Scientist spying for Israel busted by the FBI

by ratilfar  10-20-2009
An affidavit suggests why FBI agents posed as agents of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to conduct the sting operation. From 1998 to 2008, the complaint alleges, Nozette was a technical adviser for a consultant company that was wholly owned by the Israeli government. Nozette was paid about $225,000 over that period, the court papers say. Then, in January of this year, Nozette allegedly traveled to another foreign country with two computer thumb drives and apparently did not return with them. Prosecutors also quote an unnamed colleague of Nozette who said the scientist said that if the U.S. government ever tried to put him in jail for an unrelated criminal offense, he would go to Israel or another foreign country and "tell them everything" he knows. The complaint does not allege that the government of Israel or anyone acting on its behalf violated U.S. law. In Jerusalem, Israeli government officials had no immediate comment. The affidavit by FBI agent Leslie Martell s

Trying to create a giant bureaucracy is now a “fight against death”

In Olbermann’s fight against death, death won and claimed his audience’s brain cells. A "fight against death." I guess that’s kind of like how sorting out your bottles and cans from the trash is “saving the world.” Note to Liberals: There are actual big problems that could use solving, like Iran getting nukes and keeping the Taliban from taking over in Afghanistan. If that’s too big for you, you can help the needy with your own time and money. I know things that don’t result in a bigger government pushing people around don’t tend to interest you, but give it your consideration, please.

President Obama: “My Image Is More Important Than Iranian Nukes”
merrie
by merrie  10-4-2009    2
Addendum: Truly, this man wanted the spotlight instead of sending the message, given is lame excuse: But Mr Obama did not want to “spoil the image of success” of his disarmament session, which passed a resolution to work towards a nuclear-free world and a host of measures designed to control the spread of nuclear weapons and reduce existing stocks. How could challenging Iran’s hidden nuclear facilities collide with his image of fighting the spread of nuclear weapons? The two dovetail nicely, and he would have picked up the respect of the hard liners here and abroad. Clearly, this presidency is all about ‘me’ (the imperial ‘me’ of course). And I thought Clinton was self absorbed.

According to a person who has read the committee's draft report, the retired C.I.A. official, George W. Iran Insists on Nuclear Rights

Last week Iran told the UN's IAEA that it has a nuclear enrichment plant under construction (with no nuclear material in it and over a year away from being operational). That's the fact. Iran telling this info was all properly done in accord with the IAEA, the NPT, and the U.N. terms it has signed onto. Note: Some nations, like Israel and India, have nukes but haven't signed these agreements...so just signing onto these agreements is the first step in "trying to do the right thing." But major Western powers and Israel have jumped all over this -- go to war with Iran are now once again the raging headlines -- just like misleading nations into the War in Iraq based on unfounded speculation now the drums of war call for a War in Iran based on unfounded speculation - fabrication - distortions - manipulation. Iran's "Secret" Nukes
sahara
by sahara  9-25-2009    3
"But the U.S. has known of the facility's existence "for several years" through intelligence developed by U.S., French and British agencies, a senior White House official said. Obama decided to gather allies to talk publicly on Friday about their view of the project so as not to let Iran have the only word, officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity to let the statements from Obama and the leaders remain the focus. The plant would be about the right size to enrich enough uranium to produce one or two bombs a year, but inspectors must get inside to know what is actually going on, the official said. The three leaders hoped the disclosure would increase pressure on the global community to impose new sanctions on Iran if it refuses to stop its nuclear program."

I can think of a few quick applicable Iraq lessons off the top of my head. Whack one tyrant, the rest notice. Also, whacking tyrants effectively neutralizes their ability to cause trouble. Also, follow-on is important, don’t let the Euros weasel out of it, and ignore the Dems and the anti-war American left. They are loud, but harmless.

Iran? Secret? Nukes? Revealed?

Like a massive nuclear propaganda super spin bomb all news today is about the revelation of a second nuclear enrichment power plant in Iran. This "revelation," started 4 days ago when Iran told the world about it. The plant is not operational yet. But rather quickly, Britian, USA, France, Israel, etc. are acting and making statements like They Revealed this discovery. They are also acting like they discover a nuclear bomb factory instead of being told about a non-operational nuclear power facility. !? It's quite a massive propaganda blitz, well-timed, in the midst of the UN meeting, in the midst of the G-20 meeting, shortly before a meeting of Western Powers and Russia,China to discuss sanctions on Iran. And...the "secret," of Israel having nuke weapons and never telling the IAEA or anybody about what it's doing still is apparently forbidden to mention. It truly sounds like a major move, a lead up to starting a war. If it get's "fixed," in people's mind that Ira

The warmongers and hatemongers want distractions and smear. While one of the most extraordinary and exciting speech I have ever heard took place, I see more stories about failed efforts to stop Gadhafi from setting up a tent. This clip, for example, spent half it's time on that tent non-issue and falsefly claimed it was successful. But no, Gadhafi got to put up his tent, made his speech and despite all the poor translation, smears of it being "rambling," confused, outrageous, etc. -- he got his points across and apparently the web is abuzz about it. The headline of this clip for example, said the speech at the UN "confused," -- but that was not true. It made several clear points. -- especial the very clear point that five nations always having veto power over Security Council resolutions was unfair. D'uh. Other proposed UN charter reforms were suggested. Also talk about the terrorism of nations with nukes, imperialism, colonialism evils, etc. - all valid. & so

