is but another campaign prop, and a sneer to those of us who cling to our guns and religion.

POPSAll About Mr. Elephant "We feel some pangs watching the unclothed mothers of Babar’s cousins relegated to running in the dust, while their well-dressed children get to ride in a car. There are other pains as well. One of the most upsetting images in Jean de Brunhoff’s books may be of Babar and Celeste, captured and costumed, made to perform in a circus. The indignity is palpable."

POPSWhy I Love Clipmarks So, i didn't write this, I read it. It was posted by Clipmarks user onlinedesign in the "Why I Use Clipmarks" section of her profile. You can click the source link to visit her page. I wanted to clip this because it really moved me. It is exactly what i hope Clipmarks can provide for people. Knowing that we have accomplished this for some people gives me great pride and satisfaction. I could never adequately convey how impressed, inspired and grateful i am for the collective contributions of the people who share the content, thoughts, opinion, passion and perspective that gets mixed together here on clipmarks.com. I think it's truly remarkable.

POPSGeorge Washington's Rules of Civility
Insightful precepts of civil social behavior; as applicable now as ever. As a young schoolboy in Virginia, George Washington took his first steps toward greatness by copying out by hand a list of 110 ' Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation .' Based on a 16th-century set of precepts compiled for young gentlemen by Jesuit instructors, the Rules of Civility were one of the earliest and most powerful forces to shape America's first president.... Most of the rules are concerned with details of etiquette, offering pointers on such issues as how to dress, walk, eat in public and address one's superiors. But in the introduction to the newly published Rules of Civility: The 110 Precepts That Guided Our First President in War and Peace , Brookhiser warns against dismissing the maxims as "mere" etiquette. "The rules address moral issues, but they address them indirectly," writes. "They seek to form the inner man (or boy) by shaping the outer."

POPSDizzler - All in 1 Mediaplayer Online - TOP!
Dizzler free downloadable application allows users to search online and play free music, videos, games, and radio stations on their desktop or mobile device. Our goal is to create a place where media creators and users can come together and share their passion. We want our members to be able to enjoy all of the free media content on the web as safely and easily as possible without any SPYWARE, ADWARE or storage constraints. All you need is access to the internet and our free media player. Where does the music, video and games come from? When you make a search, Dizzler only returns publicly available content from the Internet. Dizzler’s technology indexes and then encrypts in-line links to 3rd party websites that publicly host media using the same standards and practices as the major search engines (Google, Yahoo). This encryption prevents Dizzler users from accessing the actual paths to content in order to thwart inappropriate downloading, copying or sharing of files.

POPSVirtual Obsession: Woman Arrested, Stalked Ex-Virtual Boyfriend Virtual reality led to virtual insanity and real crime. Shows that fantasy interaction produces a brainwashed state of mind in some, even violent obsession. Of course this happens in real life too. "Crimes of passion" are among the leading crimes, just ask your local police dept. Women are not infrequently the aggressors. There is nothing like the fury of a woman scorned

POPSAlternative energy needs help from Congress It's crazy to me to see the Bush administration and many members of Congress focusing on drilling for oil with such passion, yet you hear next to nothing from them about investing whatever resources are necessary to jump start a brand new industry that could significantly lessen our dependence on oil. Seeing what Russia is doing in Georgia should make the U.S. government's desire to aid the development of alternative sources such as solar and wind even that much greater.

POPSJohn McCain, Friend of Monopolies I think there are two reasons McCain invokes Teddy Roosevelt. 1. Roosevelt wasn't a Republican in the modern sense, but a Republican in the original sense -- i.e., a progressive. McCain hopes to signal some that his "maverick" label actually means something. 2. Teddy Roosevelt is the one face on Mt. Rushmore that Americans know the least about. In the end, I'd say it's more 2 than 1.
