POPSFreedom's Martyr "Justice would be served, belatedly, if President Obama and Governor Kaine found a way to pardon a man whose heroic effort to free four million enslaved blacks helped start the war that ended slavery. Once and for all, rescue John Brown from the loony bin of history."

POPSA couple of "SHUT THE FUCK UP"s for your Thanksgiving morning CONTINUED: Did you slaughter the turkey, cut it's throat and let it go from living animal to dead animal in front of you, drain it of blood, scoop out the shit and entrails from it's carcass, and yank all the feathers from it's dead skin? Or did you just turn on your gas-burning cage, drive to the supermarket, and pick up a plastic-wrapped ball of meat-&-bone without a face or feet? Shut the fuck up about the mela. Your hypocrisy sickens me. Enjoy your dinner. But shut the fuck up while you do it.

POPSBring On The Clowns Starring Eric Holder
of the federal courthouses and the Metropolitan Correctional Center) will be snarled with massive security, as if lower Manhattan needs more traffic and more armed men. We'll have to have pretrial hearings on the inevitable countless motions about how KSM was apprehended and the evidence against him collected, undoubtedly to the detriment of vital sources of intelligence, like when we lost the ability to track Osama bin Laden by cellphone after our tracing of his calls was revealed by a prosecution under the DOJ Criminal Division then headed by...Eric Holder. And that's even before he starts in on the sob stories about being waterboarded. I'm not seriously concerned that KSM stands any chance of being acquitted, but a hung jury? It only takes one person with extreme political or religious views, one juror who just can't abide the death penalty (even assuming Obama's DOJ pursues it). Just imagine the controversy, if there are Muslims in the jury pool...

POPSDon't Portray Obama or Global Governance in a 'Negative Light' Obama's media liaison meets with Fox News (Satire) . Pardon, it just fits so well. Proof of appropriateness of this from this article here in Dec. 2008 It's a record-setting press honeymoon. President-elect Barack Obama has received the most positive campaign news coverage on the main network news shows in the 20-year history of such studies by the Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA). Wonder when the media, other than Fox, will end the love fest and start reporting people's fears and concerns about the Agenda , and without similar V tactics from the White House .

POPSSouth Carolina pardons black brothers convicted of 1913 killing Police initially focused on Mrs Davis and her husband Bart, who were arrested with packed suitcases which included a bloodied pair of trousers. But investigators' attention shifted when Mr Lewis's stolen pistol was traced to John "Monk" Stevenson, a small-time criminal who said he had been given the gun by Bart Davis's brother. He claimed he was only a lookout when Lewis was killed. However, in a plea deal that spared his life, Stevenson – who was also black – changed his story and named the Griffin brothers as the killers and testified against them. According to sworn statements from fellow inmates, Stevenson admitted in jail that the men he implicated knew nothing of the crime. He said that the Griffins "could afford a lawyer and beat the rap". The brothers were the owners of a 138-acre farm, making them probably the wealthiest blacks in the area. All of the land was sold to pay their legal fees and court costs.

POPSUnited Nations; Trade Union & Social Club For Tin Pot Tyrants by Mark Steyn
which of them is more unreal. To be sure, Colonel Qaddafi peddled his thoughts on the laboratory origins of “swine flu” and the Zionist plot behind the Kennedy assassination. But, on the other hand, President Obama said: “No nation can or should try to dominate another nation.” Pardon me? Did a professional speechwriter write that? Or did you outsource it to a starry-eyed runner-up in the Miss America pageant? Whether or not any nation “should try” to dominate another, they certainly “can,” and do so with effortless ease, all over the planet and throughout human history. And how about this passage? “I have been in office for just nine months " though some days it seems a lot longer. I am well aware of the expectations that accompany my presidency around the world. These expectations are not about me. Rather, they are rooted, I believe, in a discontent with a status quo that has allowed us to be increasingly defined by our differences . . . ”