Obama Speaks at United Nations
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  9-23-2009
Somewhat low key. This article/clip is a reasonable summary. Unfortuantely there is a joke in U.S. politics about "that depends upon what your definition of 'is,' is." -- meaning, on specific issues - is his objection to 'nukes,' in Iran and North Korea objections to nuke weapons or also objection to Iran's nuclear power program (which is legal and in accord with the UN IAEA). Does he desire for reducing nukes and being honest with nukes include the "secret," nuclear weapons of Israel that somehow always fail to get mentioned. Surprisingly firm, while committed to Israel's security he said the increase in Israel settlements was "illegitimate." - a rather firm statement and talked about the 1967 borders of Israel, and how Palestine needs a "contagious," free and real independent state. But none of these things would seem acceptable to Israel at all, their "peace terms," clearly sounding like "we go on with aggression and expansion," statements.

Two years ago, six nuclear armed weapons were attached to the wings of a B-52 bomber and flown from North Dakota to Barksdale, the USAF staging base for Middle East operations. This took place in contradiction to all laws and all military procedures. Military experts could not recall a single incident of this kind ever taking place. Two years later, the event has still not been credibly unexplained. And of the six that were put on the plane in North Dakota, only five have been fully accounted for. Some folks have short memories. BrasscheckTV doesn't.

The head of the French military said Thursday that military intervention is no longer a viable option to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear capability. French chief-of-staff Gen. Jean-Louis Georgelin said following a speech that that he believes a military operation would be too risky. "It is very difficult to plan a military operation in Iran, because we are not sure in one shot to be able to solve a problem and if you fail in one shot, it is a catastrophe," he said in English. "I don't think at this stage a military option is still available." Georgelin was answering a question after a speech at the Atlantic Council in Washington on France's new relationship with NATO and stressed that the comment was his opinion. Georgelin was in the United States to attend a ceremony Wednesday as French Gen. Stephane Abrial became the first non-American officer to permanently fill a NATO command post.

USA/Israel Nuclear Double Standard

This link was on my Google Home Page, a YoutTube from Al Jazeera. It's about how Israel has nukes. Everybody knows they have nukes. Secret deals were made with the USA not to mention that Israel has nukes -- hundreds of nuclear weapons and, apparently, working too on nuclear power. If you didn't know...well, this video explains it. It also makes clear this Double Standard is a hoax, unfair, deceptive, full-of-lies, bollix or bulls*it or whatever you want to call it. It's also dangerous. The danger is trying to whip up a war with Iran....with false claims that it wants to make nuclear weapons sometime in the future....something which can't be proved even if true. So --- while having hundreds of secret nuclear weapons of all sorts, Israel wants a war with Iran for having a nuclear power program. This is how Iran and those who know the facts view the politics -- a double-standard based on Israeli secrets and lies. "Died for Lies," might be a good tombstone to make for

Israel and USA neocons led the way lying about Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction and for the past few years are spreading the same lies about Iran. And our corrosive and toxic media prints this negative gossip as if it was news. Then generals and politicians quote the false non-news gossip. All the while (like in Iraq) the actual facts and info from the IAEA has to be ignored. It's quite a trick but how dumb could we be to get fooled by it again. Of course, it's not like most people are fooled but the warmongers need to come up with some reason for invasion so this gives 'em something to babble while their war plans move forward. The extra "irony," is Israel is the nation with the hundreds of illegal nuke weapons. So, it looks like the pressure of another war for the sake of Israel and Oil remains the Master Plan. Israel is probably also the most racist nation in the world and accusing everyone else of racism seems to cover this fact up. Don't ge

Israel Claims UN's IAEA Withholding Info

Israel, which has hundreds of secret illegal nukes and god knows what weapons of mass destruction...and has refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty...now accused the UN of withhold info and accused Iran of not abiding by "proper," nuclear policies. And it wants the USA and the West to go to war about this and/or cripple the Iranian economy. What's wrong with this picture? -- It's the opposite of the truth. The truth is Israel's secret and illegal nuclear weapons. But we're suppose to go to war because of empty claims of Iran's alleged "desire," for nuclear weapons. Israel is in no position to make such accusations or demand more wars. It's the one that should open it nuclear weapons programs to UN inspection (like Iran does). Supporting Israel is support collective punishment, apartheid, policies of genocide towards the Palestinians. It's best the worst mistake in USA modern history and in the EU, too. Israel is the active and real threat to world peace

Our age of lifetime, worldwide warmongering and corrosive, toxic news keeps pushing the idea that Iran wants to make nuclear weapons. To add to this, the nation that wants to punish Iran the most for this ---this false accusation -- is Israel, which has hundreds of illegal nuke weapons. Israel, too, does not cooperate or allow in the IAEA. Iran has always cooperated with the IAEA. The IAEA, the UN associated International Atomic Energy Agency, are also the one who got it right about Saddam NOT having any WMD's. -- and said so before the U.S. invasion. But the USA and Israel wanted to keep fabricating and promoting their false propaganda...lots of people, till this day, actually think the invasion of Iraq was approved by the UN when in fact it was not. Now we're suppose to fear -- fear that in five or ten years Iran will have nuke weapons so...we should kill 'em now. Tsk. Tsk. Well...is warmongering propaganda if that's what you like to feed on.
