POPS If You Donate A Kidney To Dad, You Won't Get Insurance Again. Mr. Waddington has polycystic kidney disease, or PKD, a genetic disorder that leads to kidney failure. First he lost one kidney, and then the other. A year ago, he was on dialysis and desperately needed a new kidney. Doctors explained that the best match — the one least likely to be rejected — would perhaps come from Travis or Michael, his two sons, then ages 29 and 27. Travis and Michael each had a 50 percent chance of inheriting PKD. And if pre-donation testing revealed that one of them had the disorder, that brother might never be able to get health insurance. As a result, their doctors had advised not getting tested. After all, new research suggests that lack of insurance increases a working-age person’s risk of dying in any given year by 40 percent. “At the time David needed a transplant, the people closest to him couldn’t even offer a lifesaving donation — for insurance reasons,” said Mr. Waddington’s wife, Susan.

POPSObama Health Care Endorses Cannibalism
who energetically supported a plea from a 1972 Andes airplane crash survivor where 16 soccer team mates lived after 72 days of dining off the corpses of their companions until help arrived. Obama embraced survivor Jose Louis "Coohe" Inciarte in his efforts to promote organ donation as a key stone of his revolving health care plan. "No longer will you have to lament the humane death of your grandma," the President said, " for her heart will live on!" A Fox news reporter was shouted down when he attempted to link this comment with tribal Zulu warriors practice of eating the raw heart of vanquished enemies killed in battles. Outside the front yard was filled with protesters with hastily made signs proclaiming "Don't Eat My Grandma"....and other signs commenting " Eat Shit, But Not My Sister!" Rahm Emanuel was said to have jumped all over the opportunity to promote the new policy, in part encouraged by the recent arrest of New Jersey Rabbis accused of trading in fresh kidney

POPS"The Rapacity of Odacity" Socialism is rapacious because it has an endless appetite for power. If you doubt it, look at Britain today, where average people -- the productive ones -- are taxed, constantly bullied by the government-owned BBC, and bribed into voting socialist. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has gone to the logical extreme of demanding that British citizens donate their body parts to the National Health Service when they die -- mandatory organ donation, or socialist cannibalism. He calls it ‘presumed consent," which means that if you're dead, the government gets to decide who will re-use your mortal remains.

POPSRecognizing the Man in the Mirror "Three short years ago, the first partial face transplantation was performed in France and recently the first of these procedures to be conducted in the United States was successfully accomplished. This was only the fourth operation of its type but experts estimate that perhaps as early as next year the first complete face transplant will be attempted."

POPSGive me back my kidney, or pay the consequences!
There is neither ethical nor legal justification for demanding the kidney or compensation. An organ donation is a gift. We have specifically prohibited the selling of organs for just this reason. Ethically, we believe that the only acceptable reason for donating an organ to another person is altruism. You give the organ because you want the other person to get it. What happens after that is irrelevant. If you cannot sue to get your kidney back because you now have a medical need for it, you certainly do not have grounds to sue to get it back simply because you are angry with the recipient. This case is not about the commodification of organs, either. No only do we prohibit the selling of organs, but we hold both the donor and recipient harmless in the action. The donor cannot sue the recipient for the costs associated with the donation, and the recipient cannot sue the donor if the donor had an undiagnosed medical problem that was transmitted with the organ. POPSHow to join the UK Organ Donor Register Make sure your nearest and dearest know your wishes, seems to be an important point - oh and persuade your friends and family to think about the issue - sooner rather than later!

POPSAll Your Organs Belong To Us You income is ours, your children are ours to educate and indoctrinate as we please, your health care is ours to determine, and now when we kill you off your organs are ours too. UK Government 2008 Soon to be the mantra of Hillary/Obama care?

POPSTo give or not to give ''It is expected the measures could result in a 10% increase in the consent rate for donation which currently stands at 60%''

POPSBritain to take organs without explicit conesnt. As I have said in other clips. The last thing I want is some doctor looking at me before I have died and thinking "Wonderful, wonderful, this guys organs are perfect for the guy in room 302." Further, attaching benchmarks for organ donations is even more frightening. No thanks, unless I give you explicit consent don't look at me like a bag of organs to distribute.

POPSOrgan Donation Incentives? Over 6,000 people die each year in the United States while waiting for donated organs. For any number of reasons, most people do not sign their organ donor cards, or voluntarily leave their organs via their medical proxy. There are those who believe that incentives might encourage more people to donate their organs, who ordinarily would not have thought to do so. There are moral questions, and I thought this clip might give us all a lot to think about.

POPSGirl could give birth to sibling This is a bit awkward. I can follow the donation being similar to giving a kidney. The girl has half her mother's DNA and the egg would have half as well. But the other half would be the girl's husband's contribution? That would make him a dad/uncle. If seeking another sperm contributor to reduce confusion, why bother with Mom's eggs? If it were a man giving his genetic material to his daughter's reproductive endeavors, wouldn't that be incest? I can't wrap my head around this completely.

POPSGotcha! Kidney TV show a hoax I'm interested to hear what others think about this bearing in mind that "the contestants were also part of the deception, although all three are genuine kidney patients". I'm ambiguous about it.

POPSThe Case for Mandatory Organ Donation Personally, I prefer the idea of reversing the organ donation code on your ID.. ie: you are in by default, you MUST say no on your ID to opt out. (n most places, including i think everywhere in Canada, you are out by default & opt-in). Mandatory donation could go against the rights of the individual, especially those who for religious reasons find it abhorrent.
