POPSFaith in Free-Market Capitalism Is Being Rewarded The biggest source of economic stimulus is not the $800 billion Barack Obama spending package. It's the $4.6 trillion of capital gains thrown off by the stock market over the past three quarters. This is investment money, and it also enhances consumer spending. As a result, jobs are likely to start rising early in 2010. The other source of economic stimulus is the amount of money Michael Moore invests in Dominos Pizza and Krispy Kreme, only later to bemoan those same corporations in which he owns shares. Michael Moore-on's movie in which he capitalistically makes money off of gullible liberals’ hatred of capitalism? Seriously, not only did that movie bomb, but the hippo-like hypocrite became enchanted by the ideals of socialism when he took an economics class while coked out of his mind. Using socialism to help revive a failing economy is like putting angry weasels down your pants because you need some rest.

POPSWhat Obama Might Look Like If He Read Polls And Michael Barone's Column
He had already realized that his sentiments were leading him away from the Whigs and toward the new Republican party, and in 1856 he became a Republican. He quickly came to the fore in the party as a moderate opponent of slavery who could win both the abolitionists and the conservative free-staters, and at the Republican national convention of 1856 he was prominent as a possible vice presidential candidate. Two years later he was nominated by the Republican party to oppose Douglas in the Illinois senatorial race. Accepting the nomination (in a speech delivered at Springfield on June 16), Lincoln gave a ringing declaration in support of the Union: "A house divided against itself cannot stand." The campaign that followed was impressive. Lincoln challenged Douglas to a series of debates (seven were held), in which he delivered masterful addresses for the Union and for the democratic idea. He was not an abolitionist, but he regarded slavery as an injustice and an evil .....

POPSAn Open Letter to Michael Mann, Disgraced Victim of Climategate If you possessed but a modicum of honesty, you would simply admit your crimes. Oh -- are you familiar with Archimedes? When ice melts, water levels actually fall. It has to do with displacement and the density of ice versus water. Claiming that sea levels will rise because glaciers melt is either ignorant or fraudulent. Can you pass that along to your buddy-slash-current Science Czar John "Mass Sterilization" Holdren? He's actually been wrong about, well, pretty much everything over the years. Maybe you could help him out. Mr. Mann, the best thing you could do would be to come clean and seek forgiveness. Such an act would be both humbling and liberating. You should try it. It's an option that's always available. And it's never too late to free yourself. Would you agree that humility and contrition are noble endeavors? Regards, Ben Barrack Walk towards the light, Michael. Doug Ross Blog http://bit.ly/5lUgHN

POPSSequoia Capital is planting winter wheat One of the things i admired so much in my meetings with Sequioa was that they made complicated things seem so simple - this is a perfect example. Their track record of consistent success is no coincidence.

POPS"The Big Cutoff:" Another Climate Email Exposed Andy: Copenhagen prostitutes? Climate prostitutes? Shame on you for this gutter reportage. This is the second time this week I have written you thereon, the first about giving space in your blog to the Pielkes. The vibe that I am getting from here, there and everywhere is that your reportage is very worrisome to most climate scientists. Of course, your blog is your blog. But, I sense that you are about to experience the 'Big Cutoff' from those of us who believe we can no longer trust you, me included. Copenhagen prostitutes? Unbelievable and unacceptable. What are you doing and why? Michael What is he doing? He's reporting facts. Professor Schlesinger ought to give it a try and see if it suits him.

POPSMessage to the Environmental Movement The greenie's not for turning The Independent is telling us that the Boy Cameron is facing "a growing challenge to his authority from senior members of his own party who say they have doubts about the Conservatives' stance on global warming." Leading figures including Peter Lilley, the former cabinet minister, Andrew Tyrie and Ann Widdecombe are openly questioning the political consensus on climate change. David Davis is also warning that the policy of tough targets to cut carbon emissions, supported by the Boy, is "destined to collapse". He criticises "the fixation of the green movement with setting ever tougher targets, in the face of failure to meet earlier promises". He adds: "The ferocious determination to impose hair-shirt policies on the public " taxes on holiday flights, or covering our beautiful countryside with wind turbines that look like props from War of the Worlds " is bound to cause a reaction in any democratic country."