POPS Van Jones: A (mis)Leader ’Til The End But let’s look at his parting shot and, as they say in the streets of middle America, break it down. 1. opponents of reform There’s a loaded phrase, eh? Because the key word here is reform. By that can we assume he meant the changing of the “whole system” from the ground up? “We gonna change the whole thang.” By reform is he talking about changing our existing American system of government to bypass elected officials almost entirely by appointing czars surreptitiously, for the very purpose of avoiding any usual vetting process? Is he referring to the dismantling of our Capitalistic society in order to “give” jobs to the “chronically unemployed?” Are black people currently prevented from going to school? Prevented from applying for jobs? Doing the work of building this hallowed new system of gleaming clean energy? 2. vicious smear campaign Here he is most likely referring to Glenn Beck and Fox News, for having the journalistic sensibility to

POPSObama, the Mortal "The conventional wisdom is that Obama made a tactical mistake by farming out his agenda to Congress and allowing himself to be pulled left by the doctrinaire liberals of the Democratic congressional leadership. But the idea of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi pulling Obama left is quite ridiculous. Where do you think he came from, this friend of Chávista ex-terrorist William Ayers, of PLO apologist Rashid Khalidi, of racialist inciter Jeremiah Wright?"

POPSTexas DNA exonerees find prosperity after prison More: Two who served about 26 years in prison for rape will receive lump sums of about $2 million apiece. Another, Steven Phillips, who spent about 24 years in prison for sexual assault and burglary, will get about $1.9 million. The biggest compensation package will likely go to James Woodard, who spent more than 27 years in prison for a 1980 murder that DNA testing later showed he did not commit. He eventually could receive nearly $2.2 million but first needs a writ from the state's Court of Criminal Appeals or a pardon from the governor. McGowan and the others are among 38 DNA exonerees in Texas, according to the Innocence Project, a New York legal center that specializes in overturning wrongful convictions. Dallas County alone has 21 cases in which a judge overturned guilty verdicts based on DNA evidence, though prosecutors plan to retry one of those.

POPSArguing online: PZ Myers' 3-comment rule More: I rather like PZ’s vision for how the conversation would progress in this envisaged new order: Stranger: 1I think all women are chattel. Old hand: Pardon me, friend, but are you using humor, irony, sarcasm, or satire? Are you perhaps about to expand on a deeper philosophical point? Stranger: 2No, I just think women are meant to serve my needs. Old hand : This sounds like a most unfortunate and disagreeable belief. Why should you hold such a demeaning attitude? Stranger: 3Because the Bible, which is the literal word of God, tells me so. Old hand: See? Isn’t that much better? You can still have your fun in the general melee, but let’s just slow the onset down a little, hold fire for a few minutes, and see if we can get a few words through the macho murk first.

POPSTerrorists Get Appeals, Obamacare Patients Don’t ~ by Andrew McCarthy To deprive these litigants of basic legal rights, we were told, was to run roughshod over constitutional checks and balances. Without federal district judges overseeing the commander-in-chief’s conduct of war, George W. Bush would have an intolerable “blank check.” The people trying to kill us would be lost in a “legal black hole,” an unconscionable violation of the rule of law. Perusing the Democrats’ proposal to usurp the health-care industry, one-sixth of what used to be known as the private sector, that history rushes back to mind. Pardon me if I can’t help thinking: This sure looks an awful lot like a legal black hole. #adOne might have thought we’d run out of blank checks for Barack Obama by now. But if “our values” really include judicial oversight, then Obamacare doesn’t have much to do with our values. And this time, the people being stripped of their basic legal rights are not America-hating terrorists.

POPSTuring: Campaigners demand pardon for mathematics genius full at source: A month later, after Turing, a veteran of the then still secret Bletchley Park code-cracking team, had been giving a talk to the BBC on his pioneering work on artificial intelligence, he returned home to find his house burgled. Related articles * More UK News The culprit was an acquaintance of Murray's, who would prey on Murray's lovers, thinking they would be so afraid of being outed that they would not report the thefts to the police. But Turing defied this convention and went straight to the police, where he admitted his affair – a "crime" for which he was spared the normal two-year jail term in favour of a hormonal treatment designed to beef up his masculine urges and suppress his homosexuality. The resulting publicity was to prove too much to bear and in June 1954, the 41-year-old was found dead in bed by his housekeeper. He had eaten an apple he had laced with poison.
