How to Bypass “This video is not available in your country”
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  11-8-2009    5
Both workarounds above are brilliant and work like a charm. Also, if someone posts a youtube on CM, for example, and I get the dreaded *not available in your country" message, you can't even see what the youtube was supposed to be! So, to get around that, I just do a Google search for the youtube URL itself and the top search result will tell you the title and exactly what video they want to keep from you. Then I just paste that title into youtube's search box and voila! .:D I hope this will help others who also HATE that damned *not available* message. Enjoy. .:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pXWTG7XzH4

America's gun outrage: 276 people killed or wounded a day
tabsey
by tabsey  11-9-2009
This is what causes non Americans to wonder about the reaction to the Fort Hood incident. There were a lot more killed that day elsewhere. Are those incidents so common that Americans don't notice them? 30000 a year is a lot of people.

"* * Mandatory prohibitions on breaking DRM, even if doing so for a lawful purpose (e.g., to make a work available to disabled people; for archival preservation; because you own the copyrighted work that is locked up with DRM)" Now that is a worriying development. Let see the Teabaggers chew on this. Nah, it's a pro-corporate treaty which enforces American will on the REST of the world, so it doesn't set off the NWO alarm bells.

52 AMAZING Shots of Classic Cars

Merging between both the art of photography and auto design can produce wonderful photography artwork that tell about the great classic cars design story through the history, no matter if these classic cars are shown in a gallery in a big city or parked on a far away deserted farm, but the beauty of the effect is the same and will never change.

Goodbye Palestinian State
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  11-4-2009
The chief negotiator for Palestine in the Eviction Talks (definitely NOT "peace talks,") with Israel says it might be time to give up the two-state solution. Of course the negotiations were a charade and this is the USA-puppet Palestinian government, not Hamas, but still it rings out as a profound statement, a "thinking of the unthinkable," for Palestinians, a clear declaration of surrender. Thus, the Israeli Eviction Talks seem to be moving along well for them. Erekat seems to miss the point on that. He thinks there will have to be a One State Solution, with Jews, Christians and Muslims all living happily together. Oh my. That is not in accord with the Israeli Eviction Notice. And where does Erekat get the idea that the U.S. will come to Palestinian aid? How long and how much do you have to beat up some people before they get the message? -- The U.S. is on the side of Israel (giving cash, weapons, support for Zionism at home and in the UN). Maybe an "Aineisa," will

More: The physician's caveat: These "rules" do NOT apply if you take a pain med before you run! As you know, I never recommend NSAIDs when you run, but also do not believe in taking preventive meds to stop you from feeling the pain in the first place. Pain plays an important role, in that it helps you to know when to stop. Masking the pain prevents you from knowing when to stop and may lead to a more serious injury.

Ruffling Floridian's Feathers

Predictably, seeing something like this angers many in the conservative state of Florida. If you're not Christian (and fundamentalist) you're definitly in the minority in Florida, particularly in the central portion where this is located. Notice the reporters telling phraseology. "...a billboard asking a provocative question...". Actually the question is not provocative at all. It is addressed directly to people who have doubtsd concerning their faith and could in fact feel comforted by knowing that there are others who share their viewpoint.

NO HEALTH CARE IN THE CONSTITUTION
kareval
by kareval  11-2-2009
News flash for Congressman Hoyer: "general welfare" is mentioned only twice in the Constitution. The phrase appears once in the Preamble, but the Preamble gives the legislative branch no authority whatsoever. "General welfare" is also mentioned once in Article I, Section 8. Here is what it actually means in that section. The powers of the legislative branch are stated in the Constitution. The powers specifically granted to the Congress are spelled out in Article I, Section 8. Since it isn't that long of a section -- and there aren't that many powers -- I will reproduce the entire enumerated powers of the Congress in the first endnote below . The words "general Welfare" show up in the first line of Article I, Section 8: The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States ... Notice that the Constitution doesn't say the "ge

Shebeest Boardrider Capri Bike Pants - Women's
Lexica

More: I bought a second pair because I ride so much. I had tried several other brands and they tend to get very bunchy in the crotch or just incredibly unflattering. Some people don't like light padding, but I find it perfect. I typically ride 2-3 times a week at least 10+ miles each time and I never wish I had more pad. And most people don't realize that you are wearing riding bottoms which makes it easy to go from trail to public without looking out of place. I also like the length. When the sun is beating down, it protects my legs from getting burnt. I also wear knee pads and the material fits perfectly over the top.

Evicted for Reporting Domestic Abuse
ljsdesign
by ljsdesign  10-23-2009    4
To add insult to injury, this past July Cleaves-Milan received a call from a collection agency seeking nearly $3,800 they claimed she owed for the early termination of her lease. She returned home a day after telling police her boyfriend threatened to kill her to find a 10-day eviction notice taped to her door. She didn't terminate her lease early – she was given no choice in the matter. Luckily Aimco dropped this fee, but only after the Chicago Tribune inquired. This story is horrific and unfortunately not uncommon. While the Violence Against Women Act of 2005 protects domestic abuse victims who live in public or subsidized housing from eviction, the law concerning private landlords is unclear. This lack of protection for women who rent in the private market creates a disincentive for women to report abuse, trapping women, and often their children, in violent relationships with no legal recourse.

Built To Withstand Pain

"First, we can begin by telling girls to have confidence in themselves, to not always feel the need to be the passive “good girl.” Which leads me to another piece of advice — have a sense of humor. Believe me, it’s needed. Women are built to withstand hardship and pain. They also define themselves differently."

Moodys Warns U.S. Aaa Rating In Danger
davboz

if it doesn't reduce the debt - either with taxes or cutting expenditures. Notice they gave the administration "3-4 years" so as to allow for an Obama re-election before raising taxes. Then it's all hell breakin' loose for taxes. Either that or let the rating fall and apologize for the fact that we ever had a Triple-A in the first place and appeal to our "empathy for those nations that never had top rating. This would also fit into the progressive p.r. agenda.

US founded as a Christian Nation
kareval
by kareval  10-22-2009    1
Most of the fifty-five Founding Fathers who worked on the Constitution were members of orthodox Christian churches and many were even evangelical Christians. The first official act in the First Continental Congress was to open in Christian prayer, which ended in these words: "...the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Savior. Amen". Sounds Christian to me. Ben Franklin, at the Constitutional Convention, said: "...God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?" John Adams stated so eloquently during this period of time that; "The general principles on which the fathers achieved Independence were ... the general principles of Christianity ... I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that the general principles of Christianity are as etemal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God." more at source
